Name: Virgil Pallas Argenti V’aldobrahn
Age: 34
Race: Human
Hair color: Black
Eye color: Green
Height: 5’11
Weight: 172 lbs

Appearance:
At first look Virgil looks to be as much as a maniacal killer. He wears a full suit of samurai gusoku armor, dark with grey, blue, and tan colors, beaten through years of use. It has a very dark and menacing look, with its different shades of darkness and jagged edges, with ornamental seals on the helmet and animal horns hanging outwards. The mask is dark and chilling, with only holes for eyes and a large smile; under the shade of the helmet it looks like a deformed face until closer inspected. The several layers of always overlapping armor protruding out in all direction giving him the image of almost a hulking man, especially when in sync with the clacking of the armor as he walks.

Under the pile of armor, Virgil is just a man. He is of average height and weight, with long thick hair tied in a pony tail. His face is naturally grim, by way of his cheekbones and scars placed in a way that would give even his most sincere smiles a look of distrust. He has long bushy eyebrows and mustache with a complementary short beard, and big green eyes too. He is muscular for his size, and it’s easy to tell by the size of his arms. His normal clothing is nothing more than a silk shirt and shorts for comfort and ease of movement, and pair of thin leather shoes.

Personality:
Virgil is a quiet man. He usually keeps to himself, not talking unless talked to first, and only choosing to when he feels it is needed. His mind is always thinking, whether he is talking or eating his mind is always in unconscious thought, noticing everything and always on guard. Virgil is a warrior and always has been, fighting for him has become more than just a passion, it is a way of life. This is why he must always think, because his passion has become part of his life, now he does not just focus during a battle but at all times. This may sound as grim as he looks, but what once he befriends someone he is most loyal and always looking out for them. In fact he is a fairly nice person in most circumstances, and will always lend a helping hand to someone he feels deserves it.

Virgil life is that of uncertainty. He is never does anything that he feels is not necessary, always going by what he believes is right rather than anyone else. His life now is spent as a second in command in the Aegis brigade, only under one other by his choice. He is not usually one to join “cults” as he calls them, but these people had no more views on anything than he did, and were more than welcoming of his talents. He has found a certain refreshing feeling when around these people, like all his problems are gone. He has found it quit unusual too, as he has lots of problems, one of them being a recurring dream of two women dying in the pits of Haidia, tortured by the demons and taunted by the dwarves. This dream has caused great grief to Virgil and he has shown increased anxiety around everyone, especially after waking up in the morning.

History:
Virgil doesn’t seem to care about history of any kind, the future is more important than the past to him. He rarely tells stories, and when they are they are simple and of unimportant matters. The best histories that can be got out of him are short.

Virgil lived as a normal boy for most of his childhood. One day at the age of thirteen a warrior came to his small town and defeated the local master, from this day forward he was in love with sword fighting. His father being a sailor wanted him to join the trade of course, but the boy wouldn’t do it. He remembered his grandfather had a sword hidden away in his house somewhere so he went there. He was refused it and in his rage he beat the old man unconscious and stole the sword. He left the town that day and never returned.

He adopted the fighting style he saw the warrior use, and became proficient in it. And soon after was able to fight and defeat almost anyone. And for the next fourteen years of his life he spent using that sword and style in every way possible.

One day while traveling he came across a large city of fighters, and after an inspection by the leaders was given the opportunity to stay and train. Virgil, being an opportunist, quickly accepted. The main study of the city was the Way of strategy, and Virgil already strong in the fighting style, quickly became a noted warrior throughout the city. Although he also was disliked by the leaders because he only believed in the fighting section of strategy, and not the mental and spiritual.

After two years of distaste, he was forced to leave after a lost duel to one of the masters. He was told not to come back until he fully understood the Way, but that’s not to say he wasn’t joyous. He was amazed at the old mans skill, and he who had become the best in swordsmanship was defeated by him. In all he was eager to learn how such a man could have such skill, and he eventually figured that it must have been what he refused to study. So he set out again, with a renewed hope for the future, that he might one day be able to return and defeat the old man that is if he’s not already dead from age.

