Greetings and Salutations before i go into the profile a little background information:

I have role played with this character on other forums before so this initial layout won't be a 100% match up to your system, but I would like to adapt it to this forum on the basis of a recommendation from a friend on that forum.

I WILL want to edit this before final approval (among other things his history feels a bit 'off' to me but it explains the important parts) but initially i'd just like feedback on if you feel the overall scheme seems weird, plus what level to scale his magic to.

Please note he is adaptable and can be scaled up or down without any real damage to his overall position in my eyes.

Now then thanks for reading this, on with the show!

_______________
Silas

Element: Earth, Lightning I am aware elements are not needed in this setting however these represent his 2 specialties of old, making them the spells he is most likely to use or reacquire
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Height: 70cm
Length: 100 cm (without beak), 140 (with)
Appearance: Golden Brown Kiwi
Species: Earthran Kiwi (now extinct other than himself)
Feather colour: seasonal… white in winter/cold (takes a month to come through fully)
brown in high summer, golden brown in between.
Residence: Forests.
Size: Small
Weight: 30 kilos
Age: unknown over 2,000 years
Apparent age: Adult

Personality:
Old as mountains (no seriously, there are volcanoes that are now inactive younger than Silas, and he’s climbed some of them) Silas has developed a wisdom beyond comparison. His experiences have been so diverse that no longer do new situations cause alarm but instead curiosity. Above all Silas detests the destruction of lives, forests, the burning of the plains although he accepts the need to build houses and burn wood, he wishes that folk could learn to log sustainably as he taught them once rather than just cutting down the tree nearest your place.
Silas has a beef with religious types who preach around, and while believes the gods are real disagrees with the claims the gods are perfect, the gods care about us all and the other ‘make people feel valued’ aspect of religions claims. This is because Silas has seen the acts committed in gods names, and on a few occasions he has noted a trend suggesting gods do exist, but their motives are anything but what is preached by their priests. Perhaps more importantly he has lived long enough to see the change in the races some going from peace loving to violent and others do the opposite. Silas seems to distrust humans, although he never explains why nor does it seem appropriate to ask the small fellow, but it is perhaps of such a turn of events in the past.
Silas worships no Deity nor aligns himself with any race
Silas appears to have a liking for Dwarves and elves, and has strict dislikes for vampires, and daemons but draconic creatures he also an aversion to.

Other:
Intelligence: assuming most humans, elves and such are normal… HIGH
Clothing: wears a satchel to carry things, generally containing various herbs from the area's he's been in recently

Weapons:
Talons:
Powerful claws, capable of breaking a man’s femur, tipped with sharp claws, a pair of lethal weapons that can destroy armour, they cannot parry blows however… as they’re not armoured.
Armour penetration is due to their sharp nature (such as wooden arrows penetrating steel plate) strength is found in compact frame but the overall hardness of the Talons is only on the level of soft iron, or perhaps Brass, yes this is harder than most of nature, but Earthran kiwis are.
what do you think of their strength? up/down?

Beak:
While it can be used to deflect a weapon it is generally not used in combat, after all it is his nose.
Probably harder than his talons, about bronze
think of it as a quarterstaff attached to your face, it can stop a blade but heck it will hurt, it's hardly a shield

Armour:
Feathers
Regenerate… 1 week to fully replace with these natural characteristics
Leather amour equivalence (tougher than most animal skin when alive)

Spells:
Earth
Technique:
Silas must place his beak in the ground to cast many of these spells, so that he improves his ‘connectivity’ with the earth itself. This means he is stationary and unable to attack with his natural weapons when casting…

Stone Skin (defence Core)
makes feathers and skin beneath take 1/2 damage compared to normal to slashing and pierce attacks and 3/4 (1/4 absorbed) against spells other than water (ice excluded it’s solid and hence ‘earthen’)… duration 1 hour. This spell doesn't require to be 'earthed'

Earth of the deep:
These abilities require Silas to connect himself.

Stoning to the death (offence)
Causes fist sized portions of rock to pummel the opponent.
Highly effective against an unarmoured opponent, and can break bones with correct hits.

Earth wave (other)
sends a pulse of motion rippling through the ground, can cause opponents to lose their footing and thus leave them unprepared for oncoming attacks

(boulder cannon goes into storage)

Lightning
His deep past with lightning is well documented, and no specific technique is common, however they often 'present' and are aimed by his 2 feet or beak (remember kiwi wings are nearly non existent.)

