About Alerar...

I don't know if any of Alerar's info threads are still valid to be asked questions in, so I'm just going to make one here.

As is well known, Esmerelda is possibly the most advanced technology on all of Althanas. Her programmer is safe, serving with the Aibrone monks repaying them for ressurecting him.

As of my Prison Break! thread, Alerar, the most advanced nation on Althanas, has come to notice Esmerelda's existence. They know she's an advanced machine of some sort, but that's all they know. It'd be like coming accross a highly advanced UFO in a field somewhere in RL, we know it's an advanced machine of some sort, but that's all we know.

Now, Alerar's intrested in studying Esmerelda. They have her in a prison for "research purposes" until better arrangements can be made. Esmerelda's going to escape this prison. This much I know, I have my thread fairly well planned, but afterwards is where I need some info I can't find.

Does Alerar have a sort of Black Ops group, a secret group not known to the public at large that undertakes special missions? Esmerelda's presence is known by some few Alerarians in high positions of power, and all who know of her want her secrets to further Alerar's knowledge, for the good of the nation of course.

See, I want a series of threads that involve her being chased by this secret group, and their repeated efforts to get Esmerelda. Their even going to higher mercenaries a couple of times to help them. (I'll work it out with intrested PG's at the time.)

So, any advice?

Alerar is without a writer at the moment (this is a problem we're working on) but past writers have had a couple different groups like the one you're looking for. It seems the information has since been taken down, so I imagine they were underused. Really, it's fine if you make up such a group for the purposes of your story (and I say that as Regions Admin.) Whatever sort of official group like that we have will be decided when we've fixed the whole Alerar situation. We may even end up using yours if it catches on IC.

Well, with that in mind, here's what I'll do:

I'll create such a group that Dr. Enias is apart of. I'll say that with the assasination of the queen, all hell broke loose behind the scenes and the group that was, seperated into different factions. Not all of them are loyal to to the crown, not all are loyal to Alerar, it's the sort of situation that provides for plenty of storylines, and needs a strong leader to resolve.

Now, when a region writer is selected and approved for Alerar, he/she can take it in whatever manner he/she wishes without worrying about stepping on anyone's toes. I know Dr. Enias's group can easily be absorbed into the new group without too much trouble, or heck, if they become the new group, the other groups can be taken care of on a case by case basis. Dr. Enias's group is loyal both to the crown, and the nation, so there's no reason to finger them for treason or disband them, yet. I can bend easily with whatever develops. My original intent was to work within the frame of what had already been developed, and assumed Alerar had a region writer, but now I'll make my own frame, yet be bendable enough to work with whomever assumes Alerar's throne oocly.

I know I want another character of mine to actually become employed by Alerar as a scientist, in a few levels, but by then, surely Alerar will have a region writer.

Anyways, enough babbling from me, back to story telling.
