Rinna looked about the large swamp, sniffing.
She smelled a demon somewhere nearby, she just couldn't quite put her finger on where... After a moment, she quickly caught a large whiff of the demons odor on the wind.

Gotcha, she thought with a smirk as she bolted for it.
Minutes later, she found the source; a giant, tree-like demon. It was large and gnarled, with an angry expression hollowed into its trunk to apparently look like a face. The demon gave a loud, ear piercing screech as it smashed several trees in the murky swamp with its twisted, movable branches.
Hm, Rinna thought, readying her sword, It looks as though it used to be a tree... Perhaps an angry spirit possessed it.

"Hey, demon!" she shouted, nabbing its attention, "You ready to die?"

The thing screeched again and attempted to head toward her, though she quickly snatched her sword up as she bolted at it.

She swung once, twice.... The tree demon gave a final shrill noise, then split into three pieces and fell dead to the ground.

"I warned you." Rinna muttered, cleaning the green goo that was the trees blood from her sword.

The air around this swamp was murky and smelled of nauseating and rank odors.
But even this would not turn Dante's nose away.
For he was searching for something in this swamp, something to help boost his power. An ancient relic for summoners.

Dante was no ordinary summoner, and he was trying to become the most powerful one alive.
Even more powerful then his past idol..Irene Enykra. And that certain relic would definitely grant his wish.

The ground was wet and moist, and Dante hated it with a burning passion. But he had to get this relic, and if that meant suffrering through this muck, then so be it. Squish, he took another step.

"This land is tainted with the stench of demons, so many I'm suprised no one has done anything." Dante looked left, then right.

In the far distance he heard a faint voice and then a painful screech.

He tried to locate the sound, but it faded before he could pick up the exact location.
He pondered every direction, then decided to head west. As he got closer, he felt another demons presence.

Dante immediatley drew Jafayette, his fathers trusty sword.
"Demon, show yourself." He took cover behind a huge tree, large enough to hide him for now.

--------------------------------

Rinna, hearing a threatening yell, froze on the spot. At the moment she was an easy target; her weapon was lowered, her guard down, and she had nothing to take cover behind as the tree demon had destroyed all its surrounding trees.

Perhaps she could use her charm to get out of this mess...

"Excuse me?" She sniffed the air to see if she could pick up her hidden assailants odor, and got quite a shock as she realized he wreaked of demon as well.

Hmmm.... She thought with a slight grin, Two demons for the price of one, eh? My lucky day...

Giving the blade of her extremely large sword a flick, she spattered the rest of the green slime from it, then she slowly brought it to an inconspicuous position that she could strike from at any moment.

"Why would you call me a demon, stranger?" She called out, looking around to seem as though she were completely clueless. "I am a mere human. Please, show yourself to me. I have been without human company in days, and I would be most grateful to be awarded with your presence..."

Show yourself, you damned thing...

Dante got an answer to his question alight. The woman had replied that she is a human but he could smell the demon aura on her. He then smirked and walked from behind the tree he was hiding behind. Rinna then raised her eyebrows as Dante walked from behind the tree. "Why would you call me a demon sir? For I am no demon, I am but a young woman trying to purge this world of demons." She spoke with a soft tone of voice.

Dante gripped Jafayette tighter and raised it os the blade rests on his shoulder, facing Rinna. "You ask why I call you demon? Well for one, your smell is different then the demons in this swamp, secondly, I could smell you for miles away. But you are not why I came here. I am here looking for an Eldunari." He sighs as he notices she looks confused and lost. "An Eldunari will enhance my magical abilities to put it simple." Rinna lets out a breath of air and smiles "Oh and you know it is in this forest how?" Dante grinds his teeth and gives a fake smile "Cause my friend told me." And with that, his anger peaking he shifts Jafayette from his shoulder to pointing at Rinna. Her eyes close and she smiles. "What is wrong with you? Are you mad man?" Rinna says as she eyes Dante. He frowns and looks around smelling the air. He wrinkles his nose but pays no heed to it since his main priority is to find that eldunari. but this person is in his way and one way or another he will get past her.

