Paranoia Agent
01-06-09, 08:15 PM
Name: Tanaka Daisuke
Age: 18
Race: Human, Planetouched
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Hazel
Height: 5'4
Weight: 113
Occupation: Tailor
Personality: Brash and cocky, Daisuke tends to rush into situations without thinking, doing or saying things he comes to regret later. He's got a soft spot for cute things and young children, and despite his attitude, he can be surprisingly kind when he wants to be.
Appearance: Thin and average-sized, Daisuke is nothing extraordinary, although his skin is unusually pale, especially in contrast with his dark hair. His hazel eyes don't stand out, especially in light of his tendancy towards high contrast, saturated, and usually dark colors in his clothes.
Weapons: N/A
Armor: N/A
Other Equipment:
Genzon Cloth: A roll of cloth that was soaked in the blood of a red-eyed demon, these discarded bandages took on a life of their own, becoming filled with cruelty and bloodlust. Daisuke was unlucky enough to receive the cloth as a regular bandage, completing the ritual that bound it to him. The cloth possesses a mind of its own, and because of the demons blood, it can become as hard as steel and form a sharp, cutting edge. It can move on its own or with direction from Daisuke.
Fukai Needles: A set of sewing needles that were used to mend the clothes of an angel in disguise. The needles are blessed and have the power to suppress demonic forces and prevent possession. Not only does Daisuke use them for sewing and mending clothes, but he also uses them to suppress the power of the Genzon cloth, only releasing the cloth when he needs it for battle.
Skills/Abilities:
Corruption: The more he uses the Genzon cloth, the more his personality becomes violent and cruel, the demon within the cloth gains more and more control over Daisuke's action. Even the Fukai needles only temporarily stop the affect, but as more and more of the demon's essence is transferred to Daisuke, the protection becomes weaker and weaker.
Oni Attunement: Because of his attachment to the Genzon cloth, Daisuke can sense demons or demonic magic being used nearby, and if the Genzon cloth is unbound, it will point towards the source and guide him. Additionally, the cloth allows him to both speak and understand all the demonic tongues, including the dialects created by magicians for binding spells or other demonic magic.
History:
Hailing from Dheathain, a small family of traveling garment makers and repairers had to learn to survive amidst a harsh and dangerous land. Daisuke was born on the road, never calling anywhere home. He never heard the full reasons why his family traveled around Dheathain, although he did suspect that his parent's pursuits were beyond simply sartorial concerns. When he was 15, he and his parents were attacked while on the road by a terrible beast. They died protecting him, and he recieved mortal wounds.
Found by a mysterious hermit, his wounds were treated, wrapped in what he would later discover was the Genzon cloth. The hermit protected him for the next few years, while Daisuke learned about the dangers and the power of the Genzon cloth. The hermit also gave him the Fukai needles, explaining that they were leftover from the attack on his parents.
The hermit, as it turned out, was an ancient magician who had only taken Daisuke in to use him in his experiments with the Genzon cloth, since he was apparently too afraid to bind it to himself. As a result, Daisuke became the unwilling bearer of fatal burden. His brash, adventurous personality aside, he understands the risks of using the Genzon cloth, and is usually loathe to remove the needles unless fighting is an absolute necessity.
