"You wonder why you are here, don't you?" The soothing sound of seduction echoed against the dank walls of the dungeon. A small light from the outside moon was the only illumination into this hostel from hell. Rats creaked about as they skittered to one another, their little feet audible in the silence of the room. Small droplets of water dripped distantly in the background, a constant beat to keep rhythm with as your heart would beat to a drum.
"Thought crossed my mind..." A voice said sarcastically to the ceiling. A man was tied to a turn table, a torture device that was long since out of use. Tonight however the levers and cranks were oiled, and a wheel to the corner of the room slowly began to rotate so the man could see a wooden door off to his left, and the barred window of light to his right. Before him was a tiny, petite woman with chains wrapped in her hands tightly. She pulled with all her might until she was able to wrap the last of it around a pole. Each tug brought the man upright as he looked at her hazel eyes, a look of simplicity upon them. "Who are you?"
"I'm Elanor Blackmane, remember?" She said, flashing a smile. "We danced at the court two nights ago." The man looked at her and then began to laugh.
"What is this, some fantasy you had cooked up that you just had to realize?" He motioned with his left hand, realizing his body was completely tied up, with no chance of him escaping. "Kinky slut." he mouthed to her in a seductive way. "Just be gentle to the face, I have a meeting with Emprean empire." The woman flashed a small grin, her eyes like beautiful orbs in the moonlight.
"Did you not hear," she asked. "Emprea has fallen to the Carsacan Empire." she moved to the shadows, the sound of metal instruments clanking together. "And you really think I would want myself to touch you, the diligent pig of this waste pool you call a town?" She spat out of the shadows, the slime falling onto his bare chest. The man realized he was completely naked as the drool slithered down his body.
"Then yes, I do wonder why you have me tied up and naked you psychotic bitch!" he shouted to her as his mind felt claustrophobia sinking into his body. He began to see the room spin as he closed his eyes to regain his concentration, breathing slowly to relax. As he opened his eyes he saw before him a town letter, a few faces of people who recently died over the course of one night. They called the murderer the Midnight Monster, and his whereabouts were assumed to be this very dungeon. He started to feel a cold trickle of fear permeate his flesh as he suddenly began to get nervous.
"You're...you're the Midnight Monster?" he stammered trying to keep up a strong front, failing miserably as he spoke. Sweat began to drip down his face as the claustrophobia kicked in again. He started his breathing exercises again to calm himself, but his chest exploded as if a small fire erupted from his left upper torso. He cringed but didn't scream as he looked to see a knife pulling away from his chest, a devilish grin across the woman Elanor's face.
"I go by the Archipelago Assassin, The Fallien Desert Viper, The scourge of Emprea, The Whore child, bitch, the list sadly goes on. Nobody really has anything nice to say to me these days." She smiled licking the blood with her tongue, dipping it across the blade as if was a cream based desert and letting it linger in her throat. After a moment she spat it out on the ground like a wine tester, coughing in a very over exaggerated manner. "You're blood tastes of fear and despair." She grabbed a jug and poured water into her mouth washing the taste out. "You are not correct in assuming I am the Midnight Monster." She went back into the shadows, more sounds of metal moving around and clanging against each other. "We know who that monster is, don't we now?" The man gulped loudly as he couldn't stand it anymore, his body starting to convulse. She scurried over to him, like a hungry animal begging for fresh food. "Now it seeps in, Monster." She said gingerly as she took a small throwing knife and cut below each of his eyeballs. The man screamed in pain and as she tasted the blood she smiled swallowing the crimson liquid in one giant gulp.
"You sick freak!" He said through his seething mouth. Elanor smiled happily to him, as if there was something obvious he should have known. She paced around his body, trailing the knife across his body cutting into him every now and then. He cried out in pain and frustration that he couldn't do anything about it.
"It's delicious...Desperation, Anxiety are usually my favorite combination of emotions to taste." She moved back to in front of him, her grin wider than her face it seemed as her perfect white teeth shone brilliantly in the moonlight. "But you gave me the ultimate concoction. One I get only so often. It reminds me of why I do this...do you know what my favorite mix of emotions are?" She asked stepping forward to her prey.
