Personality: Tavarus is a bit under-confident, and is amused immensely when he accomplishes in frightening someone (or something). He is fairly unsociable and will speak to someone only if the conversation will help him in accomplishing his own selfish tasks. He is not evil, yet he is not willing to jump in to fight for the greater good without cause.
Appearance: Tavarus is a reasonably ancient wraith, and so is frightening to your average person. He is large and intimidating, but is not nearly as powerful as he looks. Due to his size and ghostly figure, he obviously will not fit into the average crowd.
History: Though he himself knows nothing of his earthly past, Tavarus was once a human and corrupt king. He had been “advised” by a deceitful council of mages, whose goal was to discretely overthrow Tavarus to gain their own power over the land and people, unhappy with the measly amount of power they were given as Tavarus’ advisors. They told Tavarus, who was an accomplished military leader, to expand his territory by conquering nearby kingdoms. This was done quite carefully, and the mages employed every drop of guile and trickery they could muster in order to convince him of their own reasoning and designs. For several years, Tavarus was their puppet, sending his rising number of involuntary soldiers, sometimes led by Tavarus himself, to conquer new territory. Gradually, Tavarus became corrupt and genuinely power hungry due to the council’s influence. Needless to say, he also became greatly despised by his once loyal people. Nine years after the council of mages began their plans, Tavarus was assassinated. Directly after the killing, one of the deceitful mages was stricken by what had come of their seemingly glorious plan. This man felt guilty for all of the suffering he had helped to bring about, and being a mage of considerable power, he began the nearly impossible series of spells that could bring life back to the fallen king. Yet, even this powerful mage was incapable of such a task as resurrection. However, his spells did have some effect. A tall, grim wraith was extracted from Tavarus’ newly lifeless body as a product of the mage’s endeavors. The mage fled when he saw this figure. This ghost of Tavarus, as a result of his reviver’s inexperience, had no memory of his earlier life. Tavarus now wanders the land, in search of possible leads to what may have happened in his past life, and feeding his constant hunger for fear.
Skills: Tavarus has the ability to turn into a dark, dusty material in order to fit through small cracks or for a means of generally convenient and stealthy movement (but only for thirty seconds, three times a day).
He is a smooth talker and is rather good at obtaining what he wants.
He is able to send dark pulses of energy through his fingertips at close-range targets (these send quick painful jolts through the taget's body and have a small chance of stunning targets momentarily).
Equipment: Soulcleaver (this is a respectably large steel war hammer and battle axe combination that is capable of cutting through one’s very soul) His Skill is slightly Above Average with Soulcleaver.
Five five-inch iron throwing knives (his skill is Below Average in these)