Telementry (core skill)
Silas can use his powers to toy with nerve impulses of the subject at hand, insufficient to cause harm, however he can create or mute sounds a subject he is watching should be able to hear.
This ability gives Silas the ability to 'speak' and was learned a very long time ago.
There is no way to 'listen in' without exceptional lightning knowledge which can detect the modulation of the magical signal.

Electro-shield (defence)
provides protection against attacks, does damage to nearby creatures (<1m) when struck by the scattering of earthing sparks, has a moderate chance (atm thinking 25%) to deflect magical attacks, and resist magical fires and the like. Deflects ninja stars and other flat spinning objects from their intended course by induced electrical repulsion. This spell can be cast on others. This is the anti predator spell he casts when he goes to sleep (you bite an electric fence sometime), and casts second if he thinks there is trouble.

Static charging (core)
Causes objects to gain a static charge (attractive), and attracted to the area with the opposite charge… can be used to: slow opponents, cause running opponents to trip (stick a foot to the ground ) {10 kilos/use}, stick a person to a wall/the ceiling {weight/use} (important note, it takes significant amounts more energy to make it LIFT with this than to stick.), stick other objects to the ceiling/wall/floor weight, metals and those in plate armour cause half effectiveness {double weight/use}. {150 kilos per day}
Electro-levitation (core)
Causes objects to gain a static charge (repulsive), which allows Silas to pick objects up, but does not allow him to wield them, but uses induced static electricity to levitate objects <10 kilos into the air… half effectiveness in metallic objects.

Lightening blade is moved to storage.
(Pulse in storage)
(Combined spells in storage)

History:
2 months work, and now finalised.

Born in times unremembered, to parents long forgotten, the age of Silas is unknown by any of the greater races, it is believed Silas knows of a few events from when he was young that might be able to place what century he was born in, but persistent questioning from various druids of the past has yielded nothing.

Silas has a memory incomparable among all known races (even – or so it is said – among the mighty dragons), and is believed to have origins in a civilisation unknown to others, as he seems to pre-date the elvish war of the tap, yet no known human settlements occurred in that era. Silas speaks of magical relics such as disks that ‘fly’ over water that are unheard of in any history recorded, but it is commonly agreed that if Silas was alive during the war he was not one of the Forgotten Ones or their minions, nor that he at that stage sided with the elves.

Believed to have been one of the most prominent Biological and lightning mages of his era, he pioneered a treatment to defeat time itself, originally developing the treatment to save his dying familiar from a horrible disease. Having managed (barely) to replicate the effects of the treatment on him, with poisons considered lethal and working with toxins at levels believed to be deadly Silas overcame nature’s greatest destroyer, freeing himself from the effects of time through means misunderstood by even his own compatriots of the age.

When word spread of Silas’s method, many prominent figures such as kings decided that they themselves should live forever, unburdened by age, however Silas was reluctant to attempt the procedure on any others, suspecting the process would be far too dangerous, even when he had successfully achieved it upon himself. Silas’s attempts to protect others yielded the wrong kind of attention, and a certain nobleman managed to blackmail Silas into manhandling the procedure for his own benefit, and hardly kept it quiet after he forced Silas’s agreement, attracting the attention of many.
Unfortunately for Silas his own concerns regarding the dangers of the process proved well founded, the nobleman dying upon his table after only 3 days of the treatment. The nobleman being an important figure in the town, and the curious parties now fairly sure the idea was a method to kill with freedom, Silas was forced to leave his home, with the law hot on his heels even if the individuals who enacted it disagreed with the motives behind the order for his capture.

Silas successfully escaped his home nation and spent the following years exploring the world and learning of the various plants that live within it, his already prestigious knowledge of Biological magic’s growing gradually, and nothing of great importance changed within the next few hundred years or so, of course thanks to Silas’s helpful spirit lead to word spreading of a great healer with treatments for most of the afflictions of the day, and holy men, kings and the like started sending messages to him requesting his assistance, for unlike others, he had a reputation for saving all of his patients, although he humbly admitted before treating anyone that all of his patients would survive, but he hoped to save more than would be saved without help.

Silas eventually tired of this interest in his affairs and moved on, travelling over the seas by magical means to explore various lands and learn more of the world, Silas added to his knowledge even more, even learning of medicinal herbs in lands where the various races had not yet discovered or visited, before moving on to visit yet more of the world.

