really I'm up for anything, I might come up with some ideas but I would like a simple quest to get back into the groove of writing.

So if any are interested I'd really like to rp with you.

thanks

Mind heading over to Fallien for a bit? I have a quest idea that'll take place there.

Arcanafang

sure Fallien's fine^^

Righty ho. I was thinking of having Mithra Reborn and The Bloody Son joining this too, so I hope you don't mind multiple people, as I have at least two NPC's as well.
We start off in the capital, each of us doin' our own little businesses here and there'z. At different times, we all start hearing rumors of a treasure out in the desert sands. For our own reasons, we all are interested, and a man posts a bulletin saying that he's going after it but needs a good party of people to help him. We meet said man at a tavern, of course, get ready, and go off.

Pros
+ It'll be a fairly long quest, so good writing will gain better Exp. I have faith in all of you.
+ The "treasure" we are going after consists of a variety of artifacts, exotic and unique each. Nothing too strong, like a staff that rains destruction upon command, but each valuable enough. If you would like, I'll post a list of what items are there and we can each call dibs.
+ Certain traps and obstacles will have us rely on the best of our abilities and survival skills each, so I'm pretty certain we would all have to learn at least one new ability or upgrade a single one.

Cons
- Like I said before, the quest'll be long, so if your expecting something short and sweet don't look here.
- You MUST be in Fallien, or at least have to liquid time to be there.
- The trip'll be costly from the amount of supplies we will have to carry. Expect each of you to lose 25-50 gold at least from buying water or medical items. Whether you decide to purchase them or not is your choice, but it'll be easier with them.
- The creatures will be tough. They will not be your average zombie; expect sandwalkers, giant scorpions, and Maws (like those things from Star Wars), and more if I'm feeling particularly vicious. There is a good chance of getting seriously injured or killed.

Right. Still interested?

and yes I'd like to see the artifacts list^^

At the behest of Arcanafang, I'm posting what artifacts are here.
There are seven in all. Each represents a different part of a sorcerer's power.

="Shatterquake"= A giant hammer of dehlar make, this enormous weapon is heavy enough to shatter even a troll's bones with a single swing. ABILITY: At the will of its wielder, the hammer will cause three pillars of earth to simultaneously erupt from the ground when it is swung, a ripple effect exploding from the impact. This can be used twice per day, and the pillars are about 3-5 feet in diameter.
Status: Claimed by Soss the Mop {NPC}

="Lightswing"= A vambrace meant for someone's left arm, it has an unusual design unique to Fallien smiths and it is made from an alloy of damascus and steel, making it very light. ABILITY: The person wearing this armor gains 3x the strength of the average man in their left arm. This ability is constant until the armor is broken or taken off.
Status: Claimed by Maia {Pending}

="Fangspeed"= A necklace of wolf's teeth that belonged to an ancient shaman, they hold the spirit of the wolf from which they were taken. ABILITY: Upon activation, the person wearing the necklace gains the speed and agility of a wolf for one full minute, being able to run at speeds of twenty-five miles per hour and leap over six feet into the air. This can be used twice per day before needing recharging. A side effect of this is that the user, during this state, also receives the traits of a wolf; animalistic, savage, and fiercely protective, the wielder may not be able to tell friend from foe.
Status: Claimed by Samantha {NPC}

="Windcleave"= A falchion of masterwork damascus make, the weapon is light to handle and easy on the eyes from its beautiful craftsmanship. ABILITY: Twice per day, the wielder of the weapon can slash with the blade and cause a wave of wind to release itself and fly from the blade, cutting through objects/enemies from a distance. The strength of the attack is the same as if someone had come up to said/object and enemy and attacked them themselves, the strength of the wielder and the sword. Range is thirty feet before the attack dissipates.
Status: Claimed by Mithra Reborn

="Shadowstalk"= A long scarf of thick material, as black as the midnight sky, this item was said to belong to an assassin of great renown before he was slain. ABILITY: The scarf gives off an aura of "displacement", making the wearer seem to blur and appear to be in one location when he/she is really a couple feet away from that point. The effect is constant until the scarf is destroyed or taken off.
Status: Claimed by The Bloody Son

="Firesnipe"= An old rifle, the barrel is made out of Alerian titanium as to protect itself from the bullets it used to fire. However, the chamber in the weapon seems to have been changed and modified so it no longer can fire bullets...ABILITIES: Instead of firing bullets, this gun can fire actual fireballs at high velocity. Not as fast as a bullet, but with more accuracy and power than a normal fireball. The fireballs are each half a foot in diameter normally, unless the gun is charged up by the will of the user in which it fires a fireball 3' in diameter. It can fire either six "normal" shots per day or one charged fireball and two normal shots before needing time to recharge.
Status: Claimed by Winterscar

="Wingwrap"= A cloak that seems tattered, old and ruined, but it stays durable even during the thousands of years its existed. ABILITY: Twice per day at the will of the wearer, the cloak will twist and turn its around until it forms a pair of dark wings that allow the wearer the momentary power of flight. The wearer can fly at speeds of 30 mph in short bursts, or twenty mph during extended periods. The power lasts for five minutes before the effect disappears, the wings turning into a simple raggedy cloak once more.
Status: Claimed by Arcanafang

I will allow you guys to make the first choice: Please choose ONE only. We will divide the remainder up later between NPC's or so.

hehe not bad, do you think that the sorcerer would have a spellbook for Wren?

as for the listed items I think shadowstalk would be best for Wren^^

edit oh oops^^ I guess Wingwrap then. though I would prefer a spellbook. maybe have some nice dark magic in it.

