Hola hala~ I'm Kaze, another applicant from RPGFO, aiming to join the ToC! =D Well first off I'd like to ask a mod to look through this sheet and give me some feedback, because I've had some trouble with this concept before. It's not generally used by most, since duellist tend to like to use only a single profficiency... but heck, I've been using it for the better part of a year, so I thought I'd try it out with the bosses before I go partner hunting here!

Oh, and a howdy do to everyone on Althanas forums! XD

Name: Kaze
Age: 27
Sex: male
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 74kg (I dont know llbs conversions for this, sorry)
Hair Colour: Chocolate Brown
Eye Colour: Beetle Brown
Occupation: Warmonger / Mercenary for Hire.
Personality: Sassy and occassionally witty, this warmonger has a flare for being showy and flamboyant, having a dirty mouth before a battle to guys but a practicing cassanova to the ladies. He loves trash-talking his enemies before, during, and after a battle, but still has a soft side for those he's beaten with less problems than he usually has. When fighting even-handed enemies, he tends to lie and bluff his attacks in, or to trick the enemy into doing what he wants them to, but still retaining enough honour to fight a fair battle. When fighting those that overpower or overshadow him, he isn't afraid to pull out the big-guns to take them out the sleazy way. He's got a soft spot for women, particularly red-heads, but just because he HAS one doesnt mean he can't ignore it. When he loses his head, he goes beserk and just hacks and slash at whatever is around him; usually with a weapon that'll hurt, real bad. The moral of that story; don't make him lose his head.

Appearance: Kaze would be what most consider, a passing "looker". He is short compared to many with Cacausian-tanned skin, but being fit with a chest that doesn't need to barrel to match his sharp oval face, and, and pleasantly fair and clear features which accentuate his semi-good looks and confident stance. He has the clear bulge of muscles along his arm and chest, and probably a six-pack; no one's seen him take off his shirt yet. Still to call him brawny would be the mistake of the century, and this is further confirmed by his long, slender figure further along his bodyline. On each of his hands he wears a palm glove (with his fingers showing), left being black and right being white; respectively, the gloves have an emerald-green and ruby-red gem fixed into the back of the glove's palm. He wears a black long-sleeve tunic and a pair of trousers, which are covered over by a brown leather corset/vest, and several metal guard plates for his arms, tighs, and shins. He has a number of belts which loop from his waist by his sides, crossing one another around the waist line and at the light drop of their loops; more for than just being cool (and substituting needing to wear chains for effect), they serve as weapon holsters should be decide to bring extra weapons along. If he does not, they still look cool.

Weapons:

Tracer Gems- A pair of relics from his old world. These gems are neuropathic recievers designed to make him a secret weapon; a human armory.

Green- Being in part, super-computer chips from a world-wide mainframe, the gem hold the information of almost every known weapon, including schematics and working details. They synch with Kaze's brainwaves, reading the signals he sends out with imagery details and concepts to correspond with already known schematics until the weapon is at a complete match, glowing green as they do so.

Red- Being in part, super-computer chips from a world-wide mainframe, the gem holds the information of every natural phenomena that is capable of happening in the world. They synch with Kaze's brainwaves, reading the signals he sends out with imagery details and elemental properties and concepts to correspond with already known possibilities, thus allowing the simulation of natural phenomena; or otherwise known as "elemental magic", glowing red as they do so.

Both- As they were oiginally only parts of a server that held information, they have been modified to use what is in the surroundings; such as the metal elements in the ground or the heat in the atmosphere, to construct whatever it is that was being simulated by the gems to temporarily bring the construct into reality. In this way Kaze is able to "Trace" a sword, a lance, a bow and arrow, maybe even a riffle or a laser cannon, but keep it real for a limited period of time; around three to five minutes at longest. The same for his "magic", though that function runs on a fire and forget system; an ice spell is released, and after it has been completed to the imagined state, natural properties take over (such as an electric bolt leaving static in the air, or ice slowly melting from the heat). They are, in terms of toughness, close to diamonds. They are also directly synched only to Kaze's brainwave readings, and will not respond to any other attempted user. They are also partially fused to him, connected to his spinal cord at the back of the neck by two yellowish nerve-like wires which seem seared into the surface of his skin (thus the long-sleeve to keep it hidden). Severing the wires terminates his connection to the Tracers. Only Kaze knows how to remove the two gems from his skin without damage (though not without pain). As a side note, it has recently been discovered that they actually draw their source of power from magnetic fields produced by the earth's own gravitational force. What that means, he will not tell.

Armour: A Leather vest/corset, it cannot get any simpler than that. Metal guard-platings on his arms (upper and lower), shins and tighs, which are made of a metal with toughness close to dense carbon-plating. And occassionally, his two Tracers which can be used as miniscule shields.