When Silas finally settled down with his familiar again it was inside the borders of a land of the elves, who due to their longer life spans grew to like him significantly more than some of the other races he had encountered, and doing his good work learned of the various treatments and aids available to him for the elves, their needs being different from the humans with whom he had been born among and treated over the centuries, the Elves even gave him a elvish name but he has never spoken it in knowledgeable memory, perhaps because the name is still remembered among elves and he does not wish to be associated with it, or perhaps it is because of the damage history wrought not long after.

Silas moved on before war broke out, and was unaffected by it, instead returning to wandering the land exploring among cities long forgotten paths now vanished and through kingdoms now remembered only by the stones in their ruins. Some of the stories told by Silas suggest it was during this time he befriended several dwarven kingdoms resulting in his allowance to explore underground, learning of the nature of those plants beneath the earth, living in the eternal darkness of the underground, or the twilight created by other species there, while there it is suggested that he had discovered one of the most potent cures in dwarven knowledge (name secret from other races) used (diluted) as an ‘first treatment’ for most infections and afflictions, before switching to other drugs in the event it doesn’t make a noticeable difference.

While underground, most likely in the lands of Haidia according to the description in those records made from the last time he told the story, Silas came upon a dwarven town under attack by demonic forces, and Silas outraged by the nature of the creatures’ attack and subsequent pillaging, flew into a rage, striking down all of the demons leaving the villagers unharmed, before continuing on to obliterate all demons he came across, in turn attracting those characters of strength and honour (evidence suggests these are forgotten dwarven heroes whose history was lost with the later invasion) before eventually locating the commander of this (according to most scholars) early strike and destroying him causing all the remainders of the force to flee.

Following this vicious destruction Silas felt significantly effected by the senseless killing, choosing to isolate himself until he fell back into natures rhythms, spending the next few centuries in unrecognisable locations based on those tales he speaks of from these times, suggesting the places are again forgotten to the world, or that he was in places that have changed considerably since he was there last. An example of an unrecognised description is that of the plants with leaves like blankets that capture living creatures in the forest and hold them till they die. Silas left the tunnels citing that underground there was always a feeling of being ‘trapped’ and having little choice on what he could do.

Following returning to the surface Silas is said to have visited and made contact to many other races, including the Fae, dragons as well as just about every species upon the surface, Silas knows of the vampires and their habits but is adamant he never ‘assisted’ the race which he claims are a race that simply feeds off the lives of others, never creating, simply replicating. This is in turn disputed by those few vampires who have heard of this, but this has never put off Silas, who states ‘you can wrap a shit in gold, and it will be valuable, but it still is a shit’

Silas settled again in a realm, which nationality and race is debated, various races claiming ownership, and every scholar has their own pick, but it is generally agreed it wasn’t the dwarves for it wasn’t underground, nor the Fae, who Silas had chosen for a spell (following an argument, duration said to be ~500 years) to avoid. It was then that a small demon with a weak power who had stalked him for this entire time, before finding Silas vulnerable.

Silas had discovered a method to allow him to ‘split’ from himself and possess his familiar, and had done so, leaving his body in apparent sleep but without the defences of his own powerful mind. The demon took up this chance, his only power being that of being able to dominate the minds of others, taking control of Silas’s body and his latent power and using it to attack and destroy all he could. Silas only realised something had happened once he had returned home, and he immediately set out to recover his body, although initially Silas didn’t understand what had happened.

Details regarding what followed are sketchier than even the rest of Silas’s past, Silas doesn’t like talking of what happened, and the devastation caused by the demon controlling one of the most powerful bodies in the world left no survivors to create histories, but it is clear that even when Silas had found and destroyed the demon, Silas’s body had been corrupted, and it’s mind in shambles leaving himself with no choice but do kill ‘himself’, which he only managed to do following adapting to sharing and controlling his present body with his familiar.

Silas states that the location of this final battle is still scarred to the current day, however no suitable locations are known of, but given Silas’s accurate depiction of the locations of lost civilisations that he encountered and similar aspects, there is no doubt that he is most likely correct, and tucked away in an unknown valley far from current civilisation there is a place where the ground is charred white, and lightning bolts of coloured glass that zigzag the surface of the ground are punctuated by large pillars of rock and boulders that were launched at great speed, the ground uninhabitable by any living thing bar a single plant 3 inches high that sits near the centre with a pretty purple bloom that appears on a single day each year.

