Greetings and Salutations before i go into the profile a little background information:
I have role played with this character on other forums before so this initial layout won't be a 100% match up to your system, but I would like to adapt it to this forum on the basis of a recommendation from a friend on that forum.
I WILL want to edit this before final approval (among other things his history feels a bit 'off' to me but it explains the important parts) but initially i'd just like feedback on if you feel the overall scheme seems weird, plus what level to scale his magic to.
Please note he is adaptable and can be scaled up or down without any real damage to his overall position in my eyes.
Now then thanks for reading this, on with the show!

_______________
Silas
Element: Earth, Lightning I am aware elements are not needed in this setting however these represent his 2 specialties of old, making them the spells he is most likely to use or reacquire
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Height: 70cm
Length: 100 cm (without beak), 140 (with)
Appearance: Golden Brown Kiwi
Species: Earthran Kiwi (now extinct other than himself)
Feather colour: seasonal… white in winter/cold (takes a month to come through fully)
brown in high summer, golden brown in between.
Residence: Forests.
Size: Small
Weight: 30 kilos
Age: unknown over 2,000 years
Apparent age: Adult
Personality:
Old as mountains (no seriously, there are volcanoes that are now inactive younger than Silas, and he’s climbed some of them) Silas has developed a wisdom beyond comparison. His experiences have been so diverse that no longer do new situations cause alarm but instead curiosity. Above all Silas detests the destruction of lives, forests, the burning of the plains although he accepts the need to build houses and burn wood, he wishes that folk could learn to log sustainably as he taught them once rather than just cutting down the tree nearest your place.
Silas has a beef with religious types who preach around, and while believes the gods are real disagrees with the claims the gods are perfect, the gods care about us all and the other ‘make people feel valued’ aspect of religions claims. This is because Silas has seen the acts committed in gods names, and on a few occasions he has noted a trend suggesting gods do exist, but their motives are anything but what is preached by their priests. Perhaps more importantly he has lived long enough to see the change in the races some going from peace loving to violent and others do the opposite. Silas seems to distrust humans, although he never explains why nor does it seem appropriate to ask the small fellow, but it is perhaps of such a turn of events in the past.
Silas worships no Deity nor aligns himself with any race
Silas appears to have a liking for Dwarves and elves, and has strict dislikes for vampires, and daemons but draconic creatures he also an aversion to.
Other:
Intelligence: assuming most humans, elves and such are normal… HIGH
Clothing: wears a satchel to carry things, generally containing various herbs from the area's he's been in recently
Weapons:
Talons:
Powerful claws, capable of breaking a man’s femur, tipped with sharp claws, a pair of lethal weapons that can destroy armour, they cannot parry blows however… as they’re not armoured.
Armour penetration is due to their sharp nature (such as wooden arrows penetrating steel plate) strength is found in compact frame but the overall hardness of the Talons is only on the level of soft iron, or perhaps Brass, yes this is harder than most of nature, but Earthran kiwis are.
what do you think of their strength? up/down?
Beak:
While it can be used to deflect a weapon it is generally not used in combat, after all it is his nose.
Probably harder than his talons, about bronze
think of it as a quarterstaff attached to your face, it can stop a blade but heck it will hurt, it's hardly a shield
Armour:
Feathers
Regenerate… 1 week to fully replace with these natural characteristics
Leather amour equivalence (tougher than most animal skin when alive)
Spells:
Earth
Technique:
Silas must place his beak in the ground to cast many of these spells, so that he improves his ‘connectivity’ with the earth itself. This means he is stationary and unable to attack with his natural weapons when casting…
Stone Skin (defence Core)
makes feathers and skin beneath take 1/2 damage compared to normal to slashing and pierce attacks and 3/4 (1/4 absorbed) against spells other than water (ice excluded it’s solid and hence ‘earthen’)… duration 1 hour. This spell doesn't require to be 'earthed'
Earth of the deep:
These abilities require Silas to connect himself.
Stoning to the death (offence)
Causes fist sized portions of rock to pummel the opponent.
Highly effective against an unarmoured opponent, and can break bones with correct hits.
Earth wave (other)
sends a pulse of motion rippling through the ground, can cause opponents to lose their footing and thus leave them unprepared for oncoming attacks
(boulder cannon goes into storage)
Lightning
His deep past with lightning is well documented, and no specific technique is common, however they often 'present' and are aimed by his 2 feet or beak (remember kiwi wings are nearly non existent.)
Telementry (core skill)
Silas can use his powers to toy with nerve impulses of the subject at hand, insufficient to cause harm, however he can create or mute sounds a subject he is watching should be able to hear.
This ability gives Silas the ability to 'speak' and was learned a very long time ago.
There is no way to 'listen in' without exceptional lightning knowledge which can detect the modulation of the magical signal.
