Lord Saladin

Well, I guess I had better do the OOC intro bit as I've decided to get involved with Althanas outside of the ToC.
I'm Lord Saladin, also known as just Saladin and also ConvolutedMusings. I hail from, most directly, Roleplay Gateway. However, I began RPing nearly five years ago in a place called teenchat.com, where I was involved in chat based RP.
Finding gwing.net (which later became Roleplay Gateway) a little over two years ago, I also discovered forum roleplay. As a writing enthusiast (I've been writing as a hobby since I was about nine years old (nearly 14 years in total now)) forum roleplay was exactly what I was looking for.
And it was on Gateway that my 'history', as it were, began. I acted as moderator for some time, and also founded and ran the original Roleplay Academy which was designed to help new RPers. After some irrelevant period of time, I became just an ordinary member of Gateway, but of late my activity levels have been pretty low.
And so it was that I found Althanas, through the invitational and Tournament of Champions, which I am taking part in. As someone who started roleplaying as an outlet for my writing creativity, I pretty quickly realised that Althanas was just the place I was looking for - a forum where it is your skills as a writer that define you, not how 'bad ass' you can make your character.
So, investigating further, it turned out I was right. I made my character for the Althanas world, started up a thread in Scara Brae, and ended up here, writing this. And that is where I am, right now, feeling pretty much as though a complete emigration will to Althanas will shortly ensue.
I am pretty confident Althanas will be a fantastic tool for advancing my writing abilities, and my already well established roleplaying skill and understanding will be enhanced as a result. Of course, I am hoping my experience will be of benefit to the forum and those I roleplay with.
Most importantly, I am looking forward to working with others who are as enthusiastic about writing as I am, and working together to make some mighty epic quests and battles.
Well, I've certainly gone on for too long, so I will be you a farewell for now, and look forward to meeting y'all over the course of my time here.