Silas has lost his skill with manipulating living things now, but hasn’t lost his skills in herbology, although his discovering new species of plant is somewhat hampered by the lack of hands, so he hasn’t created any new potions recently. The time passed since he destroyed his body has been sufficient that Silas and his familiars mind have ‘melded’ and become one and the same, his skill with telepathy has been ‘altered’ meaning he trips the hairs within the ears of those around him to replicate sounds and noise, but his abilities are hardly limited to this.

With centuries of lack of practice like most people have years of life, Silas has forgotten much of his terrific power, although the power does remain ‘on tap’ and with some practice can be recovered, which given the power of the enemies of Athenas, may just tip the balance in their favour, if he recovers the skill in time.

Silas had most recently called the jungles of Luthmor home, known to but a few fae who he encountered when out foraging for worms and beetles but has no important part participated or made it clear who/what he is to them, instead enjoying his solitude, however with the change of balance of the last few years Silas has noted the ‘change in the air’ and feels darkness is starting to penetrate even into this land of life, and has set out in order to work out what’s going on, and hopefully – without fighting – prevent more corruption and chaos, however given the residents of this worlds violent tendencies, it seems that discussion with a being ‘aeons’ old would even be unable to prevent the upcoming outbreak, and that in fact, Silas is going to have to fight once again and bring destruction of many to prevent the corruption of all.

Fun character.

A few things to keep in mind: we tend to base relative material strength on our current assortment of metals available in the bazaar. You will have to choose an equivilent for your character's claws (steel is default, for anything stronger you might have to tone back your character's other abilities).

You can start out with three abilities (earth, lightning or combined) which are relative to your character's level. You are allowed to use vague words like "average" or "massive" to describe their strengths, but the moderators will judge you accordingly in threads (i.e. if they are used unfairly, you may lose points). Usually adding limitations, equivilent to a static shock for electric or a 2.0 rumble for earth work better on profiles.

We aim for balance to begin with on Althanas. Once you have picked your claw's material equivilent, your abilities and modified your history (if you plan to do that), post again and we can go from there.

Welcome to Althanas!

unfortunately the nature of Silas's character (no hands and such) means some spells are essential to his usefulness in noncombat, such as his so far unmentioned 'electro-telepathy' where he either triggers electrical impulses in the persons brain, or trips the nerves in the persons ears so they can hear him.

This i suppose is a relic of the deep past from him, yet i'd consider it a 'high level' spell thats essential to his abilty to survive. as for my insistance on keeping his sheild and stoneskin spells, as a small bird creature he isn't very robust to start with and needs these spells in order to improve his hardiness.

A quiet character is one thing, a silent one because moderators muted him is another.

I would respectully request if he could take spells as though he is a higher level for this reason, along with allowing him to afterwards to remain useful in combat, just because i have a wide range of abilities does not mean I won't use them respectfully.

If I DO get authourisation to not remove too much, I will simply maintain my spell numbers untill the eventual point where I am authorised to take more. effectively holding him at his starting level untill i am advised that he has now reached his 'new level' of power.

Ultimately i rather want to keep his abities alive, it's just how effectively I use them, and the exact scale of the ability that determines the overall power of a character.

Generalised comments suggesting improvements on Silas's character would be appretiated.
Spelling is being sacrificed for detail and timelyness for the moment, final review will be spellchecked in full. (i love wordpad over microsoft word which is too fussy for me to just throw ideas in.)

Age: unknown over 2,000 years
Apparant age: Adult

Other:
Intelligence: assuming most humans, elves and such are normal… HIGH
Clothing: wears a satchel to carry things

Weapons:
Talons:
Powerful claws, capable of breaking a man’s femur with ease, tipped with sharp claws, a pair of lethal weapons that can destroy armour, they cannot parry blows however… as they’re not armoured.

Beak:
While it can be used to deflect a weapon it is generally not used in combat, after all it is his nose.

Armour:
Feathers
Regenerate… 1 week to fully replace…
provide level 7 protection from slashing and piercing attacks…
provide level 8 protection from magic attacks
90 HP absorption.