"Insanity and Depravity you sick fuck?" He taunted, but he still had the hint of fear lingering in his tone like a sour note in a song. She shook her head pulling out a pair of cat's claws four inches long from her knuckles. The smooth metal grazed his skin at first lightly then deeply right on his shoulder down to his torso. The man grimaced before letting out another yelp of pain.
"That's what I love...Agony and Terror, the mixture of torment flowing so perfectly in harmony with dismay." She pulled the claws back quickly and grabbed the paper again. "I asked you why you are in this room. You still do not know? Take a look at their eyes. These are your vigilant watchers, each one of them. They followed you in their echoes into after life, screaming for vengeance. I hear them. I listen. I help them...if I feel up to it." The man glared at her as he saw her starring back, her cold hazel eyes showing no care at all for his life.
"Do you even realize I could have you killed for this, you perverted psycho?" He said in his most intimidating voice. She laughed out loud throwing her head back for effect as she leaned against the wall looking at him.
"Do you realize that word has no ill effect on me? I have been called far worse than freak and psycho, you degenerate murderer. I know exactly all about your bid for power, and you killed five innocent people in your quest to reach the top. People who lived a life, and had nothing else to do with you other than breath the same air you did. But you once said, publicly as a matter-of-fact, about the Midnight Murderer that a person so sick and depraved as he shouldn't be given the luxury of a swift death, and that you," she pointed a smooth foot long dagger at the man stepping forward. "Would personally see to it." She smiled. "So I'm here to make the monster pay, with a slow and painful death, and you must give it your all not to wimp out and die like a dog." He pushed against his bonds trying to get free, but the ropes only cut deeper into his skin.
"I'll have you killed...you have no idea," Elanor through the dagger and it pierced right into his groin, blood splattering all across the ground including some vital organs. She ran up pulling the dagger out and grabbing his tongue as it still hung out from his screams of complete pain nirvana, and with a swift motion she cut off his tongue dropping the muscle onto the ground with satisfaction as she let the spray wash over her. Tears ran down his face, mixing with the blood under the fresh cuts she made. He lost all his angst behind his voice, and he flopped around in pain as she began to clean her blade.
"I have a very good idea that in order for your men to find me, they will need to first find you...you'll be dead before they even think to check this dungeon. At that time I'll be on my way, under my true name. Elanor was just a stage name in this performance, and I must admit you did an excellent job as a supporting role. But as they say, the show must go on, and I have a gig on one of the outer islands." The man looked at her with hazy eyes, blood pouring all over his body creating a small pool beneath his feet. He whimpered as she gathered her belongings, the moon starting to fade downwards to let the sun take control. She hummed a song to herself as she diligently cleaned up and when she was done she was wearing a simple pair of tan burlap pants, black traveling boots, and a sleeveless farm hands shirt. She picked up her large straw traveling hat that easily blocked the sun if it were to shine and walked back to the monster on the table. He had just enough strength to give her one last, terrified look of pain.
His eyes looked deep into her soul, and she could feel his thoughts crawl into her mind and take form. She sighed softly smiling at his odd question, and decided no harm would come were she to answer it. "Yes, I am a monster. I have always been like this. As long as I can remember at least. I have urges, just like you. However mine are in a dark, cold place. There is no split personality or battle for control. I am who I am. To change that would be to stop the world from turning. But, to answer your question." She placed her fingers beneath her chin as if in contemplation of how to phrase her thoughts. She stood there for a moment and then spoke out loud walking towards the door. "Why I did I decide to kill you? I guess you should ask yourself why you had to have that power." She nodded satisfied with her answer. "Then you'll know why I killed you." She opened the door, welcoming the dank coolness of the hall fill her body. She closed the wooden celler and smiled not bothering to look back.
As she walked out to the outside world she could see the faint traces of the sun begin to peak over the mountains. A gentle crimson light began to permeate the surrounding area and she allowed it to bathe around her before she took a deep breath and exhaled loudly, smiling as she stepped forward on the woodland trail to her next destination.

"You're probably wondering why you are here, aren't you?" A seductive, smooth silk like voice spoke from the darkness, as if coming from every conceivable angle. A solitary light flickered on and a long rusty iron surgeons table swung vertically to lay flat.
Eyes fluttered open, the light overwhelming as they squinted to see, and a dark chuckle entered the silence, sending shivers down the spine. That darkness was joined by the intoxicating voice from before as it laughed, two tainted sounds in perfect, twisted harmony. Footsteps echoed as a beautiful blond haired woman stepped forward. Her cold hazel eyes inviting, and she gave off a smile that sent butterflies down the stomach.