Part2

For several years now, Virgil has spent his time with the Aegis brigade. He found these people by way of a friend and soon joined. The guild was nothing big, only a force of three hundred or so many, elves and humans alike. They have no true purpose, only to go where they are needed. It is not a very social one either, mostly because they are hardly ever together, they are scattered all across Althanas for there own purposes and can be found almost anywhere. Though when traveling you will not be able to tell one from any other person, they act and dress in normal fashion (as much normal as warriors can be), except of course when they are in battle gear and they wear their insignia.

Virgil’s commands his own troop, a group of ten men that he is with almost at all times. They do all he says without question, and they all due their missions givin out to them. Each general takes there men to some place where they station and work out there orders, but Virgil is one of the highest in command and can choose his own place. He has chosen to take his troop to Haidia, for his own personal reasons, and has wandered there for almost a year now. He seeks answers to his dreams, though he has not found them yet.

Abilities:
The Way of Strategy
To say the least, strategy is a form of swordplay. But more than just a common school of fighting, strategy is an art form, it encompasses the whole body and spirit. It is the art of the warrior, it teaches the craft as a whole, made to overcome any man. Strategy teaches to understand yourself and your opponent by understanding the world, and by doing this you will be able to defeat any man. It is not only sword fighting, it knows and understanding the world.

Two swords, one heaven - EXPERT:
The main focus of the school of strategy. The term “two swords, one heaven” refers to the style where the user uses two swords in battle, one long sword and one companion sword. This style of swordplay relies heavily on the user’s skill in stance, the void, and timing to be used to its fullest. Although the two swords are not always used together in battle it is taught to be fluid in both as well as being able wield a long sword one handed equal in skill and power as with two hands.

• Swordplay--- Through years of practice Virgil has become an EXPERT in this form of swordplay.

Stance – ADVANCED:
Stance is an important part of battle. Normally it is a very basic form, not relying too heavily on any one type of fighting. It relies mostly on the warrior to use it to its fullest. Stance in the way is not only footwork, it is the fighting style that changes as the warrior see fit to efficiently combat any style necessary. Each stance has its own timing just as each school of swordplay has its own style. It is important for a warrior for a warrior to adjust his stance (and henceforth his timing) in almost every situation. The way the warrior knows what stance to use is by watching his opponent for his spirit, and when that is known, through understanding of the void it can be put to use in stance. It is taught that you must be able to adapt to any style of martial arts as the need arises.

• Stance- Virgil is ADVANCED in stance, and for this he is able to change his stance in any way that will efficiently counter the opponents. The counter stance will be as in an advanced state.

There are two important factors that make up stance, and consequently the warrior:

A. Timing - ADVANCED:
Timing in essence is much more than just governing speed. It is understanding the nature of the subject, what is shown and what is not shown. The art of timing governs the overall skill of the swordplay, it is what gives the warrior his advantage. It manages the fluidity of the sword-fencing, and by training this it will allow the user to the opponents slightest movements and judge his accordingly. The users timing can only be as good as his understanding of the void, because true timing can only be realized when the void itself is realized. It can also never be higher than the weapons skill because timing directly affects the swordplay.

• Rhythm- Rhythm is the most important skill in timing, it allows Virgil to always attack on time and never miss a beat. At this level he is able to keep a steady rhythm when in full health and concentration, he will never hit too hard nor too light and never in bad timing. The best example I’ve seen to explain this is by thinking of it like playing a song. When playing a song you don’t play too fast or too slow, you hit every note as it is made to be hit on its own timing, hard or soft, or else it will sound bad. Each song has its own rhythm and you must adjust to that to be able to play the music perfectly throughout the entire song until it is finished. The same can be thought of in sword fighting.
• Agility- 4x’s faster reaction time, and 5x’s faster than average person.
• Strength- Although he hasn’t tried testing his limits, Virgil is capable of lifting 500 pounds.
• Foresee- Much greater chance of apprehending the opponent’s next action.
• Critical strike-Much greater chance of landing a critical blow equal to 4x’s average attack power.

B. The Void (passive) - ADVANCED:
The void is that which is not. The void is nothingness. By far one of the most difficult concepts to grasp, but once understood strategy in its fullest will unfold. To know the void is to know what does not exist, and to know what does not exist one must know what does exist. This is the concept of the void.