Spells
Earth
Technique:
Silas must place his beak in the ground to cast many of these spells, so that he improves his ‘connectivity’ with the earth itself. This means he is stationary and unable to attack with his natural weapons when casting…

Stone Skin
makes feathers and skin beneath take 1/2 damage compared to normal to slashing and pierce attacks and 3/4 (1/4 absorbed) against spells other than water (ice excluded it’s solid and hence ‘earthen’)… duration 1 hour. 30 HP

Earth of the deep

Stoning to the death
Causes fist sized portions of rock to pummel the opponent…
Highly effective against an unarmoured opponent, can break bones, and as the name suggests kill, given enough time…

Boulder Cannon
Using geological forces small boulders (up to 20) are propelled out of the ground from nearby (100m, fire area of 20m, each shot is aimed on firing) towards opponent, takes several posts to produce the holes they are fired from, they are noisy, but highly effective (terror weapon… quite inaccurate and is avoidable). (20 shots per day… exhausts Silas)

Earth wave
sends a pulse of motion rippling through the ground, can cause opponents to lose their footing and thus leave them unprepared for oncoming attacks

Lightning/Electrical
Thanks to his mastery of this element, he has no need to use any particular technique with these spells, these represent a small collection:

Electro-shield
provides protection against attacks, does damage to nearby creatures (<1m) when struck, absorbs ½ damage from all spells, and deflects ninja stars and other flat spinning objects by induced electrical repulsion. This can be cast on others in rapid succession.

Lightning blade
cast onto any weapon, lightning will ‘flow’ through the object, causing damage on contact (not necessary to ‘cut’ just touch), can enchant the weapons of others, and his powerful claws.

Electrical pulse
Triggers a ‘pulse’ of electricity that passes through the air in a semicircular fashion, all those not covered with a form of magical barrier will find themselves electrocuted in a most interesting manner.

Static charging
Causes objects to gain a static charge (attractive), and attracted to the area with the opposite charge… can be used to: slow opponents, cause running opponents to trip (stick a foot to the ground ) {10 kilos/use}, stick a person to a wall/the ceiling {weight/use}, stick other objects to the ceiling/wall/floor weight, metals and those in plate armour cause half effectiveness {double weight/use}. {150 kilos per day}

Electro-levitation
Causes objects to gain a static charge (repulsive), which allows Silas to pick objects up, but does not allow him to wield them, but uses induced static electricity to levitate objects <10 kilos into the air… half effectiveness in metallic objects.

Combined spells

Electrical Stoning
Large number of small stones propelled out of ground with immense force and speed, each stone has a charge of lightening within… causing multidirectional damage, hence cannot be blocked…

Shock Lance…
Fires a powerful rock lance (full of metallic veins) charged with lightning from beneath the ground, strikes opponent with sharp end… and electrocutes them. (Slow moving enough to be dodged most of the time…)

Sword of the Stone
Used if an ally is found unarmed, and a relic of past battles Silas will provide them with a sword of stone, that will cause massive electrical damage when it hits, is a rather heavy sword however, and will reduce swinging speed.

Shock wave
A combination of waves, first an electrical pulse hits you from the air and then you lose your footing as the ground moves beneath your feet… Excellent for disrupting ambushes as all members surrounding Silas, except those who were protected from the above ground electrical attack, will fall to the ground, making them easy prey for Silas’s talons.

History:

the true age of Silas is lost, along with his original last name...
Silas was once one of the most prominent Bio/lightning wizards of his age. He even managed to once bring his near dead familiar back to life using his astounding Bio knowledge… his familiar began to feed on Bio magic’s and use them to maintain it’s life, it was believed that he had found a way to achieve near immortality and he used it upon himself, going through terrible pain while subjecting himself to poisons that would kill in the tiniest concentrations greater than that he was giving himself. Finally after a month of incredible pain and healing, he had completed the task.
When word got out he had found a way to live forever, free of the aging process, other prominent figures stood up demanding that he give it also to them… his next patient died. People were no longer interested in his discovery, and he found himself running from the law…
He left civilisation and build a new life for himself on a mountainside. He lived in a log cabin on that mountainside for the next 400 years discovering new herbs and potions, his knowledge continued to grow, he became well known once again for medicines, which he began to make a life on, and on occasion being summoned to royal courts to heal kings as his patients were well known for surviving.
It was during this period that he saw new kingdoms born, old ones fall, and far too much warfare for the kind old man to see without feeling sadness for the fallen.

