Miehm

Name: Miehm
Age: 21
Race: Human)
Hair Color: Dark Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 210Lbs
Occupation: Tradesman/Freelancer
Personality: Pick every contradiction you can imagine. Seemingly amoral, his strong personal, and somewhat twisted, sense of right and wrong lead others to view the soft spoken man as some kind of monster. Among friends he can be at times unsettling, being just as happy discussing the legality of certain weapons in any given locale, or a dissertation on Nihilism as a legitimate, though misguided viewpoint. Violent and gentle, this man is a study in opposites.
Appearance: Tall, reasonably thin, and fairly fit, years of hard work uptime kept him in good shape, and his skills as a tradesman have yet to fail him in this new world. Over the last few years his leather jacket has gotten slightly mangled, and his hair has gotten a bit longer, but his blue jeans and shirts are still in decent shape, and he at least still has a pair of modern boots on his feet, which is more than he can say for some.
History: Growing up in the 90’s wasn’t bad. Growing up in the 90’s in Louisiana wasn’t bad. Growing up in Louisiana in the 90’s and then moving to New York. That was bad. Getting sucked into another dimension by a seemingly insane woman with a Jamaican accent? Might be an improvement. He WAS in New York after all… Turns out, it wasn’t an improvement. No one knew how to fry chicken, which he was prepared to forgive, but their biscuits were inexcusable. Damn sissy looking people all over the place too. Pointy ears, girls with tails, boys with tails, long flowy dresses on men, chicks in corsets… Ok the corsets were kinda nice, the rest was just odd. Over the last two years experience with construction has been a major bonus. Being somewhat accustomed to the ways of the “Street People” of New York has had its own benefits, as did the rough days of his youth. He now takes work as a “Freelancer”, either a skilled tradesman, or, more often, as a skilled guard or bouncer. Experience on the Bayou has made his services in relative demand as a wilderness guide, despite his relative unfamiliarity with the area, and he is slowly gaining a reputation as an adequate tracker, though inexperienced in the extreme.
Skills:
Where the…?: Not necessarily a skill, but a trained reflex. Miehm is able to draw any of his concealed knives with great speed, seemingly materializing the weapon from thin air. The dramatic flourish has stopped more fights than he can count, as the appearance of a 9” Bowie is often enough to deter even a determined assailant.
You call that a knife?: Miehm is skilled in knife fighting, with several varieties of knife, and knife class weapons. He is an Expert knife fighter, and often wields a pair of blades. When throwing he is above average, depending on the knife. Ones not designed specifically to be thrown leave him almost useless, while throwing knives can be convinced to hit the target 8 times in ten at least.
Yer shittin me: Not so much ability as a bizarre twist of fate. Whether it be luck or actual ability, he is able to somehow randomly avoid magical effects. In most cases this manifests as an attack gone wide from its mark, despite which a second strike flies straight and true, with unpleasant results. Five timews per day, with the statement “Yer shittin me.” He may avoid a single magical attack directed at him. His ability cannot null effects directed at anyone else, and only has the power to negate a given spell by a given mage once, no matter how many days pass between the first use and the second. He is not actively aware of this talent, and tends to use the phrase often, and with varying amounts of emphasis and added obscenity. No variations on the phrase produce the effect.
Shootin Iron: Miehm is an advanced shot.
Hunter Tracker: Growing up on the bayou, Miehm is an above average tracker in the most unforgiving locales in the world, and wilderness survival and tracking knowledge. He is a capable hunter of small game, and can feed himself and a small number of companions one good meal a day on caught game.
Equipment:
Trench Spike: Custom made for him, this one of a kind knife was first used in WWI, to puncture steel helmets and silently kill guards. Its utility against guards in his past has made it a decent weapon for his present, the heavy steel knuckles and thick Delyn spike it sports makes it more effective against an armored enemy than any regular knife. The knuckleduster grips prevent him from rapidly drawing it with his ability. This knife has been imbued with an electrical shock with the ability to stun an enemy, much like a modern taser. It may do this once per day.
Trench Knife: Similar to the Trench Spike, the stabbing point is replaced with an 8” blade of wicked Damascus, his preferred weapon if given the chance, due to the ability to both punch and slash his enemy. The knuckleduster grips prevent him from rapidly drawing it with his ability. It has been imbued with an ability to cause wounds that bleed more heavily than normal until treated.
Bowie Knife: A simple unadorned Dehlar blade 9” long, with the characteristic clip point that is so associated with the knife, simple steel quillions make this his preferred backup piece, as well as his preferred weapon of surprise. Worn at his back, it may be drawn using his “Where the…?” ability.
Throwing Knives: A trio of small steel knives, they are the smallest he carries, strapped to the inside of his arm, a special flourish can bring them to hand using his “Where the…?” ability.
Model 7400: Miehm's uptime hunting rifle. With a 4-12x40 Bushnell scope zeroed at 100 yards, this .270 caliber semi-automatic rifle is accurate out to a range of 300 yards. It has a maximum capacity of four rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. He has two spare magazines, and one box of twenty bullets, with 5 rounds remaining in the box. He may use his "Where the...?" ability to reload.
Armor: Miehm's clothing has been modified. His jeans are alchemically treated to be equivalent to steel chainmail leggings. His leather jacket has been reinforced with steel chainmail lining, and has increased padding. His boots have been toughened, though they remain effectively modern steel toed boots.
Talisman/80gbMP3 Player: A talisman that provides him with constant ambient music, and powers his MP3 player. Whatever song he has selected is played through the talisman, worn about his neck. Mostly heavy metal, occasionally Country or even more esoteric music will crop up. The volume is always sufficient for him to hear it over environmental sounds if he desires.
Home: Miehm owns a small house in Corone, which he occasionally visits, when not out mucking in other peoples business, or taking odd jobs on the mainland or in the wilderness. The interior reflects his ability as a carpenter, and is much nicer than the exterior would suggest, all the furniture having been handmade by himself.
Travel Pack: A frame pack with tent, bedroll and basic supplies, including food and methods for obtaining small game. It also contains a canteen, and a precious box of strike anywhere matches.
