After a regrettably prolonged delay, the Althanas staff is happy to announce that Chapter 3 (http://www.althanas.com/world/forumdisplay.php?f=193) of Althanas' Featured Quest is underway! Mission prompts for Salvar (http://www.althanas.com/world/forumdisplay.php?f=249) have already been posted for players to utilize as they see fit, with mission prompts for Raiaera (http://www.althanas.com/world/forumdisplay.php?f=250), detailed chapter summaries, and Chapter 2's FQ Rewards soon to come.
The state of Salvar and Raiaera at the start of the Chapter are as follows:
"After a brutal winter that left countless dead from starvation and exposure, a cruel mockery of peace stretched over the war-ravaged kingdom of Salvar. With their resources stretched thin during the harsh season, the clash and clamor of the civil war died down to a dim, but constant hum. While spring brought life back to Salvar, it also rekindled the fires of war between the Church and the Monarchy, who had both merely been spending the winter marshaling their forces and preparing their stratagems."
"The land of Raiaera stands on the brink of total annihilation. Eluriand has fallen to ruin, and only Istien still stands there. Tembrethnil Forest has been decimated, Anebrilith is slowly collapsing under the weight of desperation, and the armies of the Carrion Lord, Xem'zund, are poised to deliver the killing blow on almost every front. With nothing left to lose, the Lady General, Nalith Celiniel, prepares her people for an all out strike. Even as the two sides dig their heels in for absolute war, a third force is about to enter the frey. Dark times and strange aeons lie ahead, and only by sword and sorcery will anyone survive..."
I encourage all players - regardless of whether you've participated in the FQ before or not - to get involved, and help Chapter 3 become the most interesting and most active Chapter of all. Whether you're evil, good, indifferent, or just looking to profit from the war - there is something for everyone in the Featured Quest, and your involvement in shaping the greater conflict is limited only by your imagination.