Then came the time of darkness…
The times of darkness were an all out assault on the local kingdoms by demons, who were summoned by a dark sorcerer who wanted to control all of the lands between the mountains and the sea.
Silas had left his cottage for a month long trip, off to discover new herbs, and gathering more of the valuable ingredients for his potions. He came upon a village under attack, he lost his temper… there were demons everywhere killing the villagers, whether they tried to fight, run or surrender. Silas was outraged. ‘How dare you destroy a peaceful village that did nothing to offend you other than exist, you creatures shall be sent to the underworld from whence you came!” at that he created a massive lightning bolt that arced from demon to demon killing all it struck, turning their bodies to ashes, while not touching any villagers.
’Leave! Find a castle and remain there, there is no reason to stay here unless you wish to be attacked again, pack your heirlooms, gold and clothes and find protection.”

As he progressed on his way, the evidence of the destruction caused by the armies of darkness was apparent, trees and plants were killed… “We must find the cause of this mess before we shall return to our home” he said to his familiar “otherwise this careless destruction shall continue until it consumes us too…”

the next 3 years were consumed by his fighting the forces, destroying all he met, finding the need to acquire more offensive lightning spells and proceeding to meet that need. His name and words of his deeds spread, and bands of heroes joined his cause, forming an elite force than no demon force could face. Working their way through the pillaged landscape, eventually they found the sorcerers castle and assaulted it, killing the sorcerer in an overcharged final battle, many of the heroes falling while attempting to defend Silas from the demonic forces trying to get into the room where the two magicians fought.

Having succeeded Silas’s name ascended to legend, and yet he was still alive.
Kings sought his council and villagers his healing. Assorted heroes sought him out to best him in battle, thinking that this would raise their status to match his… but none ever won thanks to his mastery of bio herbs, he would put them to sleep before they hurt themselves. Another century past and yet still he lived… seeming no more than a year older than when he had cast the spell of longevity. He became bored with all the attention, he had no time to go travelling to look for new herbs thanks to kings messengers bringing him summons.

He moved again, now deep in a series of valley’s far in the mountains, after building his own residence, he went out and found yet more plants, and found that elves lived in these valleys, again, he was polite and ended up befriending the elves. Their longer lives meant he grew far closer to them, and helped them with healing potions, and recipes for them, and they in turn helped him.

Here he spent countless decades finding out so many new forms of potion, and spells for his lightning.
One of his potions allowed him to share his familiar’s body… and one day he and his familiar had gone for an exploration… only to find his body missing on return.

A demonic spirit had followed him since the fall of the sorcerer, and had been looking for a weakness to show itself, as patient as the earth itself, it was surprised by the longevity of this man and his familiar, no man had ever lived for 3 centuries before, and yet it continued to wait.
Alas it had found his body, and began to use it for vengeance for those who had destroyed his brethrens hopes of taking control of this world, using it to destroy the creatures that Silas had spent so long trying to save.

There was not much Silas could do as he watched the demon use his own body to destroy the elves he had befriended, other than warn some of their number to flee their towns with his telepathy (a skill he had mastered centuries ago). Now determined to stop this creature using his form for pain and poison, he learnt to use new spells from within his familiars form… spending so long together resulting in their minds ‘melding’ and becoming ‘unified’ Silas became one with his familiar, now they are like the 2 sides of a coin. Where the coin is the familiar’s body… eventually, after 50 years of bloody terror, Silas confronted his demon, and defeated his form in combat. Largely thanks to learning his familiar’s element and its associated spells.

Since then over the passing decades he has lost all of his Bio spells, because of his loss of memory through lack of use, and large portions of his vast power in lightning has been mostly forgotten. His abilities are limited, but he remains a fast learner and is probably the most knowledgeable potion master in the world, knowing more plant species than perhaps the god’s themselves, or so it is said. His only inability is in being able to make them himself with his limited body.

He is a lone traveller, fending off wolves with ease, and seeking ever further knowledge in the realms of plants, so that he may find a potion that can reverse his longevity potions effects, being sick of watching so many friends die, of age, war, and even by his own hands… he wants to die, and of age, the one thing he has not yet achieved.

Much more could be added to this history about the battles he fought and such; however he has lived longer than many angels from heaven, and demons in hell. He has loved so long that he has forgotten his age… it is estimated by some as 2-4,000 years, far too long by anyone’s standards; as a result this is his shortened history to date, including most of his important events and occasions on which he acquired his present abilities and his form.

At Althanas, we recognize that there is a difference between race based attributes and character abilities. For example, a vampire might be afforded greater starting agility than a human and an elf might have greater intelligence than a dwarf. Under that logic, your race based attributes (feather armor and telementry) are perfectly acceptable. As far as I'm concerned static charging and electro-levitation are the same ability (as you point out, it's hard to have one without the other), so they can be combined as well.