Skills: (Traits that do not directly affect the enemy)

Trace- His base ability of synching his brainwaves to his two Gems and conjuring weapons/magic spells. The two can only be maintained by his focus, and the more complicated a schematic or magic imaging, the longer time is needed to match the schematics or imaging. Losing of focus will cause the weapons to dissapear, or for mid-trace constructs to revert back to non-active. Having used this as his main form of battle, he has achieved a proficiency of "Mastered" for this skill. (He can use traced weapons for the same duration it took to trace.) (Traced Magic can only work with ELEMENTAL Magic: Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Light, Darkness, Lightning, Earth.)(Only one construct per Tracer can be traced at one instance.)

Multitasking- This fortunate difference from stereotypical males is what gives him the ability to stay alive on the playing field. He is able to do and think of different things at once, though the more things he does the more his focus is spread thin. As he actively does this, he has achieved a proficiency of "Advanced" for this skill.

Reaction Time- He's a human weapon. He's been bred and experimented on to fight wars. He was groomed to be able to use the Tracers to fullest potential. You don't get normal humans to do that sort of job. Saying so, Kaze has the physical attributes of a fit athlete. While not being able to deal killer blows with a single punch, or being able zoom around the battlefield like some genetically enhanced freak of nature, he has a faster reaction time than several martial artists, and almost the same speed as professional grade competitive shooters (he can bend his body sideways the same amount of time it takes for them to draw their gun and fire, which is less than half a second for the not-so-good ones. He dies against the top shooters.) and with focus he can speed up his brain processing and make everything slow down just a bit (even if his body can't keep up with the speed of what he can see). He moves only slightly faster than a gymnast could (meaning he still loses to olympic sprinters), but he can pull off a few acrobatic stunts to wow his opponents or to get himself out of tight spots. It would be safe to say he has a proficiency of around "Advanced" for this skill.

Weapons Mastery- He conjures weapons for a living. Only God knows how much he practices in his spare time, but any Weapon's Master, even if he has several dozen weapons to deal with, would have a proficiency of "Above Average" or "Advanced" for most of them. In this case, his most "advanced" would be the spear, followed by gun. Everything else is "above average", save for the obscure weapons which he has an "average" skill with.

Martial Arts Mastery- It is usually a moot point, but it should be said that Kaze understands some rudimentary martial arts concepts, as well as the poses and several useful attack from some of the forms; he has no set form for himself, nor does he have mastery in any martial arts form, and uses it more for situational advantages or out of reflex. He knows several moves from most types, and are versed in their execution; he however, cannot string most of his martial arts attacks together smoothly, earning a proficiency of merely "Average or Below" for them.

Reading- As it comes with the job type, Kaze comes across people with many profession. Most of those he has done battle with before are not even human. As it were, he has to make it a habbit to figure out an opponent's weakness before he gets killed from it. He also has to figure out enemy patterns, and play it to his advantage, and not fall into his opponent's hands by being overly confident as he has a few times in the past. While he may not be as good as some at reading his opponent's next moves, he is very good at reading his opponent's past moves and battle style, adjusting his own to fit into their natural enemy's, together with learning their weaknesses by their reaction to attacks. Though there are some slip-ups, he has a success rate of predicting weaknesses of roughly 65%, earning him a proficiency in this trait of roughly "Above Average" level.

Abilities: (Directly affects the opponent)

None.

History:

Kaze was born in a world of war. In his generation, his world was facing ultimate destruction as a super-computer who had total access over the world's mechanical factories and such named Ona had, after going haywire, decided that eliminating humankind was the best way of preservation of the earth and humankind itself. Humans were forced into secure locks of civilization, while the rest of the world had been taken over by Ona's army of robots and cyborgs and whatnot other sci-fi treats. Humans faced extinction, thus they devised ways in order to fight back, solutions to the Ona Threat.

One of those solutions was the creation of Human Armories, a secret project held by all the few remaining governments of the world in conjunction with many private military companies. Humans were selected from the military, and reformed or remade for the specific reason for housing modified crystals stolen from Ona's mainframe while she was still under human control. Kaze was an unfortunate soldier selected for the project. He and the rest of the group underwent tedius and vicious training, all of the victims barely out of their teens, and underwent some genetic modifications to improve their compatibility with the crystals. They underwent gruesome mental torture to strengthen their minds, their reaction times, and ability to assess the situation flawlessly. But when the test came, most were incompatible with the Tracers; the majority died trying to synch with the gems, and only a handful survived the synching. Undergoing training to control their weapons, Kaze and his team was each given a specific role and specialty; some took massive firepower, having four or five Weapons Tracer embedded on them, while others had the same for Magic Tracers. But when testing out their true combat effectiveness, it was founded that those with numerous crystals embedded on often suffered mental illness and soon died of brain damage from the Crystals. The remaining ones had only a few, like Kaze.