Rinna gripped her sword tight as Dante made a dash towards the nearest tree swinging around a small branch and then letting go comming right at her. Jafayette in his hands ready to defend if he somehow miss, which is rarely. His hair rustling in the wind, his boots aiming right at her face. Rinna sees this as an oppoertunity to step back a couple steps and readies her sword to meet his neck. He hits the ground with a loud thud. as he landed he lost grip on Jafayette and dropped it in the mud, causing it to sink. That was the least of his worries, next thing he knows is that Rinna brought her sword to his neck. "Demon, are you ready to die?" She says with a cocky tone of voice. Dante, smiles and closes his eyes and places his hands flat on the mud as a strange circle appears on the ground, then a strange black smoke vents out of that hole. Rinna steps back a couple, shoes covered in the mud as a pair of crimson red eyes peer right at her through the smoke. Next thing she sees is a black dash as the creature dashes and takes her sword, evening the odds for Dante.

Rinna glared at the man. "What was that?"
She looked about, but saw no hint of her sword. She growled lowly, then flexed her claws. "bring it, demon. But don't say i didn't give you a fair warning..."

She watched him take a step forward, then lept up at him. He dodged to the right at the last possible moment, causing Rinna to slam her claws into the muck and pull away with a handful of mud.
She flicked her wrist slightly, causing the slop to fling in every which direction.

Rinna growled lowly. "You're quick..."

"That was my summon, Narda." Dante smiles and eyes her up and down. "And as for being quick? I am faster on a plain field. With grass and the works."

He suddenly lept onto a tree branch and, holding his right hand to the sky, created a small glowing fireball. "Well well well, what to do with this now?"

Rinna flashed a gloating smirk. "You think you can harm me with a mere fireball? Well, fine. Do your worst."

Dante smiled wider and laughed loudly. "Who says this is for you? Hell, I could probably burn this whole forest right now if i wanted."

Rinna looked at him as if he were daft. "First of all, it's a SWAMP, genius. And second, considering the place is more humid than a sauna, that would be a bit hard."

"Well then, smart ass, why not come prove it to me? Come on, show me your inner demon." Dante cocked his arm back and forced the fireball into the tree he was standing on, causing a heavy black scorch mark on the trunk, though it didn't set the tree alight.

Rinna's eyes burned with hatred as she attacked him again, her claws flexed wide and a bloodlust in her gaze. Simply the cocky expression on his face made her want to tear his throat out. She would NOT have this mere half demon out do her....

Dante realized he had angered the hunter, for he stepped back. He jumped down from the branch and caught it in both hands as he fell, spinning around like a top three times in a row, then let go and landed hard on both feet. Mud splattered everywhere, especially all over him.

With cat-like reflexes, Rinna lept at him, swinging her arm down swiftly at him. He went to move, but she was quicker; she sliced straight down his shoulder.

Dante grit his teeth in pain, stumbling back. "Little wench."

He kneeled quickly and slammed yet another fireball into the ground, creating a large hole in the muck. Rinna, only too late, realized it was to bring forth his summon.
Narda lept from the hole, straight at her, fangs clear as the white clouds in the sky.

Rinna barely dodged the beast, though it spun before she could react and bit sharply into her leg. She cried out more in surprise than pain, then reflexively slashed her claws at it, creating four long slices down its back.

Narda yelped and released Rinna's leg, sliding from the force of the impact into a tree. Dante grew infuriated and created a large ball of fire in both hands, though he grew distracted as he heard chanting in the distance.

Rinna, however, ignored the sound and lept at Dante again.

He swiftly turned and side stepped her, grapping her arm and throwing her quickly face first into the mud and pinning her down.

"Can we stop this meaningless bicker now? I feel a strange presence..." He looked north, toward the source of the chanting.

Rinna struggled violently. "I could care less. I need you dead...." She snarled, unable to shake him off.

