Max had been looking for a place to change his equipment up a little.

"The Bazaar eh?" Max said as he stood out front of the main door. "Let's see what they can do for me"

Max casually sauntered in through the door looking around at the variable stuff on racks or hung from the wall, some with dust on the top's of them, and other's just covered in dust.

as he walked up to the shopkeep, he un-did his sword hilt's and placed them on the counter, as well a gem (two of the three sword's i got here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=3144) The gem is also there as well) and also a iron great sword he placed on the counter (obtained here (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=3242))

the shopkeep would of had to been maybe 6 feet even he was a rather portly man, with a gruff look on his face, his beard (or lack of) was maybe only a few inches thick. and his hand's and finger's were rather chubby and thick.

"Well, i think i would like to sell the two bad quality sword's and increase the Quality of this one steel longsword, maybe a better material if you can." Max said scratching the back of his head as he picked up his Sword to show which one."and can you tell me what this gem does?"

max said hoping he would know.

The elder man walked up, before a short, stubby elbow smashed him in the gut causing him to fall to the side in a chair as a small woman approached the counter looking at the blades.

"Eww, you weren't kidding, this quality is crap." She looked back to the warrior before her and sighed deeply. "I hate this, melting materials and what not, but I think this is maybe for the best..." She grabbed the materials and threw them at the taller surly man. He fell backwards on the seat, his mind blanking as he slammed into the ground. "OI, MATTHEWS! GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND DO YOUR FLIPPING JOB!"

She turned back to the boy, grabbing the gem. "As for this..." She eyed the gem and did a quick check on it, and after what felt like years she tossed it to the boy.

"I'm not too sure."

((As a smithy, I won't know any magical properties. I suggest you use this as a chance to develop your character. If you really, really want to just pay to figure it out, I can work that into this thread))

Max sighed as he scratched the back of his head after he had caught the gem.

"well if you don't know what this gem does, i can't really ask you to try and smelt it in with my blade, cause it could deter the sword's hardness and make it weaker, but umm" Max said as he put the gem back in his traveling pouch. and undid his cloak.

"Can you add some weight to this on the shoulders? maybe 25 pounds each?" Max said scratching his head as he tried to guess what material his sword was going to come back as, hopefully it was lighter, and stronger. with a better slicing edge. but he wasn't too picky as long as it was better then when it went in there.

Looking at her materials and the cloak she pondered over her head what to do. After a moment she decided upon her plan of action.

"I can smelt these crappy materials, and use them to increase the weight. But by what I heard you explain you look like you want to add fifty pounds to the shoulders...are you really sure?" She gave a once over look at the man before her and frowned. "You look like a wimp in all honesty..." She looked to the materials. "The smelt will cover about 25 pounds." She looked back to the great sword. "I can upgrade the blade to a new tier, but it will take sometime, and be costly." She gave the sword a look, and gave a quick quote when she made up her mind.

"It'll be a minimum, 100 gold coins, and I haven't really equated labor and materials."

Max smiled "fifty on the shoulder's will do. i want a challenge after all, plus i want all items gone except for one Longsword, upgraded to a different tier. and weight added to the cloak, that's it that's all"

Max looked around the room, feeling a little lighter without his cape or swords equipped to him.

After the work had been done as promised, the woman returned with the items in hand. First she aired the cloak out and handed it to him, weight first so he could get a good test for it.

"If it's to heavy, I can alwyas lighten the load. What I did here is this..." She thumbed the edging a bit to reveal a brass zipper. "There are five metal square plates in there that each weigh five pounds. With both shoulders that's the fifty pounds you wanted." She smiled grabbing the sword. "As for this beauty you will like the new weight distribution, Little heavier around the hilt, but the blade itself is now more balanced. On top of all that the guard was increased to prevent from slipping."

She bowed lowly under the desk grabbing a piece of paper and ink. "Okay so labor plus materials, minus the smelting and the total for everything comes out to....275 cold coins." She smiled handing him a copy of her math.

Max grabbed hold of the cloak and felt the weight. It was heavy, quite heavy but he smiles all the same and threw it on getting a feel for what it would be like on his shoulders.

"It feel's great, this will do wonders" Max said as he took it off and laid it back on the Counter, and then grabbed the sword from her hands slowly, and spun it around. Feeling the little bit of weight she said would of increased, and how smoothly it spun and sliced through the air. "Is this still steel? i had no idea steel could be like this, anyway's i can take the price i find it a little much but i can deal with it."

Max reached into his pouch and took out the 275 gold coins. and laid them all in a neat pile on the counter. "so would you happen to know anyone that could help me with my gem? if its just a useless Gem i will sell it, otherwise i want to use it fully"

"I may not know of anyone, but I'd try searching deeper in the bazaar around the night time when the older hags come out. One of them may be able to spirit read the gem and get you the answers you seek." she said taking the money. "Be careful however, thieves and pick pockets are the least of your worries in the dark of the bazaar." She said darkly before laughing counting the coins. "Thank you for you patronage!" She smiled waving goobye to the boy.

"Happy hunting!" the smithy behind her added.

Max smiled as he made sure the zippers on his cloak were done up right and re sheathed his new sword.

as he walked outside he stopped and turned around knodding to the lady who had just served him as he took off running up the street of the bazarr towards the citadel

(( Feel free to post in this thread the second half of your bazaar journey if you want me to read the gem for you.))

Max reentered the Bazaar late at night, there was a lot more activity around here then there was during the day. but he entered one shack of a place that looked like it would be run from someone old and maybe senial.

"Hello, i was wondering if you could help me out with this?" Max said as he took out his gem as it glowed a faint green in the darkness of the room.

The old hag laughed at the boy in her presence. His meager look, his large shoulder pauldrons making him seem oddly proportioned. With a quick flick she grabbed her cane, and the gem flew to her as if it had tiny wings. She grabbed the gem and smiled.

"If it flies to me, it has a magical property...for a fee I can tell you what this does. But it's not just a normal fee, young lad. It will cost you gold, and one eye from a toad. As well as a deep secret you must reveal to the fires." The hag laughed. "It just so happens I have the toad eye, so all I need is that secret. If your secret is proving to be faulty, or not worth the fires time, the ritual will fail. If you are ready we can proceed. It will cost you eighty coins for this. Are you prepared?

Max smiled when he found out this old hag knew something about the gem.

"A secret ehh? that should be relativly easy. as for the coins" Max said as he reached into his coin purse and pulled out eighty coins "i got it"

Max then approached the flames and said "i once had a crush on every female i met in my bandit clan and one male"

The woman starred into the eyes of the boy long and hard.

"Thats distrubing...really disturbing...ah well...The gem." She looked at the gem and then tossed it into the fire, a huge green explosion lifted into the air and she cackled madly at the sight. "This gem, its properties are able to communicate with you. Should you place it within an object it can transfer abilities to you in the way of mental telepathy. Hit enough times, and given enough of an opening to observe, and the blade can actually tell you secrets of the enemy just as you told to the gem. But be warned, these powers, while great, will take time to learn and focus. Take the gem and be gone."

With that Max grabbed the gem and left the opening in the front of the run down shack.

"I thank you very much" Max said as he slipped the gem back into its holding place as he wandered the streets of Radasanth aimlessly

With the money collected the hag went back to her peaceful fire, laughing at the secret, calling the boy all kinds of derogatory names.

(275+80=355GP and in return you gained the items and the knowledge of your gem.))
