Name-Iris/Kane
Age-17
Race-Demon
Gender-Male
Height-5 feet 7 inches
Weight-147
Hair Color-Gold
Eye Color-Gold
Appearance
-Iris has golden eyes without pupils, it is most striking feature and he’s quite proud of it. His hair isn’t just blonde in color, but appears to actually be gold, and is kept cut close in an almost militaristic fashion. He has sharp features and a stern face with penetrating eyes, often he gives others the impression he is evaluating them. His body is light in build with dense muscle and no fat whatsoever. He typically wears knee high traveling boots as close to gold as he can find, slim cotton pants that become much bigger past the knee in faded red, an open sleeveless vest that has light leather underneath covered by gold cotton, and has small gold rings in piercings along his left ear spaced so close together it looks as though his ear is rimmed with gold. Although he is very thin his features are well defined and make him appear extremely in shape. He has the look a noble, but is by no means handsome.
Personality
-Iris is normally cool and collected, completely rational. Kane is the cause of decisions that are irrational, vain, or lazy. Iris feeds off the dragon’s great knowledge but only knows things as he needs to know them instead of as a whole. Acts of extreme greed are often features of both personalities.
Weapons
-None.
Armor
-Just the clothes on his back.
Manifestations
-Body of the Dragon: The presence of Kane has made Iris’s body vastly more powerful than it was normally. Despite the amount of injuries to his body Iris is currently able to move even though physically he shouldn’t, he is at roughly the same strength of an average human male. He can lift roughly his own bodyweight but not without strain and is unable to sprint.
Blood Talent
-Base-Gravity Manipulation: Iris’s blood talent is the ability to create, dispel, and alter gravity to a small degree. Currently he is only able to double gravity in a twenty foot radius about himself expending little effort. This does not affect him. (Magical resistance will not negate gravity; dispersion of magic will only release his control on gravity.)
-Branch-Gravity Slingshot: Iris is able to create a small center of super intense gravity just beyond his hand which affects anything he may be holding. Anything that he is holding will be yanked from his hand at tremendous velocity. Doing so requires a second of concentration and is still subject to his ability to aim. Objects must be the size of a basketball or smaller.
Skills
-None.
Traits
-Avarice: Iris is so fond of gold and wealth that he is actually able to smell it. His greed knows no limits and the search of gold has become one of the pivotal focus points of his life. Along with this greed has come a fear of losing it, and thus he is also afflicted with mild paranoia about thieves.
-Personality: Iris is one of the very few demons that seem to get along pretty well with humans. Most think of them as lowly beings that should be slaves and worship demons as gods, Iris included, but he has managed to find a common bond between them and himself. This is their incessant greed, they are a race to be respected in Iris’s eyes for they have that same insatiable desire that he holds so dear.
Racial Traits
-Blood Talents: Asherac demons are each born with a unique blood talent. A blood talent is something that they can do naturally that varies with each individual and it is said that no two Asheracs ever have the same blood talent. The power and use of these talents vary incredibly from levitation to color changing hair to shooting lightning from their fingers. The blood talents normally manifest around the age of twenty to thirty, although it first shows up by then most don’t fully master their talents until at least the age of forty. It is because of individual Asheracs that had powerful blood talents that they are where they are in demonic society.
-Creation: While humans and other such creatures believe themselves to have evolved from animals or have been created by gods, the demons hold no such beliefs. When the universe was born and the Gods and planets came into being, so too did the demons. Later the elves came and soon after followed the mortal races.
-Body: Physically the Asheracs look almost identical to humans and elves, only the demon races would be able to tell them apart and not at first glance. Their bodies function similar to humans in musculature and skeletal structure, but vary incredibly as far as internal organs go. While Asheracs do have lungs and a heart that is as far as the similarity goes. Behind their ribs lie organs that contain substances such as poison and acid to protect from attackers and would-be predators. They have no need to filter their blood and the blood clots faster than humans to reduce bleeding.
-Magical Resistance: The Asherac demons long lived in Haidia and were exposed to a great deal of magic, some from Haidia itself and much more from the huge variety of demons that had magical powers all about. Because of this they have gained a huge resistance to magic. However, this varies depending on the amount of exposure that each has had individually and so Iris has only the slightest resistance at the moment.
