View Full Version : King of the Once Great Empire of the White Wing

Lord Azaado
11-04-08, 06:35 AM
Name: Lord Azaado
Age: 17
Race: Shiroi-Kaze
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5”10
Weight: 10 stone

Personality: Selfish and cold hearted, Azaado cares for no one but himself and his faithful companion Beru. Although he is royalty and king of a fallen empire, he does not look down his nose at people like many other royalty do. He will fight to protect other people if it benefits him or if he has to get involved.

Appearance: Although he is a king, he wears no crown. His only symbol of royalty is the sword he carries. On the hilt of the sword is the crest of his family’s empire that depicts two snake-like dragons spiraling up towards a white, unknown, gem. He wears only a single piece of armor, an steel shoulder plate on his right shoulder. This is layered; the top layer curves upwards into a point, then below that are 3 more layers that allow movement of the shoulder and still offers many protection. The rest of his clothing consists of a dull white vest and a dark grey pair of jeans. He has a loose, dark blue, strap around his waist, this attaches to the sheath for his sword. He has short brown hair that covers his ears.

History: Born into the Kranelle family line, he was raised as royalty and was born with the Shiroi-Kaze’s (translated as White Wind) ability of Aerokinesis. For a long time, he was arrogant and snotty, he would look down on everyone and would treat his fathers servants like garbage. He only cared for himself and was uninterested in ruling Shirazada and its empire, only a small portion were Shiroi-Kaze, the rest were ordinary humans.

All of this soon changed when a young cat-like girl appeared in Shiraz. She had purple coloured fur with black lines running across her arms, back and legs. Her eyes were a pale red, not quite pink but close to it. She only wore black shorts and a small fleece. She wondered the city for many days, Azaado would often walk past her on his strolls through the city. He noticed her each time, she would stand still and stare at him as he walked past, stopping anything that she was doing. One day, he was on his usual stroll through the city’s market, observing the citizens. He heard shouting coming from a distance, suddenly he saw the girl running towards him, weaving in and out between the crowd. She dived and hid behind him, grasping his vest and cowering. He looked at her, and then into the crowds. A stall keeper emerged and searched around for her, in a rage he did not notice the prince that she was hiding behind and charged towards her. Azaado moved her behind him fully and held his arms out. Within an instant the stall keeper saw Azaado, trying to stop himself he fell over his own feet and came crashing down at his feet. Azaado asked him what the meaning of this was, the store clerk explained that the girl had stolen from his stall. The prince simply dismissed him and took the girl back to the palace. He took her to his room and fed her, she obviously hadn’t eaten in a while. Azaado cared for the cat girl, now named Beru, it was the first person he had ever cared for apart from himself. She lived with him from then on, under his care and protection.

At the age of 14, his father passed away, Leaving Azaado to take the throne. Still uninterested, he left Shiraz with no king for two years. The empire began to crumble, opposing factions began to make their move on Shirazian territory. Seeing his fathers empire crumble, and knowing of the advancing enemy, Azaado turned to his fathers friend, he trained with him for a year, learning how to fight with swords and become a good leader. He returned to Shiraz to take the throne. However, two weeks after the crowning ceremony, Shiraz was attacked and burned to the ground. Only Azaado and Beru escaped, they now wonder the world of Althanas, searching for any of the survivors of the other city’s in the former empire. Hoping that some of his race survived, Azaado searches for them so that he may train his powers further… and rebuild the once great empire of the white wind.

Skills:

Swordplay: After training with his fathers friend for 1 year, Azaado has an average skill in fighting with his sword.

Aerokinesis: A racial skill. Azaado was never trained much by his father or mother, due to this there are several limitations on his power. He can only create small bursts of wind and must have one hand free to point in the direction he wants the wind to travel in.

Equipment:
Steel Shoulder Plates: The only piece of armor he wears. Worn on the right hand side, it is weighted to give his swings with his sword more power.

The Kranelle Blade: The blade of his family. This is the only sign of his nobility. It a steel longsword, the blade is double-edged. The hilt of the sword has the crest of his family’s empire that depicts two snake-like dragons spiraling up towards a white, unknown, gem.

Familiars: Beru, the cat girl that he cared for. After living with him for several years and escaping the destruction of Shiraz with him, Beru has become attached to Azaado and will make sure that she never leaves his side. Beru will not let any girl come close to him as she wants to be the only one close to him. Because of her feelings towards him and the fact that she knows he is royaty, Beru will often refer to Azaado as master rather than Lord Azaado or just Azaado.

Hey there, and welcome to Althanas. I'll be taking care of this for you.

First I'd like to see some form of gust strength and range for the Aerokenisis. Say 20-30 lbs of force, and diminishing past 5-10 yards. Secondly, the obsidian shoulder plates need to be either iron or steel instead of obsidian... or equal tier to them. And last, you need to make the sword steel or iron as well.

Also, just as a side note, you can add a little more to the appearance section regarding how your character looks (i.e. face, body, way you walk, ect...). Thanks for your compliance.

Damm... you beat witchblade to it :P

few things tho:
the sword already is steel,
i thought i would be able to get away with the obsidian as its the only piece of armour he wears and its in a non-vital area... i have changed it anyway,
finaly, the Aerokinesis ability shouldnt need restraints on it... i left it as an open ability and stated that he has a below average skill in using it

Rules are rules, sorry mate. I must have looked over the steel part, obsidian is something that (in all reality) will break and splinter with a single hit to the armor. If you want to keep them, go for it, but if you've ever seen a person work on Obsidian you would understand that the lava created rock is brittle. A rock striking it would shatter your shoulder plates. If you would like to keep them they are relative strength to true obsidian, and their use as armor is next to nill.

And you saying something shouldn't need restraints doesn't mean they don't. As the RoG mod handling this I request that you put restraints on the Aerokenisis. Due to the fact that 'below average' does not work (in my mind) for spell like abilities.

Ok, i see where your comming from with the obsidian.. ill keep it steel.

As for the Aerokinesis, i have placed restraints on it but i am not limiting it to specific measurements, i would like to keep this an open skill. I have removed the combat useage that suggests he can use it to harm his foes. I hope this is enough as i realy dont want to limit this skill, if it has too specific limitations then it will remove the openness of the skill and he would only be able to use it for set tasks.

The change is acceptable. Though in the future, the openness is going to make it more and more difficult to manage for the RoG staff. As such, I'm warning you ahead of time that open ended, non-specific magic is going to be very hard to level.

Approved.
