Personality: Jasker is easy going, carefree, and an all around fun guy. Jasker doesn't let the fact that he's shorter than most people hinder him. He's confident, sure of himself, and would flirt with a woman twice his size if he felt so inclined. He has an infectious personality that spreads through a room like wildfire once he gets going.
Outside of taverns and parties, Jasker's a prankster. He loves to pull coin purses off of unsuspecting marks only to return the bag back to them with a simple, "I think you dropped this.", without them ever realizing what had happened. It's his way of keeping his skills sharp.
At night and sometimes during the day, Jasker works as a thief-for-hire, selling his skills to the highest bidder. Motives and morals don't concern him, only gold does. After receiving word from the local innkeeper, (Jasker has set up a network all over Althanas since he tends to travel, and whenever an innkeeper receives word but Jasker has already moved to the next town/city, that innkeeper just forwards the notice to his last known location. And so on until Jasker gets it.) which is usually in a nondescript brown package paper, Jasker finds a nice quiet and secure location where he can read the assignment and the location where the employer will be waiting and, if he isn't already working on one, will head to said location to notify the employer whether or not he accepts. Although he almost always accepts, and there have been only a few very rare instances where he hasn't.
Appearance: When first looking upon Jasker one would immediately take notice of his size, but after minutes of looking into his deep brown eyes and listening to what he has to say with a small wry grin, they would slowly forget that fact and begin to see him as a person. He keeps his hair nice and tidy but still retains an acceptable length. He keeps his face cleanshaven and smooth, and most of all, he keeps his clothes in good repair.
Due to the nature of his work, he likes to keep everything loosefitting and soft. Very little of his clothes have any metal buckles, and any buckles they might have are made of wood instead of metal. He can't afford to be caught due to a wardrobe malfunction, and so far he hasn't been.
Underneath his flowing cloth cloak (which has leather covering his shoulderblades and consists of a deep dark blue), he has a sturdy leather tunic. The right arm has a short sleeve while his left has a full sleeve to help against pesky locks on doors with windows that Jasker failed to pick. After that he has his leather belt (with wooden buckle, of course) which not only hold up his tough light leather pants, but also holds up his weapons and tool pouch. Lastly are his leather boots and gloves. Both are very sturdy and have served him well.
History: Jasker was born in Scara Brae. He led a very quiet and unassuming life during his childhood. After all, he was the son of a carpenter, and it was expected of him to become the same. For many years he tried to adhere to that standard, to become the heir of his father's legacy and craft, but somewhere deep down inside himself, he longed for more. So, when he came of age, he fled from that life forever in order to start a new one. He was picked up by a thieving guild not long after, just outside of Radasanth, and was taught their trade. He discovered that he had a knack for such things, and he knew he had found his calling. After a falling out with his guild, he began to work independently throughout Althanas and has been doing it ever since.
But sometimes, when work is slow and the coin is light, he can be seen sitting in a corner in the nearest tavern, widdling away at a piece of wood, swimming in memories of a past life.
Skills:
Swordsmanship: (Below Average) Jasker isn't the fighting type, but he at least understands the necessity to defend oneself. He is by no means a master swordsman that can take on multiple opponents at once, but against a single foe of his same skill, he can hold his own for a while.
Sleight of Hand: (Above Average) Jasker has been a thief for most of his life, and with time comes experience. Although he still has much to learn about the thieving arts, one thing he's always been good at is pickpocketing. Jasker can lift just about anything from just about anybody. Unless the mark is actively keeping his eyes on his pockets or is very experienced, Jasker has their gold in his grasp in no time. (Cannot pickpocket from PCs without their consent; when given, works on any opponent two levels higher and down.)
Stick to the Shadows!: (Above Average) Jasker, being a halfling, is inherently skilled at navigating through darkness both swiftly and silently. If someone comes within five yards of him with an open light source, he's easy to detect. (Cannot be used in broad daylight.)
Lockpicking: (Average) A necessity of a thief is to know the inner workings of locks and to disarm them when the time comes. Jasker is relatively new to this aspect of the thieving arts, but has been picking up on it rather quickly. When confronted with a normal run-of-the-mill lock, it doesn't take him more than five minutes to pick it. But give him the task of picking a higher-end lock and maybe with time and patience, he could be successful.
Who Is That Dashing Fellow?: Jasker has a way with people. He knows how to talk to them and even persuade them into doing things he wants. His personality attracts people like moths to a flame (especially women). When he talks, generally people will listen. (Acts as a charm or aura around other people. Does not work against higher level opponents. They will only [depending on their personality] see him as quirky, a goof, or an extreme annoyance.)

Speedsteel: A steel rapier custom-made to fit Jasker's size and frenetic fighting style. Due to the thiness and size of the blade, the steel has been tempered and strengthened to withstand combat with a larger and stronger opponent that also wields a steel blade. The blade is stronger than the average steel, but not quite strong enough to be upgraded to the next metal tier.
The Bloodletter: This longdagger was a gift from an employer after Jasker had exceeded the man's standards of a job well done. The blade is made of an average steel. One side has an extremely sharp edge while the other side is serrated with sharp points that run up most of the length of the blade and become progressively smaller as they reach the tip. Jasker mostly uses this weapon when sneaking up on an opponent or occasionally in his left hand when wielding Speedsteel in his right.