Winterhair

Yeah, sorry about that. Jeff claimed it over IM. I'll put that you claimed Wingwrap. If he did have a spellbook, however, he never used it past the point of mastery over the arts, so it would be in a separate place than his tomb. However, you can quest for it another time, if you'd like. c: The sorcerer I had in mind though was more cleric-ish, but eh, creative leeway right?

The Bloody Son

Maybe we can set up a little quest to help her out afterwards? Get her some good character stuff and some experience for us too. ;D

Winterhair

Indeed, she can use the map she finds on the body of the sorcerer and be all "Hey guys, look-eee's here, I found ya'll a map!" The minstrel would be intrigued, definitely. Oh, if Mithra doesn't take it, the minstrel is going to take Shatterquake.

EDITS: Mithra took Windcleaver, so if anyone doesn't have any objections my NPC Samantha will take Fangspeed. I also lay claim to Firesnipe. Soss the Mop, the minstrel, will take Shatterquake.

That would rock, because then we could do a Part Deuce for more sexy quest items. n_n!

hehe I'm game for that too^^

I am rather liking the idea of Lightswing, if it matters. Though I'm about to go see Wall-E, so I'll talk more later. We can figure something though.I wouldn't mind waiting for a second quest if it matters or something like that.

hey I can do more than one quest, we can work something out ourselves Colin, it's been a while since we had a thread together and I would love to RP with you again.

You should relabel this the OOC (Out of Character) thread for the Ruin Raid.

And we can just communicate about the thread as a group here OOCly.

You might have to hold onto the second quest unless Winter gives the Okay.
Getting too many people in the quest will bog the plot though because we'll be waiting on 5 extra people to post, soon enough.

So far, I think 4 is good - personally.

If Mithra doesn't post for some reason or another, then sure as hell Maia can join. I'll PM you Maia with the heads up or down. I'll go ahead and say "Claim Pending" on Lightswing.

EDIT: Mithra posted, so the spot's filled, sorry. However, if you'd like you can get it in part two or something. How does that sound Maia?

I'll try to reach Arcana, but I haven't seen him around in a while. Not on AIM either. If he doesn't say anything in a week or so, I'll ask a mod to delete his post and have Maia join.

I'm really sorry for not posting. the last 3 days were hell for me and I just couldn't write at all. I'm really sorry.

Its fine with me, bugged the hell out of the B.Son, though. I'm fine with it, just as long as you are still in the thread.

Mithra Reborn, I had a couple issues with your last post. Your bringing in Soss the Mop was fine and dandy, but please let me know beforehand what you plan on doing with him, just as if you were to bunny a player character. This goes for everyone else too. I'm sorry to be picky, but I had something specific in mind for ol' Soss. I should have mentioned this before, but with the lack of activity the thread sort of died down in the back of my mind. I'll point out the little things I want you to change.

The Dragon's Breath was packed, there were no two ways around it. It had a mustiness to it, from the dwarfs in the corner smoking from long, intricately carven pipes of different woods, some with precious jewels inset. Candles burned from every corner of the room, but still left it a little dim. She saw many bards in the corner. One particularly green one noticed her, and came before her feet with a swirl of his red cloak. "My dear lady, this world knows no greater travesty than to see such a fair maiden's face be marred." He took her hand and kissed it lightly, a rosewood harp in his other hand.

He looked a cocky lad from Corone, with youthful blue eyes, pale skinned with freckles, and flaming red hair that tumbled passed his ears in large curls. His hands were curiously soft to her calloused hands. His smile was wide, with white teeth, and not that bad of one yet.

First off, it is the Orc's Breath, not the Dragon's Breath. Secondly, he does not uses a redwood harp. Rather, he carries a huge banjo upon his back, as he is a huge man. Wood is up to you. Thirdly, his speech was good, but you kind of threw me off with him singing Greensleeves. I'd prefer it if you didn't use a RL song and rather made one up of your own, as Soss hasn't been to Earth at all.

As to his appearance. He is a large man, a HUGE man as a matter of fact. Larger than Vincent, a bit. He has a huge barrel chest with lots of manly hair curling from a brown shirt he wears, and wears baggyish pants as well. Upon his head he wears no hat, as to highlight the "mop" of brown hair he has, thus his nickname. His eyes are brown as well. You can keep the red cloak though, I liked that part.

Please make those changes and post here once you are done.