The void can only be understood by cleansing the spirit. This is done by practicing the techniques of the way and by studying other schools of martial arts to gain full comprehension in all that exists. And by doing so all misunderstanding will be washed away to leave the spirit clean, and that is the void.

The purpose of the void in most basic levels is to have a perfectly clear mind so that you can understand the way in its fullest, when this is done all deviations can be seen clearly in battle and be exploited.

• Perception - Understanding the void gives Virgil the ability to see the spirit of everything around him. At his current void level of ADVANCED Virgil can see the spirit of his enemy almost flawlessly, although if used against higher levels what he sees may not be correct.
• Mentality- This also gives him mental stability, decreasing his susceptibility to mental assaults and allowing him almost perfect concentration.
• Focus - Virgil can focus his mind to visualize the world around him in a different way. This comes more as a flash of insight rather than actual sight, and whether what he finds out is useful or not he cannot tell. Also this is a mental ability, so it does not affect any physical aspects of himself, and he is not even able to control when this happens, it is always random but never more than once per two posts.
• Knowledge – It is important for Virgil to have a strong knowledge of everything. Though it may sound difficult to do, in thinking with the void, he is able to know much more than anyone else. Other than his pure knowledge of almost all common things, he also has a mental list of hundreds of styles of fighting he has seen throughout his life.

Gaze (passive) - The ability to look up, down, left, and right with moving his eyes. This ability has taken Virgil years to master, although worth it.

Equipment:
Gusoku- 34 lbs. Virgil’s battle armor. It is a full suit of armor, made mostly from arctic leather, silk, and sifon cloth. It is lighter than most full suits, because of the materials it is made from, while forfeiting only little of the protection. This armor is made to allow a full range of motion without to much resistance also, otherwise he wouldn’t wear it. He has taken to keeping the suit on when traveling, just because it is two cumbersome to carry everywhere.
• Kabuto- 4lbs. A helmet, beautifully made of iron, though now worn by use. It is black, with a round top, and a sun guard in front. It has a four tier neck guard, each plate made from arctic leather, and held to each other with silk chord. The inside has a fur coating for comfort.
• Do- 16lbs. The cuirass, it is a dark blue/black color It has thin steel rods, bent as the skeleton of the armor, in between two layers of arctic leather, with a third layer of thin fur for comfort. It is fastened on the right, with straps to hang on the shoulders for extra support. On the bottom, it holds six tassets that hang from the cuirass. They are made from plated arctic pelt, with five tiers held together by silk chord, just like the neck guard, and cover the below the waste.
• Sode- 2lbs. The shoulder pads, also a grayish blue color. They are made from plated arctic leather, and are in tiers of six. They connect to the shoulder straps of the cuirass.
• Kote- 3lbs. The sleeves, a dark tan color. Made from sifon cloth, they are only for the arms, and connect with the shoulder straps and the arm opening. They are made with extra room for the arms to move around in, and have hand guards that protect the outside of the hand with pieces of leather. Around the forearm there is leather bracers sewn on.
• Haidate- 3lbs. The thigh guards, made from dark grayish blue sifon cloth with arctic leather scales. It is a simply two pieces of cloth made to cover the thighs. It is made from long pieces of arctic leather cut to thin slices, then sewn together with silk chord to make a thin and strong armor.
• Suneate- 6lbs. The greaves, also made with arctic leather. The lather is in small strips vertical, sewn together and go up to the knee. It wraps around entirely and connects in the back. They also have a fur inside for comfort.
*** Note: This suit is heavy. When wearing this Virgil cannot operate in full speed. So his 5x’s faster speed, becomes 4x’s when wearing this. ***
Delyn Katana – A Delyn katana, of average size and weight. The one problem Virgil has with katana’s are that they are not very sturdy, and for this he has put an enchant on this sword to increase its hardness by half.
Wakizashi - Virgil’s companion sword, it is 30 inches long and also made of delyn.

Just be careful with the knowledge section of the Void power, since 'everything' is a very big category. Lol. Keep it to very common things.

Other than that, you're set to go.

Approved.
