So, a friend of mine and I were complaining that a roleplay forum we both frequent (The Roleplayers Realm on AnimeLeague) was too focused on fighting than telling a story. I demanded she find a website with more roleplaying than fighting, and she directed me here. She says she'll join in a month or so because he's going through a creativity depression, so I'm testing the waters for her.

Hey hey! Welcome the Althanas! This is definitely the site your looking for if you are trying to find writing over fighting. Though, of course, we still have the conflict and resolution type threads that you can find anywhere, but they're much different than just fighting. IC winning doesn't exist, if that's what you are used to, it all OOC.

Althanas was started as more of a 'writing workshop', a site used to help the writer learn to become a better off rather than a better fighter. If you have any questions regarding the way the site works, or what you can expect to find while here you are more than welcome to hit up any mods via IM or PM. I've been on both sites. AL has always focused on fighting. It was apparent when SSJMewtwo and Matt Nada joined the ToL on GUA. Superb, but they were both GT League (Which I've also been on with SRPC) style. Heavy emphasis on descripive battle, kind of faltered at everything else. I tried both RP areas but found myself disinterested when I scored lowly on my introduction thread because I didn't fight anything and scored even lower on that power level thing... the one where you give two threads and then you're judged based on them, because of the same reasons. I gave two CI's (Character Interactions) figuring they would be better to show my capabilities.

Althanas is much more writing oriented. I think a lot of the battles, especially in quests, are planned right from the beginning and then choreographed out. I've spent extensive amounts of time just lurking and reading. Well, I'm sure you found the right place. Welcome and don't feed the bears.