"Do not fear death, it's just a by product of life. We all die." She tapped a finger on her chin in thought, and then smiled shrugging her slender shoulders. "It's really inevitable, isn't it?" She ran a hand, her ruby tipped fingernails dancing gently as they clawed the surface of the skin, sending goosebumps up and down. A rush of blood flooded over the body, and it began to shiver. She cooed in excitement and twisted leaving the light. A cold winters chill entered the dark lit room, and the body convulsed realizing the skin was naked. An innocent giggle escaped into the air as another rush of blood went to the head as embarrassment set in.
"I was warned about your beauty, but I couldn't resist. How could such a perfect soul be found in a dump like that? Don't worry dear," She came over, placing a gentle finger to the lips, her skin was soft and fair. The woman's hair fell from her shoulders, boxing her perfect features, and she flashed a dazzling set of perfect white teeth. "Shssh, my darling, no need to say words. Trust me, trust in me and you will be okay." A dark chuckle escaped into the air, and her smile turned into a wicked grin.
"Did you know some say if you're strong enough, you can take the world apart with love?" She asked in a curious tone, skipping into darkness. The sound of metal scraping against metal shot out into the air, and the wind picked up again. "Love conquers all..." her tone began to grow darker and more morbid, and she returned into the light again, a dark scowl on her fair face. "Love will lead you to eternal damnation." She spat in anger as she turned her back, looking into the darkness sagging as if remembering a heavy, painful memory.
"I was adopted you know," She turned back, flashing her paralyzing smile as she recalled the happy times of her childhood. "My father was a brilliant, misguided man. He taught me so much, taught me about the world and the fools mortals be..." She hugged herself and shivered. "He taught me about wolves wearing the cloaks of sheep, hiding in the light of day and coming to hunt at night. I learned much from him, but we needed time apart, and I left him. In that world my darling I donned the sheeps cloak. I acted and pretended to be like every other mindless human cattle as I worked a web that a spider would be proud of." She walked slowly into the shadows out of sight.
"Nobody is ever alone, so long as they listen to the deep desires within. I learned that from a woman named Catrina Ferman, and I also learned how to embrace and grow, adapt, survive. I met with my father a year ago, did you know that?" She came back from the shadows, her eyes glossy and faded as she placed a gentle hand on the arm, leaning her hip against the cool table. "He taught me how to evolve. I was such a shell, a useless, emotionless flat shell. I barely passed for anything, but I took what he taught me, and you know what? I'm doing much better." She stood up patting the arm as she entered the darkness again.
The darkness began to overcome the light, the lamp fading and starting to flicker as the darkness gave off a primeval howl of uncontainable laughter. The cold increased to a chill, and the body couldn't stop shivering. "Do you know what became of my father?" She looked to the body with inquisitive, hungry eyes. Iron shackles began to rattle as her slander hand reached down and released the muffle around the lips. A howling cry of help escaped into the air, and the darkness' laughter increased as did the womans.
"That's right," She mused to her toy. "He he," She couldn't control her childish giggles. "I killed my own father. Just like I'm going to kill you!" She sang happily. A large butcher knife moved from behind her back as a large chunk of the hip fell to the floor in a bloody chunk. Her eyes fluttered with ecstasy, the screams wailing into the night the morbid story of agony and torment.
"SING IT TO ME MY LOVE! SING TO ME THAT BEAUTIFUL REQUIEM OF MY INSANITY!" She cried, blood flying off into the darkness as the light bulb began to flicker out.

The Scale System: The Scale System is a way to easily understand what level of mastery Cassandra has reached in any particular ability. While some may be high, it is going to generally be a non combative, NPC reaction skill only, however, those skills will help others in the future. For instance, the Acting skill will help the lying skill.
1-2: She is either just starting to get the hang of this skill, or is in the process of mastering it. Practice will make perfect.
3: She can use this skill non-nonchalantly as an everyday thing. She still however, is far from mastering these techniques.
4-5: The final stages of, if not the complete, mastery of an ability. She has no need to even think about the skills in question.
Life Skills: These skills has no use in combat.
Acting: 3/5 Acting is the skill of ENTERTAINMENT and performing for an audience, be it private or public.
