Reva
01-10-09, 02:17 AM
Name: “Reva” Monica Adel
Age: 448, appears early mid 20s
Race: revenant demon familiar
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: dark brown
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 122lbs
Occupation: Tracker/ Bounty Hunter

*Personality: Reva appears quiet, to almost appearing indifferent at the worst case scenario, but if anything it is more of past lessons learned that stays her hand or tongue. The are times when her old personality shows up and it can appear that she is prideful and competitive, she was a leader in her previous life, of her clan, her pack, her work, and there are times she can be stubborn in her decisions of what is best for her or another. Although her state of being sometimes brings questions to her place in the cycle of life, her ‘life’ is hers and not something to be wasted or given away, it is not something that is the most highly cherished thing, the fear of death was never her driving force in life, and with no clan or pack to protect in this life, she feels at times, she merely exists.

*Appearance: Skin the color of amber tea, and naturally arched eyebrows. Almond shaped eyes can be the most mesmerizing surrounded by feathery lashes with the almost unadulterated expressiveness of the brown orbs, from warmth and compassion to a direct piercing stare that will not be denied. Standing at 5’8” with generous curves, and her smile when it truly forms is disarming.

She likes jewelry the clatter of bangles at her wrist, the shine of rings, the tickle of earrings, and the bells of the anklet upon her ankle. Upon her wrists are a pair of golden bracelets that show a collared wolf running through flames in the center is a war hammer bearing the seal of the demon that holds possession of her soul. These bracelets are unbreakable and an irremovable even with the severance of her hands. These are outward signs mark her as a demons’ pet yet as her soul was not sold or traded, but entrusted to the demons’ care, her ownership cannot be transferred to another without both consent, or the death of her demon. Her clothing tends to be obscured beneath a thin hooded cowl the color of dirt. Beneath it her cloak is fitted, soft leather boots and pants, a red blouse that reveals a v of flesh and curving breast, with black leather under bust waist cincher.

*History: When most people barter in souls, they sell, people sell their souls, for power, greed, or revenge, in a few cases out of love, more years ago than she can count a promise was made between a mortal and a demon, two that had shared so much, had been lovers, friends, allies, and partners. More than twenty years ago Monica Adel had been badly hurt, but even as she healed, her body repairing the damage that had been wrought she had looked at one of the few friends and allies that knew the truth, had had known her since her change, from when she was a girl and drew from him a rare and binding promise. A promise to take care of her after her death, in a way giving assurance that there would in fact be peace. It was strange how one didn’t who didn’t believe in the judgment of heaven and hell willfully gave her soul to a demon for peace.

Monica Adel in life had been complicated, her life had been complicated, daughter to a unique clan of gypsies where the blood of the beasts and magic ran strong, her younger sister disappeared when they were but children, her father became a slayer to all those that would pose a threat to his remaining daughter and raised her to be the same until his own disappearance. Monica better know as Mona and her mother tried their best to move on with their lives, and waited hoping one day their loved ones would return. They lived in a village called Darkmoor where despite the overwhelming human population, things of dark and legend ran rampant, discreetly and not so, where all the animals met were not as they seemed. She left for a time, to go to train in the ways of her train in the small village of her mother’s people, a place much safer than where she had been born, where she learned the ways of medicine, business, and cards despite the more mystical parts of her family.

Mona returned to her home, her mother was leaving it to her daughter to represent and lead their clan in the hostile village in family tradition was in need to run the family shop in town. No longer selling the old witches brew and herbs that those before her had, she sold blades and information. She made a name for herself with those like herself, a member of no pack and while not outrageously blatant of her condition, trouble seemed to follow the woman. From a demon who some how became her friend over the years, that was at most times a hired killer, to a priest bent on cleansing the village and if the woman would not help, she was one to be eradicated. From apprentice witches, summoned angels, and visiting agents of the crown, if an attack or counter attack was not being planned to avenge or save both her people from attack, the woman was remodeling her store.

Over time, peace had seemed to fall upon the village and in time she took both a mate, finally acknowledge the pack that had formed over the years as hers, and even gave birth to a child, unfortunately that peace did not last, humanity washed away from the gypsy in the betrayal from one that had been close to her heart and the blood shed that had claimed not only those who were under her protection, the life of her infant son.

For years after chaos reigned in the village of Darkmoor those who took the forms of beast warred against the church and controlled the forests that surrounded, their leader, the once diplomatic shop keeper was rarely seen in her human form but for the nights the moon fled the skies same as the night a part of her soul died. She no longer led, no longer lived but for the death of one particular priest that had hunted her since her return, who had stolen so much away, until finally there was one final battle. The priest was dead, and had she been human even then, she should had laid there and been dying, but she laid there as her consciousness wavered and felt her body slowly reknitting and healing itself. With the crunch of step upon charred wood and blood stained grass a familiar face came into sight, to take in the scene and find out its outcome in person.

She was not dying, nor was her life anywhere near its end as she asked for death, for the chance to finally know peace, and allow the battles to stop. With both leaders dead, the town could fade back to the days of old were there had been the days of peace, and with a touch her will was done.

