The Whistle

Name: Corem
Age: 27 years
Race: Half – Demon
Gender: Male
Height: Five feet, ten inches
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Piercing Green
Skin Color: Tanned
Size: About 240 pounds, 5’10”.
Language: Common, Demonic (A universal dialect that is generally understood, but looked down upon, by most demons)
Occupation: Adventurer, mage, scholar, martial artist
Appearance: Despite his Demonic heritage, Corem’s features appear as a regular human’s. He has a sharp, angular jaw line, which only seems to accentuate the fact that his head is rather squarish. Covering the majority of this square is a mop of dark brown hair. It is not pulled into any particular hairstyle, simply allowed to grow in a natural way. It fully covers his ears and the majority of his neck, and reaches down to just below his eyebrows; he makes sure that it doesn’t interfere with his vision. He has rather thick eyebrows, but to the casual observer they get lost in his hair. The eyes are deep-set below them, and surrounded by a dark bruise, the sign of an insomniac. They’re a piercing green color, and their intensity often puts off new acquaintances. Situated between these is an oddly bent nose. From its shape, it has clearly been broken on more than one occasion. Below that is a slightly open mouth, revealing two rows of perfectly white teeth.
His head is set atop a somewhat long, muscular neck, partially obscured by a black collar. The collar is neatly bent over in a proper fashion, and spidery silver runes adorn the fabric. The material is fairly soft against the skin, but at the same time it holds a curious rigidity. The collar expands into a black polo shirt, and the undone silver buttons reveal a white cotton undershirt. The sleeves are cut short so that his large biceps are not obstructed. A thick red cloth is wrapped tightly round his waist, holding up his black pants. Although the belt is simple cotton, the pants are made the same material as the shirt. They’re baggy, so that he gets a full range of movement, and they make a crisp snapping noise when he moves his legs quickly. Much like the shirt, they are also embroidered with silver; the hems have the same type of design as the collar. The pant legs cover the top part of his boots, but the leather extends out the bottom. They elevate him about an extra inch off the ground, and the soles are very tough. Unlike the rest of his wealthy – class clothes, his boots seem to be pretty weathered and used. He carries his belongings and travel supplies in a small backpack, which he will remove in the case of combat.
Skills and Abilities:
Abilities:
Corem is a very skilled dark magician. As a result, he can pull off some of the more difficult spells. Despite this, he generally narrows down his arsenal to a few basics that become useful in combat, choosing to master his fundamentals. His philosophy is that it is better for a tower to have a good foundation than a magnificent crown, for without its base the structure will crumble. Corem has a large pool of energy to draw from while casting his spells, but can run through his resources fairly quickly if he overexerts himself. Corem has large resistances to any opposing dark energy, and can see in the dark.
He also has extensive training in the martial arts, and is an expert in the field of unarmed combat. Although he has a large, muscular build, Corem prefers fast, deceptive technique to brute force, despite the fact that he has the power for it.Although Corem prefers to strike with his hands, he can also work techniques off his legs. These expand to include more than just kicks and knees, as he can perform takedowns and trips fairly easily against unsuspecting opponents. He can grapple incredibly well against opponents his own size, and can hold his own against some who are larger than him. Because of his brutal training methods, he is about twice as fast as a normal man.
Skills:
Claw of the Demons: The Claws of the Demons is a spell that allows Corem to channel his energy into his extremities and unleash the pent up force upon contact with a surface. This energy is usually released through the use of his unarmed strikes; when he strikes an opponent with his hands, he takes the opportunity to force some of the energy into their body. The power of the strike and the power of the spell factor into how much energy is transferred; a powerful strike will relocate more energy than a weaker strike, and a more powerful enchantment provides more energy to be released. The spell does not expend any of Corem’s energy when he first casts it, but slowly drains his power over time. More powerful manifestations of the ability drain more power. It physically appears to be a black fire that engulfs Corem’s fists. Notable is the fact that Corem can extend energy through his feet as well, but his attack hits his footwear if he is not barefoot.
Soul of the Demons: The Soul of the Demons is not a specific spell, but rather a generalization of the spells that Corem casts beyond a hand – to – hand range. By focusing his energy, Corem can fabricate his energy outside his body. He can then manipulate the harmful energy and convert it into numerous attacks. Some of the more simple spells are a ball of darkness that he throws at his opponent, a beam, and diamond – shaped spears. These spells require less energy to forge, but the exact cost depends on how much energy Corem chooses to forge them with. More complex spells can deal more damage or can be trickier to dodge, but require a higher base costs of Corem’s energy.
Shield of the Demons: The Shield of the Demons is a touch spell to pull of, but constant drilling in its use have made Corem more or less efficient at its practice. The spell is much like The Souls of the Demons in that Corem’s energy is generated outside his body. However, instead of firing the energy at his opponent, he can focus on the power until it becomes nearly tangible, and therefore capable of blocking physical attacks. Although the spell takes longer to prepare than other spells, it often leaves his enemies reeling when they find the mage just blocked their mighty blade with his bare hands. More powerful blows require more powerful iterations of the spell, and weaving an effective barrier to shield a second person also requires more energy than usual. To block attacks magical in nature, Corem must put a power into his shield equivalent to the power of the incoming spell.
Cloak of the Demons: The Cloak of the Demons is a useful spell in which Corem forces energy out of his body and weakens it, leaving the darkness qualities innate to the magic but sacrificing the harmful aspects in favor of quantity. The darkness blankets the battlefield, dealing no damage but impairing the sight of anyone who cannot see in the dark. The veil stretches out for about thirty feet, originating at the point where Corem stands when he casts the spell. Anyone outside the sphere cannot see into it, unless they have dark vision (and vice versa). A side note is that since Corem’s other attacks are composed of darkness, they are perfectly camouflaged in this environment to those without dark vision, and slightly harder to percieve for those with.
Wings of the Demon: This spell is similar to the Shield of the Demons in arcanic principle, but different in the application. They both employ much focus, which allows Corem to direct the energy into a physical form. The Shield bends the energy into a barrier; true to its name, the Wings of the Demons creates wings. The wings sprout from his shoulder blades, and Corem must sacrifice his shirt to allow them to form. They have a wingspan of about twelve feet, and are jet black in color. They appear much like a bat’s except they are made of energy. The spell lasts for about ten minutes. Because it expends so much energy, Corem generally only uses it in emergencies, or if he must face an airborne opponent.
Yeah, so whoever's accepting these, feel free to give me some advice on it. I'm not too good at Bios in the first place (I prefer non - bio entries, but wasn't sure if you'd approve), and I was a bit confused in regards to your bio - system.