Unfortunately for him, Ona had been alerted to their existance with the battle test-runs. She devised an ultra-dimensional device which would send the threats into different universes; and in the bid to destroy it, Kaze was hit by the device's effects and sent into another world altogether. In that new world, he made friends and almost-lover with a redheaded girl; and was seperated in a war which involved both of them fighting for their side. He now searches the strange world he had been thrown into for her, meeting adversaries to keep himself sharp and spread his fame, in hopes that she would hear and come looking for him.

It was in a pocket of that weird dimension that he had accidentally sprang ANOTHER interdimensional trap and was transported to a place of mystery, called the Garden of Secrets...

Hey there Kaze, welcome to Althanas and the Tournament of Champions!

As you said, I can see a big potential for powergaming, but since you yourself are aware of it, I trust that you know how to use this tracing ability reasonably.

Still, I would like to clarify a few things: is there a limit to the phenomena he can replicate? Because black holes, for one, are a natural phenomena. No matter which way you cut it, a black hole weapon is powergaming, as there's literally nothing you can do except hope that it evaporates due to Hawking radiation. The same goes for every other macrocosmic phenomena you can think of. If you could stipulate that no such phenomena may be 'traced' within a short battle (therefore, any battle in the ToC), then that's a good first step.

If he creates melee weapons or magical melee weapons, they last only the same amount of time it took him to trace them (so if it takes three posts to trace a weapon, he'll be able to use it for three posts after that).

Long range weapons are a bit of problem. Say he traced a normal gun, he'd be able to shoot six rounds with it before it vanishes. Say he summons a sci-fi laser rifle, he can shoot it twice before it vanishes. In these cases, the time it takes to trace them will reflect the power of each shot (so a gun that took a turn to trace would be pretty weak, but one that took 3-4 would be something like a 500 S&W Magnum or a laser rifle). You can't trace weapons with high firing rates (like gatling guns or submachine guns), because that makes dodging nigh impossible.

Spell tracing would be more or less the same, though I trust you won't reproduce phenomena such as meteors, sudden combustion, desintegration, nuclear explosions, quasars, supernovae, etc. Earthquake generators are okay as long as it's one use and doesn't reach too high on the Richter Scale.

Traced explosives are one use only, and the strength of the explosion depends on the amount of time used to trace the explosive. You won't be using C4 after tracing for one post.

Reaction Time should be a little weaker, perhaps Advanced instead of Expert. I trust you will play him as such.

Considering the sheer amount of skills he has that are above average (and above that), I would be grateful if you could reduce his Reading to 'Slightly above average'.

Of the 3 weapons with which he has advanced skill (spear, sword and gun) reduce one of them to whatever rank is directly below. From what I've seen, it seems you work with "below average - average - above average - advanced - expert - master".

Mind you, I trust that you know how to play this character in a reasonable way. This is only to assauge any worries your opponents may have when facing your character. I'm pretty sure all of the specifications above were what you had planned for your character already, so this is just to put that information out in the open. Of course, you're still at liberty to choose exactly how many posts it takes to trace a particular weapon. If it was adequately powered will be decided by the judge taking care of your battle when it is completed.

In any case, add those clarifications in, and you're good to go. Just remember to play this ability responsibly!

Lol, thanks for getting back quickly. The last time I submitted this concept, there was a fight between me and another contestant for 3 days before it mellowed out... ~_~

I've actually never thought of directly tracing explosives before, so I can assure you I wont abusively trace C4 bombs after a single post.

By Natural Phenomena it was suppose to be elemental magic, not including space/cosmic phenomena... no meteors, desintegration, nuclear explosions, quasars, supernovae... but I do do sudden combustion in the form of a blast of flame. Does that count? O.o

I thought I could get the skills to that level becase he didnt have any abilities... oh well. XD All have been lowered as requested.

Guns traced before are a flint-locked pistol with single shot and a railgun with no rapidfire capabilities. Lasers include a laser beam which deconstructs atomic structures which the beam passes through, leaving clean wounds; no rapid fire. Sparse charges as well, 9 turns standard for me. Is that alright?

Now that you've clarified, I'm a lot more comfortable with this.

And I'd say that Trace in itself is a big enough ability to offset the skills, especially since it can more or less replace both magic and weaponry :P

And when I say sudden combustion, I mean instantaneous cremation of a person by the unexplained unleashing of ludicrous amounts of heat. The kind of phenomenon that can't be predicted or countered, you know? If you're shooting balls of fire, that's perfectly fine.

By turns, you include those of your opponents? 9 turns would mean two rounds of posts, plus your third post? Or do you mean 9 actual rounds (so about 36 posts)? I'm thinking the former, because most fights probably won't reach 30 posts, or even 20 posts.

As long as it takes time for him to use that laser gun, since it's a real potential One-Hit KO.

The changes are fine, and so my work is done. I'll just stress this point one last time: use the tracing reasonably and responsibly!

You are hereby approved!