-Demonic Anatomy: The Asherac demons do not need to eat food or drink water such as humans and lesser beings nor do they require sleep. Because of this they have much slower regeneration than humans but they also don’t permanently lose parts either and their bodies don’t wear down with age. As long as they are alive they will eventually regain and recover what was damaged or lost, be it muscle and skin or entire arms or legs. It will just take a long time. The oldest known Asherac lived for two thousand years and lost nine arms, three legs, five ribs, and was rumored to have lost over forty eyes. How he came upon such wounds as these is unknown but all Asherac believe it is undeniably true.
Items
-Coin Purse: Purse he wears openly in public filled with razor sharp blades and laced with poison incase pickpockets try to steal from him.
-Actual Coin Purse: Compact dark leather packet that can be strapped to various spots in his vest. He carries multiple of these on him at all time incase a craftier thief than a pickpocket tries to steal from him. All but the real one are also filled with razors and laced with poison.
-Eyeglass: Magnification glass that helps in appraising value of gems and purity in materials. He’d never let a merchant rip him off with anything fake or low quality.
History
-Iris was born to two average Asherac demons of relatively low power. Their blood talents were useful but common and not very powerful, enabling them to live but not making them in any way great. Because of this, they weren’t wealthy or influential as many Asheracs were and they were resented because of this. Iris despised the fact that they were content to live as they did, and so he sought out that which would make him powerful. First, he had to learn from creatures of great power and so he went in search of dragons, creatures that were well known to hoard wealth in great cavernous lairs. Not just any dragon would do either, he needed an ancient and successful dragon, no newly hatched whelp would do. It didn’t take him long to figure out that such dragons didn’t dwell in Haidia, and so he was forced to take to the outside world.
Once outside it took little time learned from the story tellers of where great dragons where known to dwell and after much traveling he found one in the far north of Salvar, the very edge of the world. It was there that he found Kane. Kane was a dragon of many millennia that had seen civilizations rise and ruin, a dragon far older than could be believed. Kane wasn’t his name of course, no beings not even the demons could speak or hear words of the dragontongue. Iris found him deep within an icy fissure, deep in a pit near as deep as Haidia itself, the massive serpent spread out upon lusterless gold and silver bed, hundreds of feet across and all but covered by his girth. Coming closer Iris could see the signs of age clearly, his incredible armor of scales was damaged with many bare spots, great grotesque scars causing irregular scales to form against the grain, milky white eyes, the very place stank of death. Even in his great age and state Kane was a dragon to behold. Towering taller than two story buildings, great spearhead shaped face with long cruel teeth, massive arcing shoulder bones and powerful muscle that operated sweeping majestic wings, greater than any bird and curved more than any bat, leading down the great tail twice his body length cloaked in spikes. He was a thing of beauty even now, how fierce some he must have been. Even then, Iris could never have hoped to bend such a creature to his will, but they each desired what the other had and so a pact was made. Using the great ancient tongue of the dragons, a language that changed reality by its very utterance and from which words of power were derived, Iris and Kane sealed the pact.
In the distance small children played in the snow, adults contemplated the late meal, elders told stories to educate and culture the youth, and they lived their small village lives. The first sign was the straining of dogs against their bonds, the strays had all gone and domestics went rabid and defied their owners in a mad attempt to flee. The people were the last to notice and only when the huge column of bright light erupted in the distance. Possibly a mile across in diameter the beam continued for several seconds and stopped, followed closely by a sudden flash. Seconds later the ground shook and the ice cracked, cracked deep down to its core and great fissures opened and the village fell into the earth.
For weeks he laid there as his broken body coming back together. Surrounding him was steep crater of ice and a small pool in which he floated. The water had long since changed to red and was only still liquid because of the blood that seeped into it. Once he was together it still required a vast amount of time to make the ascent over the crater’s crest and longer still to trek though the frozen wastelands above even Salvar. No human settlements remained, he vaguely recalled seeing one or two small centers where the hardiest of beings resided, but even they had fled or succumb to the cold.
When at last Iris reached the Salvar gate and returned to the comfortable warmth of Haidia, he didn’t look half the demon he was. Clothes were but rags held to him by dried blood, gaping wounds covered his body in all places except a strange marking on his back. On his back a dim grey stain in the shape of a winged serpent twists its way around his spine.
