I loved the second note he wrote. So much conflict in so little space, so many questions...gah! And the frustrating thing is, I know the chances of us finding out why he hates his mother over the course of the battle are approximately 0. OH, THE SUSPENSE! MY GREATEST WEAKNESS! Grr.
Also liked the attention to detail--Sy's habit of carrying birdseed and such--and how you played off of Kryos with the entry into the portal.