However, in all fairness, you have two abilities that can be "stacked" onto one another to make your character too powerful for level 0. That is stone skin with electro-shield. Please choose one or the other. Also, lightning blade in any form is too strong for a level 0 character considering your character's other abilities. Please remove it. You can, however, purchase both temporary and permanent lightning enchantments from the bazaar which would not necessarily require a level up.

Finally, avoid offering numerical (D&D) power listings. They are unnecessary as your added descriptions offer a good look at each weapon, armor, or ability's comparative strength.

Once you've edited the changes, we can go from there. If you'd like to keep certain abilities, we can likely make some arrangements to keep your character balanced but offer him the flexibility you desire.

The idea of the 'lightning blade' is not that it cuts, but rather that it makes any weapon or object (preferably small) with an electrical charge that will electrocute, it holds it's name from AGES ago, otherwise it would be electrical touch i suppose...
Electrocution only requires you touch.
I'd love to keep his only offensive electrical spell around but i have to bend to suit your needs.

The numbers were guidelines but i'll go through and remove them

Finally, Stone skin makes his feathers as hard as iron armour, but requires to be cast.

Silas's duribilty is low, characterised by his small size, he does benefit in agility being a small character but some people will insist on wanting to strike him, and the combined use of these 2 spells will allow him to take a few hits.

Otherwise he's a glass cannon.
Powerful but hit him and he's broken.

If given this information you still recommend the removal of the electrical shield spell initially (to be replaced at level 1 or 2 or something), or perhaps make it a non combat spell that can be put back in (again it is how he sleeps safely when in predated areas, if you go to attack something and get hurt moving to bite it you tend to go away), i suppose it will be a loss i can adapt and adjust around..

Stone skin isn't an optional extra in my eyes for combat.

You can keep both the stone skin and the electro-shield if you lose one of your character's offensive earth spells (stoning or earth wave). Lightning blade is still unacceptable based on your character's other skills, especially considering the ability can be gained through other means (i.e. enchantments). Don't forget, you have 500 GP to spend in the bazaar immediately after registration. There are also other ways to make quick money. If you pay close attention to the profile, your character only has the ability to build a static charge, not to pour lightning from its beak.

When you're ready please edit your abilities into your FIRST post, complete your profile and I'll be happy to approve you.

can you enchant a living peice of flesh?

Besides by making the spell a spell it can 'grow' or develop over time, and have it's effect 'vary' according to the time available to cast it.

Anyway, i've made some alterations, the history should be sorted this weekend, I'm desperately trying to gauge the history of the world to determine Silas's age, but it looks like he's on the young side to encounter certain wars that he needs to 'fit'

Plus some alterations to the history itself to match up with occurrences.

Please note I've swapped the contents of my first and second post in this thread to allow us to work on the 'current working' version at the top and the primary source of data in the second.

Finally silas is currently what I consider a glass cannon, although i won't make it official in the post on the basis that I won't have it exploited.
Silases first or second adventure will be to gain the protection of some folk so if he gets hurt in a way he can't help himself he can get someone else to.

You can buy an enchantment that effects a maximum area, or I guess your character could eat it then it would come from his beak. I'll let you keep electroshield ONLY if you use it when your character is sleeping, in non-combat situations.

Make the edits, let me know when you're finished and I'll approve you.

Good news & bad news

Good news: i have the history alterations needed to fit into your world perfectly coming together nicely

Bad news: next 2 weeks i have to study for my exams

Good news: after the exams in 2 weeks i have a ton of free time and hope to get this finished

So please bare with me, i'm going to get there.

Oh yeah and i have an idea for a new character that won't even (hopefully) need altering.

How about a character that can kill himself to travel around the world :p
*allows the idea of a lich to go 2 steps too far*
I'll finish this one first and practice using him before i try to run around with 2.

Silas, I was just checking up on you to make sure finals are going well.

Post here when you're back so we can continue.

Also, the other character sounds fun too!

'screen, mind
both are blank'

I think i'll throw up some basics in one of the open channels and get others input regarding the Lich with the living body...

anyway the quote from the top is half the problem... betwen computers breaking and lack of inspiration I've struggled to get this history rolling...

now time has returned and i'm thinking a little more clearly, i'll put a few hours in today and see where we get :)

Your history is amazing. It was a fun story and connected your character's canon with Althanas' perfectly.

Approved!
