"Alydia, I have heard a fair number of your plans that make absolutely no sense, but this one?" Alydia Ettermire's Scarabrian information gatherer set a cup of tea down on the rough-hewn wooden table in front of the red-coated Alerian thief. He couldn't see her face at all for the brim of her fedora, couldn't tell if she had that devil may care grin or a more somber expression. It had been a long time since he'd had to provide Aly with information to run a caper, but he was quickly remembering why Bron Retla, his Alerian counterpart, oft complained about how much trouble she was.

Alydia was studying a blueprint of a minor noble's home, calmly memorizing its layout. Her elbows rested on the tabletop and her hands supported her chin. The items she meant to steal would be scattered throughout the main house, and with servants and guards...it wasn't even anything valuable she was after. Why bother?

"Yes, Lore. This plan. It's zany, it'll mean a chase, and it's just going to be fun. I want some fun for a change. Getting little Stell-stell back for Vim was necessary, but very stressful."

She'd come to Scara Brae mere days before at the behest of one of her men, Vim Brawn, whose daughter had been kidnapped. Lore's scouts hadn't heard anything about the location of the children, but Alydia's detective training had meant the difference between life and death not only for Estelle, but for thirteen other young children.

"I know you need to go have fun. But, really...why -" Lore raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. There was absolutely no reasoning with her when she got these ideas in her head.

Aly grinned, drank her tea, and then adjusted her hat. It was time to go.

Less than an hour later, a red figure was walking out of the city, making her way to the area the clue she'd left behind said she'd be. The heist itself had gone smoothly; now the real fun began.

In the morning, Lord Basil Halwert rose as usual, got dressed, and took breakfast before going to put on his shoes and deal with the matters of the day. But much to his surprise, though he had many pairs of handsome, well made shoes, some of the enchanted variety...this particular morning, he only had right shoes.

On the floor there was a note, and Lord Halwert clutched it fiercely, turning to one of his servants. "Summon Boone."

Smoothing out the paper, he looked at the note once more.
