I'm from RPGForumsOnline.com (http://rpgforumsonline.com/forum/index.php) and I'm here to tell you about our little corner of the internet.
Unlike Althanas, RPGFO isn't a persistent world itself - but we have Traditional fantasy, Modern fantasy, Realistic, Sci-Fi, and Mature themed roleplay forums for free form roleplaying. We also have Isis, a continent to explore and adventure in. With over ten thousand registered players we have almost 600 thousand posts - with new roleplays being made every day!
My personal favorite part of RPGFO is its Academy (http://rpgforumsonline.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=78). It's my favorite part because I put a great deal of personal effort into revamping it - well now it has a Library of articles by many of RPGFO's users, a collection of Tips from everyone on that forum, Seminars for public participation on Dueling and on Teaching, and fellow roleplayers who have volunteered their time to teach and tutor anyone seeking help.
We also have holiday events, so if you check in soon you can still amke it to the Christmas ball - as a vampire, a warewolf, an elf, a mage, or regular ole John D'Orc. D'Orc. I made a funny :D
Anyway, come check RPGFO out, it's good people.
