Um, well hi.
Obviously my username reads Aphira Ronameki, but my real name is Sam. ^.^

Some randomly unimportant facts abot me....
I'm easily amused. That's an understatement.
I'm a little slow at jokes. Also an understatement... xD
My favorite books are the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind.
-- The Legend of the Seeker is the TV series based off of it, and it's my favorite too! ^.^
I'm a junior in high school, and I plan on going to college to get my teaching degree in math.
I'm in my highschool's Show Choir, as a Soprano II, and I love it. ♥
Um... I can't really think of anything else...

Welcome to the site Sam, nice to see some new blood come on in. If you have any questions about the features of the site, I'm your go to guy. If you have any questions about the history or story on the site, Taskmeinster is your go to guy. If you need help with any of the myriad of things happening on the site, any mod or admin can help you, or at least tell you were to get that help.

Most importantly, have fun.

Indeed, welcome! I recently joined myself.

Terry Goodkind is a great author, and I love the Sword of Truth series. So kudos on that. I think you'll enjoy it here, I certainly have been and I just registered last week.

Welcome Sam, from someone not much less new than yourself. Loved the quote in your signature, though I'm not a big fan of Pascal myself.

Oh wow... I need faster internet... o.o

Lol, thanks shinigami, I'll be sure to stay causious around confections. xD

I love how everyone refers to early members of anything as 'fresh meat' or 'new blood'... xD
But awesome-ness, if I have any questions, I'll remember to ask you! ^.^ (Bushido)
Lol, Taskmienster was the person that approved my character... ^^

Ohmigosh, Skelly, he so frikkin' is! I just finished the series last year, a friend of mine started me on the books that summer. And then the fabulously awesome TV show came out and I was so totally psyched. Have seen any of it, by the way? I know there's some people who don't like it, because of the differences, but I think it works beautifully, because even though I know how the basic line of events have to take place, I still donn't really know how the episodes are going to go down. But it did make me sad that they haven't reached the mud people yet... I was looking forward to that part....

Oh! Thatnks! I wouldn't say i'm a fan, but I do love that quote. I got it from some research for an extra credit paper in Pre-Cal... I like random quotes from strange dead guys, so yeah... xD I thought it was funny how he did so much to impact the progress of math (I guess that's what you'd call it... o.o) yet all of the quotes I found had something to do with philosophy. I mean, I know he had that whole uber religion thinking spree after his accident, but you'd think someone would have recorded something he said that was math-ish... I dunno... o.O

Anyway, thanks all for the welcome! ^^

I have, actually. I've seen it all the way up to episode 11. Personally, I think it kicks ass! Sure it might feel a little weird at times, but hey. There aren't many good shows that take place in a medieval fantasy world, which is why I was attracted to the Legend of the Seeker.

In any case, have fun role playing here.

Yeah it's the uber-religious thing that worries me about him. Well, I'm biased as an atheist but still...o_OActually, I think he preffered religion to math. Go figure. He was ridiculously smart though, and clearly he did come up with a bunch of nifty stuff (to say the least!) ^^

Although Pascal's Wager always amuses me. I can just picture Pascal getting up to heaven and meeting God. And God' carrying a big stick and shaking it menacingly and saying "Oh yeah? I'll show you what we think of Mr. Clever Dick around here...!"

Which is a joke I ripped off from Terry Pratchett, in all honesty.

I hope you'll stick around. You seem like a damn fine writer, and I'm interested in seeing what you can do.

I personally found Terry Goodkind's "Wizard's First Rule" rather dull, his writing style failing to capture my interest, so much so that I never finished the book. Then again, I try to read this after I read "The Song of Ice and Fire" series from George Martin, and he's fucking awesome. But as always, to each their own.

Welcome to Althanas, Aphira. Redheads are always welcome here.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you showed up here, Letho. You can smell Redhead in the air from a mile away.

Hi there and welcome to Althanas!

Please keep your arms and legs inside the forum at all times or they may be removed by rabid, zombified characters. Do not feed the following people: Christoph, Letho, Serilliant, BlackAndBlueEyes, Tainted Bushido, Taskmienster, Arsene and Inkfinger for they may become dependent on you afterwards and are hard to get rid of. Any screams you may now be experiencing are the sounds of dying characters. Do not be alarmed, for they shall be revived in new and inventive ways the following thread. Have a nice day. ^^

Grittings and welcome!

And yes, don't feed me. I'm especially hard to get rid of. I'll latch onto you like we were BFFs or something, and talk your ear off about why the 8- and 16-bit game generations were the best and how the focus of "wikkid sweet grafix0rz" over actual gameplay is killing the industry and my theory that the deluge of shooters and Wii shovelware will eventually cause another video game crash much like E.T. did on the Atari 2600 and how there will never be such a thing as an X-Box 360 that will never red ring and how the final nail in the PS3's coffin was Square Enix saying that Dragon Quest 9 and 10 were Nintendo exclusives (DS and Wii respectively) and speaking of Square Enix how Final Fantasy 6 will forever be better than 7 because Kefka became a god and blew up the world while all Sephiroth (who is a bitch, not a bish) did was kill a flower girl from behind like a coward and have a mediocre theme song and how blah blah blah blah...

Yeah, I'm a social metroid.

Or rape you over AIM.

Although I think her e-libido has subsided somewhat lately... I haven't had to break out the black nondescript van and handcuffs in a while now.

Terry Goodkind is a great author. I agree with Letho, to each their own however, and Jim Butcher has actually caught my interest more so than Terry. My favorite of his series was actually the least violent one: Faith of the Fallen. Nicci owns.
But, having read the entire series, and watched a couple episodes of the show they based it off, I must say this.
Legend of the Seeker sucks chimpanzee penis.
'Nuff said on that.

In other words, welcome to Althanas. Like Arsene' pointed out, you look to be a good budding writer and I hope to write with you someday. Hope ya stick around.

Now bend over and take it like a man. Its business time.

Faith of the Fallen is actually one of the two that I own. (I also own Debt of Bones). I think that out of all of them, The Pillars of Creation is my favorite, Nicci definately rules, though, she's one of my favorites. ^.^ Addie and Zedd will always be my top two, however.

But as for the site, I'm actually a little intimidated... o.O'
I've really only roleplayed with close friends, and I don't remember ever finishing one... xD
*is mildly nervous when thinking about that*
