Name: Loch M. Wescott
Age: 5 years physically; mentally, much older.
Race: Domestic cat
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Gold
Height: 2'
Weight: 13 lbs
Occupation: Private detective.

Appearance:
A handsome fellow as cats go, large with dense medium-long fur very soft to touch, and a longer ruff circling his neck. His tail is plumed and quite bushy, and the tall pointed ears sitting atop his angular head are tufted. Loch can walk either on all fours or in a bipedal fashion, which he prefers more than the former. He is not much for wearing clothing but does own some vests and a custom-made, if slightly worn grey fedora with a red silk band.

History:
Loch's existence is in itself strange, but he had perfectly ordinary beginnings. His mother was a normal alley cat scraping a living in the gutters of Radasanth, and the four other kittens who shared his litter were nothing unusual. He was different, with an extraordinary intelligence and a knack for memorisation from day one, and an odd body that afforded enormous dexterity in the paws and the ability to move about upright without strain.

He never did find out just why she did it, but to this day Loch blames himself for his mother's abandonment a mere week after their birth. He must have scared her. Luckily, the kittens were found and taken in by an old widow who went by Carolina Wescott. She was kind and kept a lovely garden, but she was terribly lonely. People feared her to be a witch.

Carolina immediately recognised the little white runt for what he was. His brothers and sisters - Aldwyn, Byme, Bethseda, and Aethelreda, respectably - were kept as companions, but he was named after her deceased husband and raised as a son. She taught him everything she knew; basic arithmetic, how to read and write, how to bake a mean bread pudding, how to speak Common. Loch was not perceptive to every lesson - baking in particular - but he was an excellent student in the subjects that interested him, obtaining proficiency in skills remarkably quickly. It was apparent from early on that he had an insatiable curiousity and a great love of puzzle solving. The local library knew him as a regular.

Around his fourth birthday, Carolina was mugged on her way home from the market. A pendant that was extremely dear to her was taken, however the authorities would not be bothered to find the thief. Loch took it upon himself to recover the pendant for her. As it turned out, he was not half bad at the whole sleuthing business and was able to track down the thief within a matter of weeks. Loch ratted out the man's residence, where not only was Carolina's pendant found, but also a cache of various other valuable items that had recently been stolen.

It wasn't long after this before people began coming to Loch for help in finding missing belongings, sometimes even asking him to spy on partners suspected of disloyalty and investigating residences for illicit activities. Being a cat gave him a bit of an advantage. As his popularity grew, Loch eventually worked out a system and asked his clients for payment, most of which was given to Carolina, who had been living off what little her husband had willed to her. He continues the job to this day, although he can't help but feel that there is more he should be doing.

Skills:

Catlike - Loch possesses the agility, flexibility, stealthiness, and heightened senses that come naturally to his species. He can also 'speak' Cat, although he is not very good at it.
Strength - His strength is above average as measured in what is normal for cats. The most he can lift at this time is approximately six pounds.
Knife fighting - Loch is graded as average in defending himself with a single knife.

Equipment:
When he travels, he tends to bring along his two vests, coloured red and brown, his hat, a journal and writing utensils, the appropriate rations, a rudimentary first aid kit, and his switchblade. The rest of his possessions are stored in his room at Carolina's residence and consist of two shelves of volumes and assorted miscellaneous junk he has collected over the years, including a musty stuffed owl missing an eyeball.