"I am willing to call a truce if you are." He loosened his grip slightly, though not enough to allow her freedom.

Rinna huffed. There was no way she would ever truce with a demon.
Suddenly, though, a thought crossed her mind. Perhaps if she accepted, this could work in her favor. She could get him to lower his guard, then take him out before he even knew what hit him...

".... FIne." she stopped struggling, looking up at him.

"Thank you." He let her go, causing her to fall with a sickening squish into the slimy mud. "Now why do you want me dead? For all we know, now we could be after the same thing really. Who knows?"
Dante kneeled, feeling about the dense, murky, knee deep sludge for his sword.

She scowled, standing hastily. Rinna wiped a clump of... something off her cheek with a grimace. "If we are after the same thing, it would be all the more reason to eliminate you."
She hesitantly got to her knees and felt for her sword as well.

Well, I want-" He trailed off as his hand passed over something that caused a sharp sting across his palm. He grabbed hold of it, hefting it up.
The thing was heavy as hell...

Rinna looked at him trailed off, realizing he had pulled a huge golden sword up.
"Thats mine!" she said happily as she jumped up, snatching it from him.

"You're welcome..." He muttered sarcastically, suddenly noticing a slight glimmer in the murky waters a few paces to his right. He stood and walked to it. Sure enough, he smiled as he gently lifted it, it was his Jafayette.

Rinna wiped algae and something grey and slimy from the flat of her blade with her bare hand. "Yuck. I need to wash this poor thing..."

"Don't feel bad," Dante smiled, trying to make conversation. "If my dad saw this blade, He would kill me."

Rinna honestly could care less about what this pathetic half-demon had to say, but for the sake of her plan, she had to act at least a little friendly. "And why is that?"

"This was his sword..." he looked down, a plethora of past memories rushing back to him as if they had just happened yesterday.

Rinna turned her back to him, ignoring just about every word he had uttered. She looked up to the swamp canopy, for the sky wasn't visible though the thick vegitation. "That chanting... Where is it coming from?"

Dante looked at her. "I know just as well as you do. Shall we go check it out?"

"It doesn't sound pleasant, whatever it is. And if it is summoning a demon, i need to be there. So lets go..." She slowly slid her heavy sword into its leather sheath on her back.

"All right." He stood, brushing himself off.. Suddenly realizing the two hadn't been properly introduced, he cleared his throat. "By the way, I'm Dante Foreheart at your service."

She cast him an absent glance, then muttered coldly, "Rinna."

Dante huffed. He was trying to be friendly, so why couldn't she do the same? "Why are you so... cold and lonely? Would it kill you to open up just a little bit?"

Rinna looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Perhaps because we just met. and besides, i don't get attached to my prey."

Dante blinked, her statement catching him off guard. "Well what made me prey anyway?"

"i wonder..." She growled, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Is it that I am a half demon?" He asked, walking alongside her.

"wow, genius, you sure catch on fast..." She rolled her eyes, slumping slightly as they walked.

"Don't be a smart ass." He glared at her. Why was she being such a bitch to him?

"Then don't be a dumbass." She snapped, looking at him angrily, then sped up her pace.

Dante stayed slightly behind, for his own safety. "Hey, Calm down okay? Can we forget about our fight and say it never happened?"

"Do what you like. It wont change a thing." She answered cooly.

Soon, she stopped completely. The chanting sounded extremely close, as if they were right next to it... Rinna ducked into a large, lush shrub and peered through the branches. Bingo. She saw a large group of people, probably about twelve or thirteen at first glance, clad in white robes, all with their hood pulled over their faces. They stood in a perfect circle around a stone statue of a giant bird, but the thing that bothered Rinna was that they were all murmuring some other language she didn't know.

Well, it's not a demon summoning, that's for sure... She thought with a hint of confusion. Otherwise they would be chanting in a demonic language.
So what was it then? She was genuinely curious now.

"Hey, idiot..." She whispered loudly, gesturing Dante over. "I found our noise..."
