Name: Brom (Bra-AHM)
Age: 32
Race: Human
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Height: 6'4''
Weight: 250 lbs.
Occupation: Warrior

Appearance: Wild, icy green eyes are the first thing that catches a man's sight from the face hidden in a mane of hair that is as black as night. His expression always seemed to range from stern to deadpan, as if the warrior's face is nothing more than a mask. The barbarian is a man that stands tall and has a presence that could very well dwarf a giant. A mountain of muscle, Brom's very appearance exudes the strength and determination he has become legendary for. With flesh that has been turned a soft gray akin to ash from being exposed to the harsh, savage conditions of Salvar and tarnished with countless scars he earned in battle, Brom has begun to look more and more like a man who is slowly losing his humanity.

Dressed in the furs and skins of his kills, Brom dresses himself not in the armor he hopes to lead him to victory but of ornaments and pieces of armor he has taken from the corpses of his victims. A hodgepodge of defenses drape his body, coming from countless cultures that all seem to leave their mark on him. A raider. A warrior. A soldier. Life may continue to leave its scars and marks upon him, but Brom has taken a lifetime to master the craft that will return the favor.

Personality: With his mind honed to a razor's edge and his body carved by rage and war, it isn't surprising that Brom has almost become the living embodiment of the very monster he unleashes upon his foes. In his mind, he believes anything is possible. The thirst for power and his very survival depends on it. Never mind his incredible strength or his familiarity with the art of death, it is by sheer force of will and Brom's steeled determination that can make moving mountains possible. Outside of that, Brom is always at the ready. Selfish, defiant, and quick to anger, he is a lone wolf who will always get what he wants, and anybody who stands in the barbarian's way is nothing more than a mere obstacle.

Skills:

-Traits-

Weathered: Having to endure such harsh conditions for much of his life, Brom has developed a knack for outlasting the wrath of nature. After all, survival in the savage wastes of Salvar becomes second nature to all those who dwell within it's icy heart. Because of this, Brom can survive extreme temperatures ranging from forty below to scorching temperatures and still be in fighting condition. Brom has also developed a higher threshold for pain, his flesh becoming as tough as leather and as hard as rock, giving him the ability to survive grevious or sometimes even wounds that most other men would consider fatal.

Art of War: Brom has become well versed in the tactics and business of war. Battles, skirmishes, campaigns--this warrior has seen and done it all. Because of his time served as both a soldier and a mercenary, he has faced all the traumatic experiences that the battlefield could offer, making him both callous to bloodshed and a force to be reckoned with while in the fray. The skills provided to him through surviving such awful and brutal feats have made him both a better warrior and a more efficient killer. There are few things Brom cannot counter or deflect from the enemy, but the most important lesson the barbarian has learned is that now when an enemy searches his form for any sort of weakness they'll come to the same conclusion he does; There isn't any.
Note: To sum it up, Brom is a trained soldier and no stranger to violence. He knows that the only real mistake he can make on the battlefield is by showing weakness. Therefore, Brom has developed the ability to make himself hard to predict and has mastered the art of covering up his weaknesses and instilling terror in the enemy.

Thunderstruck: After countless years of fighting, Brom has learned one important thing--he has a hard head. Because of this, the warrior is incredibly hard to be stunned or dazed, and it is an even harder chore to knock him out. However, because of all the concussions he has suffered over the years, Brom can be easily confused or even hypnotized.

One with The Mountain: Brom is 4.0x stronger than a normal man, is able to lift almost 1,500 pounds, and can run 2.0x faster than a normal man making him almost a force of nature. Because of his strength and his size, the warrior can achieve extraordinary feats that seem almost impossible to a normal man. He can break through walls, floors, splinter bones, and even shatter skulls with nothing more than his hands or feet and his giant strength.

Do or Die: Don't mistake Brom's size and bulk for making him slow or sluggish--he's faster than he looks. Knowing that you're either quick or you're dead is a hard ability to master, but Brom has managed to get a handle on it. With honed reflexes and a mountain of muscle to serve as his body, Brom has twice the reaction time of a normal man and has mastered the art of dodging.

Unbreakable: Through the scars, wounds, and blood he has shed over the years, Brom has become both tougher and stronger over the years. Most wounds that would have normally hindered or even killed him now cannot. Brom can now only die from massive blood loss, beheading, or being ran through the heart. Because of his remarkable abilities to endure such harsh punishment, there are rumors of him being almost indestructible.
Note: Definitions of 'massive blood loss', 'beheading' and 'ran through the heart' aren't always literal. If somebody blows Brom's head off with a shotgun, he will die. If he is shot through the heart with an arrow or a bullet, he will die. If he loses a limb or suffers a very deep wound, he can die. The entire point of this is to make Brom harder to kill and seem indestructible to his foes, not actually make him immortal.

-Abilities-

Bash: Whether with his head, his arms, or his legs Brom knows how to deliver a crushing blow. After years of practice, he has managed to perfect the art of bashing. When hitting somebody with a part of his body, the warrior is now twice as more likely to stun an enemy and the blow will feel almost as if the person were being hit with a truck. This ability meshes with Brawler.

