I just found this hilarious when I realized it. I head on NPR on the way home today that some Senator (Ted Stevens of Alaska) was indicted for not reporting gifts given to him by a number of lobbyists seeking to influence him in appropriations. They apparently helped renovate his house and the amounts of money were just huge.

Yawn, yawn, politicians are corrupt, who cares? If you do, here (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=93045719)

Then it dawned on me once I got home. This is not just any senator. This is the Series of Tubes guy, who famously described the internet during hearings on the Net Neutrality Bill as, "not like a big truck" but rather a "series of tubes".

I just thought it was lulz, and probably more likely to brighten someone's day than a debate on abortion laws.

For anyone who missed the boat (or big truck), Series of Tubes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f99PcP0aFNE)

Haha, I wondered why it was such a big deal about an Alaskan senator getting the shaft. I've heard a little bit about that famous saying of his, though I usually just chalk it up to the useless, political drivel that usually pours out of Washington.

And your right, this is a bit more entertaining than reading about someone trying to take the moral high ground on a dead, tepid issue.

Oh, also there's a new series of things (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Image:Series_of_Bars.jpg) he needs to worry about.

This is nothing. A cop near my town is being charged with stealing a garden hose. It made front page news. The NAACP is out in force and everything. They think he stole a damn garden hose and they want to try him and everything.
