Name: Peng-Shi
Age: 25
Race: Werewolf (transforms every night)
Hair Color: Darkish brown.
Eye Color: Yellow
Height: Tall. 6'5" or thereabouts
Weight: Heavy. But it's just all that muscle, she swears.
Occupation: Martial artist
Personality: Peng-Shi is unbelievably arrogant and thinks the world of herself. She has a typical military persona, loves to be in charge and believes that she is always, always right. Because of this, she has held quite a successful job of teaching youngsters in martial arts, but ended up quitting because she was 'sick of the little buggers'. She has no interest whatsoever in men (or, for that matter, women) and finds love to be 'foolish and meaningless'. Peng-Shi is big on tradition, and is merciless to anyone who dares disrespect the lores and traditions of kung fu, karate and pretty much any other oriental way of fighting. Deeply ashamed of her affliction, she never reveals in a conversation that she is a werewolf and hides away at night, terrified that someone might find her. It obviously hasn't occurred to her that no one would recognise her anyway. People find her quite hard to talk to on account of her formal and at times cold demeanor. She also has a bad habit of correcting people, quite sharply at times, and has reduced many a sensitive child to tears. Fairly good at martial arts, she is energetic and outdoorsy, loving to train in the mountains and under waterfalls. You know, achieving the zen mode and all that. Her aim is to become a legend of kung fu and karate, a dream which is a long way in coming, considering she hasn't even reached her black belt in karate. This often frustrates her, and she dislikes talking to anyone who is better in any way at anything by her. She mistrusts weapons, preferring to rely on her own skill and strengh. Even though she is not violent and is not easily stimulated into battle, she is irritated very easily and detests young children.
However, she can be quite easily placated with an offer of food. Peng-Shi loves food. Anything savory is often the best, with plenty of sauces and flavour. She doesn't find cakes and pastries so appealing, but has never turned down an offer yet. Her favourite food happens to be chinese cabbage dumplings. Unfortunately, she can't cook to save her life, which clearly causes problems with her personal welfare. She often makes up for lost meals during her nightly transformations, however.
Appearance: Peng-Shi has high, strong cheekbones and small, slanty eyes. She is not pretty, and has a certain masculinity in her face. This is not helped by the fact that she is pretty muscly, and does not hold the slender, curvy figure of a beautiful women. Her shoulders are quite broad, her stomach incredibly flat but with no curves to the hips at all. Her hair is dark and shiny, but it's probably because it's so greasy. She wears it twisted into a tight bun at the back of her head, and has thick bangs over her forehead. To her intense frustration, her eyes retain the eerie yellow colour that is typical of the werewolf, even when she is human. She wears silk chinese-style trousers that puff out around the calf and a typical red cheongsam (chinese vest) embroidered with a golden dragon on the back. Her feet bear dainty little pink slippers.
As a wolf, she is large and sinewy, with long, muscular legs and thick, matted dark hair. Unlike a true wolf, her species of werewolf is quite ugly, with a long snout and small eyes. She is extremely large, almost the size of a carthorse, which makes it hard for her to remain inconspicious, something that irritates her no end. Her ears are large and pointed, her teeth yellowed and curved, hanging ungracefully over her black lips. The hair on her neck is especially thick and long, giving the frightening appearance of a dirty, unkempt mane.

History: Peng-Shi's father was a skilled bo-staff wielder and a master carpenter. He taught his daughter the basics of cabinet making, but she soon demanded that he teach her how to kill a man with nothing but a rake. It was her mother that recognised her daughter's potential and paid for the karate classes. Peng-shi's father was deeply disappointed that his daughter was not going to continue the family business and run a carpentry stall of her own, but he was keen to encourage her in her fighting and enrolled her not only in kung fu but also aikido and judo. Needless to say, Peng-Shi had great trouble keeping up with all four at once, and fell behind in her classes. However, she worked hard and grew to love the spirit and tradition behind martial arts. Sadly, her tutoring was interrupted when war hit her country, and her family was forced to move out of their little mountain home and travel to safer regions. They were smuggled illegally across a border and ended up in a reasonably comfortably refugee camp. Here, Peng-Shi's father salvaged a large amount of books on the medieval orient and read to her about the samurais of old. Her mother was not happy about this, but Peng-Shi's father had always longed for a son and was delighted that his daughter was turning out to be such a tomboy. As for Peng-Shi, she lapped the stories up and rapidly became obsessed with war and fighting.
When she went to her mother and told of her dream to start a karate war, her mother was horrified and banned her daughter from any more violent stories or activities. For the next month, Peng-Shi was restricted to housework, but refused to learn cooking to spite her mother. Thankfully, the war ended before long, but they could no longer return home; their country had lost, and their home was under enemy control. The family settled and started a new life. Peng-Shi rekindled her martial art training, and decided that her new dream would be to become a legend at martial arts, rather than start a karate war (which, to be honest, was a stupid dream).
Peng-Shi, now 12, never learnt the rule of not staying out after dark. No matter how many times her mother warned her, she always forgot herself and ended up coming home extremely late after training. The forests and mountains, though beautiful, were thick with werewolves, chimeras, manticores and tigers. Peng-Shi's own grandfather had been taken by a manticore before she was born. One night, she got unlucky, and found herself wandering a moonlit forest clearing. She was confident; this had happened lots of times, and nothing had happened before. Besides, she was only twelve, and full of the careless arrogance of youth, the belief that nothing bad could happen to her. Consequently, she was rather surprised to find herself under attack from a rather large and ugly wolf. Her kung fu teacher had warned her about times such as these, about what to do and how to escape. Instead, Peng-Shi completely panicked and just ran as fast as she could, not a good idea when you're being pursued by a werewolf. Her parents, worried about her absence, came out to find their daughter. They found her, bleeding and mauled, at the foot of the mountain and carried her home. Peng-Shi was saved thanks to the prodigious skill of the local doctor, but her parents were only too aware what would happen to their daughter the next night. She was confined to a single locked room and local villagers were put outside, lest the monster tried to escape. And it very nearly did, too. No one had been savaged by a werewolf for 23 years, and so the village was very out of touch in how to deal with the beasts. Peng-Shi howled and roared all night, but at last dawn came, and with it, the blessed transformation back into human. Peng-Shi's parents were frightened and ashamed of their daughter's affliction, and though they continued to love her unconditionally, they kept her isolated and apart, for the safety of the others. Every night, they controlled her, until eventually she learned to control herself and it was safe to leave the werewolf in a room on her own.
Eventually, Peng-Shi left home at 18, to get a job at a famous kung fu school as a teacher. She was happy there for a year, but eventually quit, on the grounds that she just couldn't stand teaching the children a moment longer.
Skills: Stength - lithe and muscular, as a result of martial art training. Skilled at karate, kung fu, tae kwon do and aikido, but is far from being a master at any of them. Strength 1.5x that of a normal human.
Powerful in werewolf form, strong jaws, teeth and shoulders but weak at jumping and pouncing. Cannot move easily unless in open spaces due to large size.
Weaponry - useless with any form on sword, gun, bow and arrow or dagger. Has some basic experience with bo-staffs.
Speed - fast and agile, enjoys somersaulting and leaping around. (As a werewolf, she is strong but extremely ungainly, isn't agile or maneuverable, tends to trip over her own paws if she runs downhill or too fast.)
Equipment: Carries no equipment, save a small pocket guide to edible plants and a tiny silk pouch containing meditation balls (small but heavy, half the size of a golf ball, dark blue decorated with red leaves and make a pleasant jingling sound.)