Smash: Brom's blows have the strength behind them to crumple steel and break iron. He is strong enough to dent plate armor and shields, and break weapons, however the numerous scars on his hands have proven that his ability to do so is mainly through trial and error. This ability meshes with Brawler.
Note: Brom can only break weapons of iron and steel, and he can do so at a below average skill rate. But even just having the ability to do so puts him a step ahead of your average fighter.

Crush: Brom may be able to deliver the punches, but he can also kick with quite a bit of force too. When kicking or stomping on his enemy, the warrior will do 2.0x more damage than he would with his fists. This move can cause armor or shields to be dented and can even break bones. This ability may only be performed with Brom's feet.

Leap: Brom can leap up to 15 feet through air, even with all of his gear and weapons on his person.

Swimmer: Brom can swim 1.0x faster than a normal man and can hold his breath for over three minutes.

Swordsman: Although Brom can use any weapon he is given with normal efficiency, he has mastered the sword. He may be able to block and counter with any weapon he gets his hands on, but he can only parry and riposte with swords. His skill with the sword makes him both harder to hit and faster to strike blows than most of his enemies. It is rumored that once the barbarian was even able to split an arrow in two flying through the air, barreling towards the head of one of his comrades.

Brawler: When Brom swings his fist and he lands a blow, your bound to feel it. The force behind his punches are enough to break muscle, splinter bone, and cause internal bleeding if it manages to hit the right place. The trade-off with being ham-fisted is that Brom's punches are slower than his strikes with a weapon, making them easy for somebody who is nimble to dodge. This ability meshes with Bash and Smash.

First Strike: Whenever Brom lands the first blow in combat, he will do twice the damage with whatever weapon he used to land that blow for the rest of the round or until he is knocked off his feet.

Enraged: When in a state of perpetual anger, which can only be achieved if Brom is near death, he will recover a quarter of his overall health and ignore pain for the next two posts. The only exception to this rule is if an opponent can land a killing blow before Brom can achieve this state. This ability can be used only once per round.

Bloodlust: After shedding the blood of his enemy for the first time in a battle, Brom grows 1.0x faster than he would otherwise for one post. The first person he is able to draw blood from in a battle he is able to track their scent for up to 50 feet. This tracking lasts the entire round and can only be used on one opponent.

-Weaknesses-

Magic: Brom may be a killing machine, but he is still a primitive from the frigid wastelands. The unnatural and sorcery are the only real things left in this world that can strike fear in the warrior's heart. The practice of magic fills the warrior with loathing, feeling it to be nothing more than trickery and stuff meant only to be in the hands of the Gods. Brom cannot and will not use any form of magic, no matter what it is. When in the presence of such things, Brom will immediately grow nervous and hesitant, akin to what it must have been like when the first caveman discovered fire. Brom makes no allegiences with magi and his first impression will be to destroy them first and ask questions later.

Technology: Brom may be able to use weapons and armor, but such things as innovation and technology are completely alien to him. He has no deep hatred for technology like he does with magic, but he still isn't smart enough to use anything more savvy than a bow and arrow. Weapons like guns or cannons seem almost like magic to him, filling the barbarian with dread.

Stupid: Brom may be an excellent warrior and an even better survivalist, but when it comes to everything else it's almost hard to imagine how he could be so slow. He can barely count higher than ten, he is illiterate, and he knows nothing of the outside world. Though, misunderstanding Brom's ignorance of book smarts to also being gullible and uncreative could be a fatal mistake. Almost if it were by error, the barbarian is both cunning and good with picturing situations or objects he wants to build in his head, an ideal trait for an engineer or carpenter. But, an even better trait for a warrior, giving him the edge to try and figure out solutions for dynamic situations on the fly with little need to pause for thought.
Equipment:

-Armor-

Prevalida Gauntlets: Fitting over his hands and his wraps almost like a glove, they are interplated and extend to his knuckles. Strong enough to repel steel weaponry.

Arctic Leather wraps: Covers Brom's arms and legs in wraps of tough, arctic leather. Meant to protect his arms and legs from being cut. The wraps worn on the forearms are placed under single, clawed plates of steel meant to catch or block attacks with swords.

Lamellar Armor: Made of arctic leather and worn over the hauberk. It is made up of tough, lacquered leather plates that are held together by leather thongs. It is extremely tough leather, but serves mainly to protect the chest.

Dehlar Hauberk: A long shirt of mail made up of Dehlar, and it reaches down to Brom's waist. It is the heaviest part of the barbarian's armor, but serves to protect the upper body. It is extremely durable and worn under the lamellar armor.

Steel Greaves: A combination of his old knee-hide boots used in the wastes and greaves that are made of steel. Extremely durable.

Face-Mask: A helm made of a combination of dehlar and arctic leather. The prevalida covers and protects the face down to the nose and ears and is held together by leather straps. A strip of arctic leather is connected to the back of the helmet and extends to the nape of his neck.