Electro-shield (defence)
provides protection against attacks, does damage to nearby creatures (<1m) when struck by the scattering of earthing sparks, has a moderate chance (atm thinking 25%) to deflect magical attacks, and resist magical fires and the like. Deflects ninja stars and other flat spinning objects from their intended course by induced electrical repulsion. This spell can be cast on others. This is the anti predator spell he casts when he goes to sleep (you bite an electric fence sometime), and casts second if he thinks there is trouble.
Static charging (core)
Causes objects to gain a static charge (attractive), and attracted to the area with the opposite charge… can be used to: slow opponents, cause running opponents to trip (stick a foot to the ground ) {10 kilos/use}, stick a person to a wall/the ceiling {weight/use} (important note, it takes significant amounts more energy to make it LIFT with this than to stick.), stick other objects to the ceiling/wall/floor weight, metals and those in plate armour cause half effectiveness {double weight/use}. {150 kilos per day}
Electro-levitation (core)
Causes objects to gain a static charge (repulsive), which allows Silas to pick objects up, but does not allow him to wield them, but uses induced static electricity to levitate objects <10 kilos into the air… half effectiveness in metallic objects.
Lightening blade is moved to storage.
(Pulse in storage)
(Combined spells in storage)
History:
2 months work, and now finalised.
Born in times unremembered, to parents long forgotten, the age of Silas is unknown by any of the greater races, it is believed Silas knows of a few events from when he was young that might be able to place what century he was born in, but persistent questioning from various druids of the past has yielded nothing.
Silas has a memory incomparable among all known races (even – or so it is said – among the mighty dragons), and is believed to have origins in a civilisation unknown to others, as he seems to pre-date the elvish war of the tap, yet no known human settlements occurred in that era. Silas speaks of magical relics such as disks that ‘fly’ over water that are unheard of in any history recorded, but it is commonly agreed that if Silas was alive during the war he was not one of the Forgotten Ones or their minions, nor that he at that stage sided with the elves.
Believed to have been one of the most prominent Biological and lightning mages of his era, he pioneered a treatment to defeat time itself, originally developing the treatment to save his dying familiar from a horrible disease. Having managed (barely) to replicate the effects of the treatment on him, with poisons considered lethal and working with toxins at levels believed to be deadly Silas overcame nature’s greatest destroyer, freeing himself from the effects of time through means misunderstood by even his own compatriots of the age.
When word spread of Silas’s method, many prominent figures such as kings decided that they themselves should live forever, unburdened by age, however Silas was reluctant to attempt the procedure on any others, suspecting the process would be far too dangerous, even when he had successfully achieved it upon himself. Silas’s attempts to protect others yielded the wrong kind of attention, and a certain nobleman managed to blackmail Silas into manhandling the procedure for his own benefit, and hardly kept it quiet after he forced Silas’s agreement, attracting the attention of many.
Unfortunately for Silas his own concerns regarding the dangers of the process proved well founded, the nobleman dying upon his table after only 3 days of the treatment. The nobleman being an important figure in the town, and the curious parties now fairly sure the idea was a method to kill with freedom, Silas was forced to leave his home, with the law hot on his heels even if the individuals who enacted it disagreed with the motives behind the order for his capture.
Silas successfully escaped his home nation and spent the following years exploring the world and learning of the various plants that live within it, his already prestigious knowledge of Biological magic’s growing gradually, and nothing of great importance changed within the next few hundred years or so, of course thanks to Silas’s helpful spirit lead to word spreading of a great healer with treatments for most of the afflictions of the day, and holy men, kings and the like started sending messages to him requesting his assistance, for unlike others, he had a reputation for saving all of his patients, although he humbly admitted before treating anyone that all of his patients would survive, but he hoped to save more than would be saved without help.
Silas eventually tired of this interest in his affairs and moved on, travelling over the seas by magical means to explore various lands and learn more of the world, Silas added to his knowledge even more, even learning of medicinal herbs in lands where the various races had not yet discovered or visited, before moving on to visit yet more of the world.
When Silas finally settled down with his familiar again it was inside the borders of a land of the elves, who due to their longer life spans grew to like him significantly more than some of the other races he had encountered, and doing his good work learned of the various treatments and aids available to him for the elves, their needs being different from the humans with whom he had been born among and treated over the centuries, the Elves even gave him a elvish name but he has never spoken it in knowledgeable memory, perhaps because the name is still remembered among elves and he does not wish to be associated with it, or perhaps it is because of the damage history wrought not long after.
Silas moved on before war broke out, and was unaffected by it, instead returning to wandering the land exploring among cities long forgotten paths now vanished and through kingdoms now remembered only by the stones in their ruins. Some of the stories told by Silas suggest it was during this time he befriended several dwarven kingdoms resulting in his allowance to explore underground, learning of the nature of those plants beneath the earth, living in the eternal darkness of the underground, or the twilight created by other species there, while there it is suggested that he had discovered one of the most potent cures in dwarven knowledge (name secret from other races) used (diluted) as an ‘first treatment’ for most infections and afflictions, before switching to other drugs in the event it doesn’t make a noticeable difference.