Years ago, she had entrusted her soul to the demon, not certain she deserved the worlds of the afterlife, and for centuries she was in a dormant state close t o slumber unless called upon by the demon she entrusted herself to, her animal form infernal in design but she was not a demon, but a bonded spirit released upon the world of the living from time to time in the company of the demon, or left to wander until collected.

*Skills:
Incorporeal Form: Her natural state and the easiest to transform into no matter where she is, this state is so familiar that Reva has advance control of this easily making all or part of herself incorporeal, a part of her chest to avoid a blade she sees coming or to reach through a body or solid object, and turn the part of her limb on the other side of side corporeal again. In this state she cannot hurt a living creature, or become fully corporeal, remaining incorporeal in the area of and surrounding that of a foreign object. Clothing does not become Incorporeal, as a ghost she is but a faint outline save her face and hands unless willed otherwise.

While she has the most control of this form, this is her natural state going from, and changing from it to corpreal is the most taxing, while it does not make her feel tired in her current ability she can only turn fully incorporeal from her corporeal state and back, perhaps once in a days' cycle. Turning a part of her form intangible and back has the same general restrictions although it has be done a second time under extreme duress, hours after the first, and it is more likely to back fire and leave her in her incorporeal state for an entire day from the point.

She can either go fully incorporeal and back once a day, or partially incorporeal once a day, try a second time, hours later that may work or leave her fully incorporeal for a day.

Corporeal Form: While in the land of living or at least in the present of a living creature, this is her ‘default’ state while she cannot die from it, her body and mind craves food and drink like any other person, she can feel the entire human spectrum of emotions, pleasure, pain, and bleed. In essence she is human, and if she can ‘die’, it is proof she has a ‘life’, she is still but a spirit and unaided cannot produce new life, (As in have children), and would lose the access of her incorporeal form until birth or death upon either part. If she were to die and not revived her corporeal form fades to incorporeal and returns to the demon in a suspended state close to a deep sleep for month dependent on the damage received and the amount of time it takes to repair her corporeal form.

Demonic Familiar: This is probably the hardest full transformation for Reva in the land of living, while in the present of unearthly beings it is easier to draw out, it comes most simply within the proximity with her demon, otherwise it takes a great deal of concentration or agitated emotional state. Once in the full state, Reva cannot speak but the demon as it is a speaking to souls not a matter of telepathy or him understanding her in that state; while she cannot speak she retains her human intelligence. Reverting is easier although if not bothered or rushed she may remain in that state for hours or days wallowing in the sense of nostalgia. This transformation does destroy her clothing if not previously removed.

As a demon she is a giant wolf black in color, a form that was one of hers in life, yet a demons' familiar the wolf has small horns that sprout from her forehead, the bracelets she wears as a specter or woman turn into earrings and, and she stands as large as a Shire Horse, nearly 18 hands in height, her shoulders as high as a mans head.

This form can happen once in a days' cycle on her own, no more at her current abilities.

Fortune Telling: Reva never denies her gypsy heritage, and while she will comment that she’s not the most powerful, she was not the leader of her clan for no reason her readings when she takes the time and effort to make them are very insightful, and while they do not always yield the answer to the questions spoken aloud, the provide answers and insight to the questions more dire to a person. She is knowledgeable in a wide variety of methods to tell the fortunes of herself and others, from cards and tea leaves, to palm and pendulum reading, preferring her cards for guidance, and pendulum for direction if a scent is too faded to follow these aren’t skills she mentions often, and will often refuse to do a reading on the basis of not appreciating being a novelty.
Card Reading:Average
Pendulum: Average
Tea leaves: Below Average
Palm Reading: Below Average

Dog Speak: She can understand dogs and the sort while in human form but can only communicate as a person as barking and growling is a bit ridiculous, not to say she hasn't or doesn't do it, just that she realize its not proper, she can understand and speak in her demonic form, but loses her human speech in exchange.
Tracking: Below Average
Dagger Training: Average
Glaive Training: Below Average

*Equipment: 7ft steel bladed glaive, (2) steel daggers one at her right hip, the other in her left boot, deck of playing cards, tarot cards, bear tooth upon a leather cord (her necklace/pendulum).

Welcome to Althanas, I'll be looking over this profile for you so that you can get on your way and off to roleplaying. Just a few things to cover before then though:

~Can you please make it so that your 'incorporeal' form ability can't be used too often in battle, say once or twice at most with a small "cool down" period between uses, since it IS a very substantial ability to have. Can't have you just making arms and body parts disappearing every time you have a weapon used against you, lol.

~I'm a bit confused as to what, exactly, the "Demon Familiar" is. Can you turn into a demon? And if so what are the specs of that form? It is the note that you made under appearance, the giant black wolf with horns? If not, I need clarification on that little aspect as well.

~If you could put average and below average to the skills you have listed under Fortunte telling as well: Tracking, Dagger, and Glaive.

Thanks for the welcome Task

I've done the changes, and rearranged things so that they help clarify the Demonic Familiar state I hope, and added the skill levels to the skills. Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope it all helps.

Awesome! No inconvenience at all! Thanks for clarifying it, that looks fine. Just remember not to overdo the wolf form, because I don't want to see it powergamed. Lol. Other than that, you are hereby:

APPROVED!

Go cause some chaos! muahahaha