Shield: A circular shield the size of Brom's great chest. It is made of Trakym and plated with steel. Worn over the barbarian's weaponry on his back.

-Weapons-

Broadsword: Made of Dehlar. Worn with an arctic leather sheath at the barbarian's side. It is his main weapon and is treated with utmost respect. Cleaned with oil and treated between rounds. There are symbolic runes carved into the channel of sword, but they seem nothing more than a superficial tribute to Brom's God.

Grobinald: Named after the legendary troll Brom slayed as a young man. Looks like a typical axe used to cut timber, but of unusual size. Five feet in length, the handle is made of Rywan while the axe-head is made of Dehlar. Worn on the barbarian's back.

Hatchet (2): Smaller versions of the Grobinald and made with the same material. Each are worn in slings at the back of Brom's waist. Balanced well enough to be thrown but used mainly to block attacks and close-quarters combat.

Great Bow: Made of Talymer and a bowstring of animal sinew. Although not used often, the bow has the strength to send arrows flying just over 200 hundred feet and can punch through plate armor. Worn on the barbarian's back.

War Hammer: A small, sturdy war-hammer about the size of Brom's forearm. The handle and hammer head are both made of dehlar, making it very heavy. Worn on Brom's side and the handle is wrapped in leathers engraved with runes.

Spear: Handle is made of Rywan and was specially made to be able to block and stop attacks with swords and axes and is approximately seven feet long. The spear tip is made of Dehlar and is worn in a strapped pouch that is fitted down the center of the barbarian's back.

-Equipment-

Quiver of Arrows (60): Leather pouch of arrows worn across the barbarian's back. Arrows are fletched and made of cyper and the arrowheads are made of steel.

Brom's Talisman: A religious ornament worn around Brom's neck. It is a pouch full of ash, animal bones and feathers, and a few other miscellaneous components. It is Brom's medicine for his animal spirit, a great bear, and although he fears and is repulsed by magic, the barbarian gives great reverence to his Gods and the traditions of his ancestors. Unbeknownst to him, this talisman gives Brom greater accuracy with his bow.

Hromagh's Girdle: A great leather belt that covers and protects much of Brom's abdomen. The front of it comes in two solid pieces of steel that have Hromagh's insignia painted upon it. A family relic that was taken from his clan's great halls when they were sacked, it took the barbarian over ten years to track down the group of thieves that stole it. Once being able to endow the wearer with great strength, ever since the artifact was stolen and it's resting place was sullied with blood, it has seemed to have lost it's power. For now, Brom wears it as part of his armor and a grim reminder to what misplaced trust can bring.

Clothes: Brom wears a jerkin and a pair cotton pants under all of his armor. Provides warmth.
History: For quite some time, Brom has made a living by giving the highest bidder their pound of flesh. Having lived in the uncharted wilds of Salvar for most of his life, the barbarian has slowly emerged from the fringes of society and steeped chest-deep in the errs of war. He has been a mercenary, a soldier, a raider, and huntsman--all trades that deal with his old companion, Death. Having taken his part in countless wars and battles up and down different faces of Althanas, Brom has left his mark upon the world in his own way.

With much of his past and his origins steeped in the unknown and shrouded in mystery, it was only once he traveled to Corone and befriended a man who is just as much as a stranger as the barbarian in this strange world, that Brom began to share his life's story with another soul for the first time in fifteen years. Now with the contests pitting the world's greatest against one another about to begin, Althanas will get it's first taste of the barbarian who calls himself Brom.

Equipment - you may have only one piece of armour made from Prevalida, the rest will have to be weaker. Also, you have 8 pieces of armour, please remove one.

Brom's Talisman - considering all the other boosts that Brom has in his skills and abilities, please remove the boost to speed, though you can keep the accuracy if you wish.

Bloodlust - can only last for up to 1 minute.

Thunderstruck - Just make it so it's really hard to stun or daze him, after all, if someone with Letho, Godhand or Dan's strength hit him, he'd definitely be stunned.

"Equipment - you may have only one piece of armour made from Prevalida, the rest will have to be weaker. Also, you have 8 pieces of armour, please remove one."

Fixed.

"Brom's Talisman - considering all the other boosts that Brom has in his skills and abilities, please remove the boost to speed, though you can keep the accuracy if you wish."

Sounds fair.

"Bloodlust - can only last for up to 1 minute."

I let the speed boost last for an entire post, but I wanted to be able to keep the ability of tracking an opponent the entire round. Does that sound good to you?

"Thunderstruck - Just make it so it's really hard to stun or daze him, after all, if someone with Letho, Godhand or Dan's strength hit him, he'd definitely be stunned."

I changed it, but I'm going to try my damnedest not to get sucker punched by any of these guys, even if we are all the same level in this tournament. ;)

Bloodlust - keeping the tracking is fine with me.

By the way, I think you're safe from Godhand, Dan and Letho. It doesn't look like any of them are participating.

Approverized!