While underground, most likely in the lands of Haidia according to the description in those records made from the last time he told the story, Silas came upon a dwarven town under attack by demonic forces, and Silas outraged by the nature of the creatures’ attack and subsequent pillaging, flew into a rage, striking down all of the demons leaving the villagers unharmed, before continuing on to obliterate all demons he came across, in turn attracting those characters of strength and honour (evidence suggests these are forgotten dwarven heroes whose history was lost with the later invasion) before eventually locating the commander of this (according to most scholars) early strike and destroying him causing all the remainders of the force to flee.
Following this vicious destruction Silas felt significantly effected by the senseless killing, choosing to isolate himself until he fell back into natures rhythms, spending the next few centuries in unrecognisable locations based on those tales he speaks of from these times, suggesting the places are again forgotten to the world, or that he was in places that have changed considerably since he was there last. An example of an unrecognised description is that of the plants with leaves like blankets that capture living creatures in the forest and hold them till they die. Silas left the tunnels citing that underground there was always a feeling of being ‘trapped’ and having little choice on what he could do.
Following returning to the surface Silas is said to have visited and made contact to many other races, including the Fae, dragons as well as just about every species upon the surface, Silas knows of the vampires and their habits but is adamant he never ‘assisted’ the race which he claims are a race that simply feeds off the lives of others, never creating, simply replicating. This is in turn disputed by those few vampires who have heard of this, but this has never put off Silas, who states ‘you can wrap a shit in gold, and it will be valuable, but it still is a shit’
Silas settled again in a realm, which nationality and race is debated, various races claiming ownership, and every scholar has their own pick, but it is generally agreed it wasn’t the dwarves for it wasn’t underground, nor the Fae, who Silas had chosen for a spell (following an argument, duration said to be ~500 years) to avoid. It was then that a small demon with a weak power who had stalked him for this entire time, before finding Silas vulnerable.
Silas had discovered a method to allow him to ‘split’ from himself and possess his familiar, and had done so, leaving his body in apparent sleep but without the defences of his own powerful mind. The demon took up this chance, his only power being that of being able to dominate the minds of others, taking control of Silas’s body and his latent power and using it to attack and destroy all he could. Silas only realised something had happened once he had returned home, and he immediately set out to recover his body, although initially Silas didn’t understand what had happened.
Details regarding what followed are sketchier than even the rest of Silas’s past, Silas doesn’t like talking of what happened, and the devastation caused by the demon controlling one of the most powerful bodies in the world left no survivors to create histories, but it is clear that even when Silas had found and destroyed the demon, Silas’s body had been corrupted, and it’s mind in shambles leaving himself with no choice but do kill ‘himself’, which he only managed to do following adapting to sharing and controlling his present body with his familiar.
Silas states that the location of this final battle is still scarred to the current day, however no suitable locations are known of, but given Silas’s accurate depiction of the locations of lost civilisations that he encountered and similar aspects, there is no doubt that he is most likely correct, and tucked away in an unknown valley far from current civilisation there is a place where the ground is charred white, and lightning bolts of coloured glass that zigzag the surface of the ground are punctuated by large pillars of rock and boulders that were launched at great speed, the ground uninhabitable by any living thing bar a single plant 3 inches high that sits near the centre with a pretty purple bloom that appears on a single day each year.
Silas has lost his skill with manipulating living things now, but hasn’t lost his skills in herbology, although his discovering new species of plant is somewhat hampered by the lack of hands, so he hasn’t created any new potions recently. The time passed since he destroyed his body has been sufficient that Silas and his familiars mind have ‘melded’ and become one and the same, his skill with telepathy has been ‘altered’ meaning he trips the hairs within the ears of those around him to replicate sounds and noise, but his abilities are hardly limited to this.
With centuries of lack of practice like most people have years of life, Silas has forgotten much of his terrific power, although the power does remain ‘on tap’ and with some practice can be recovered, which given the power of the enemies of Athenas, may just tip the balance in their favour, if he recovers the skill in time.
Silas had most recently called the jungles of Luthmor home, known to but a few fae who he encountered when out foraging for worms and beetles but has no important part participated or made it clear who/what he is to them, instead enjoying his solitude, however with the change of balance of the last few years Silas has noted the ‘change in the air’ and feels darkness is starting to penetrate even into this land of life, and has set out in order to work out what’s going on, and hopefully – without fighting – prevent more corruption and chaos, however given the residents of this worlds violent tendencies, it seems that discussion with a being ‘aeons’ old would even be unable to prevent the upcoming outbreak, and that in fact, Silas is going to have to fight once again and bring destruction of many to prevent the corruption of all.
I have role played with this character on other forums before so this initial layout won't be a 100% match up to your system, but I would like to adapt it to this forum on the basis of a recommendation from a friend on that forum.
