For those of you wondering about the Featured Quest, here's the deal: it is currently in Chapter 2. And as a special addition, there's a new prize: the best threads will be awarded "canon status" at the conclusion of Chapter 2!
Chapter 2 is intended to be a much more free-form experience; there will not be extensive moderator involvement in pushing the storyline or shaping the events. There are no significant "special" storylines, except as individual moderators may choose. I wasn't sure how many of our players were aware of this, though, so I thought I'd make this announcement.
Players are encouraged to take over chapter 2 and make it their own. Read the summaries from Like Lambs to the Slaughter (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=13171) and the Synopsis of Escape from Raiaera (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=13870). You might also take a look at the Suggested Storylines (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=17030) for Chapter 2 -- Raiaera's are up now, and Salvar's will be up soon.
Chapter 2 will be closed on November 15th, at which point any uncompleted threads will be moved from the Chapter and into their respective regions. At that time, any storyline which adapts itself from one of the Missions Board posts may be submitted via a special thread for adjudication, and the highest scoring Missions threads will receive "canon status." In cases of conflict, the higher scores will win! The continent moderators will have a small tilt of +/- 5 points in determining canonicity, but a good score will make the tilt immaterial.