Lying: 2/5 Lying is the mastery of deceit or corrosion. Be it a flat out lie, or stealthy trying to hide something like a wound or a dagger. When lying to a character, she can use her acting skill to channel, bringing only her words (NOT HER DEEDS) to a skill level of no more than half her acting. (Lvl. 1 = 1.5 )
Charm: 2/5 She knows she is a beautiful person, and has no problem using her charms and wit to get what she wants for small favors. While seeming a bit slutty, she does no acts of sexual or physical contact for such emotions mean little to her. Her Charm however does not go over well with the opposite sex, and makes it near impossible to get females to help her out.
Alchemy: 1/5 Cassandra has picked up a book that once belonged to Catrina Ferman, a soul with dark intentions just like hers. Inside this book is various poisons and tricks for administering the pain without killing a foe. Most noted is the deadly Blood Sire. However, she is just now learning about these, and most of the poisons are well beyond her level of knowledge. Practice makes perfect however...
Obsession (Torture): This is a passive Character quirk. She MUST if in the realm of being reasonable pursue and/or ask questions in the art of Torture. IE: If there is a man who delights in the ways of torture, she can't kill him unless she learns all there is to learn from him. If somebody has a book about unique techniques to inflict harm she will go to almost any length (including stealing if able) to obtain that knowledge. Hell she may even kidnap the person and torture them about how to torture them.
Obsession (Urges): This is a passive character quirk. Cassandra can't go long before she begins to bubble up with the need to kill again. If there is a rumor of someone who has murdered enough innocents, and she thinks the dead in the area have good enough reason to summon her, she WILL NOT pursue another quarry until the hunt is done. This could take years or days. Rest assured...she'll get her target eventually. If no rumors are present she has nothing to focus on, and immediately reverts to A Monster Lurks Within. (see below.)
A Monster Lurks Within: A passive character quirk. While she can easily contain her feelings to the outside world, her urges are another story. The longer a hunt takes, the more she begins to take drastic measures. If the hunt is not going well her mind is not doing well and signs of the inner struggle will begin to show. These signs include monologue aloud (PC'S can attempt to hear what her inner thoughts are as she feels she is thinking them, but in fact is actually mumbling them.) Agitation with simple things like throwing a fork cause her food won't stick, and talking out loud to herself as if someone were next to her. AKA: Signs of mild Insanity.
-Left unchecked or worse, she still has found no quarry, than the monster inside will have no qualms with just picking somebody to kill to sooth her nerves and help her focus again or sate her urges. This will be any target she sees immediately when she has given up hope and all the virtues and integrity she once had is out the window. If she was in the process of a hunt she'll resume with a fresh mind, not bothering to think she stopped her hunt.
Obsession (Dark Companion): A Passive Character Quirk. Cassandra is OBSESSED with her dark desires, a manifestation to her of her darker, deeper insanity. She sees it as a beautiful, charming, guile, vane man who she is devoted to lovingly. Her love is so strong that the thought of any one else in her life makes her angry and moody. As such she is completely immune to mind control effects and love potions. You cannot charm her, trick her, drug her, nothing will make her stop loving her dark companion. And she has only room in her heart for one man. Her Dark Companion.
- Her Dark Companion is able to be seen by those who have the ability to see spirits. If you have a dark desire, or a a voice in your head, or anything that is just not normal and is a separate entity inside you, her dark desires can communicate, fight (HTH only), ect, etc against it. He is seen by others as a shadow form of a man, a head taller than Cassandra.
Combat skills: Uses that can effect PC's mostly.
Sleeper Hold: 2/5 The Sleeper Hold is her best method of subduing her targets to drag them to their doom in her palace of pain. The larger the target, the longer she must keep the hold. The best way to figure this out is to take the weight of the target, and for every 40LBS. over her weight she must hold the sleeper for an extra post. IE a person who weighs 140 lbs requires one post. A person who weighs 250 LBS. would require two and a half posts before the unconsciousness sets in. These are consecutive posts by all players involved. Works on Humanoid creatures only.
Mistress of Torment: 3/5 To be able to inflict the poetic justice she so rightly administers she must be well versed in the art of punishment. Her past has given a good head start on how to inflict harm, and she has no problems with learning more. Now her skills have been tested against foes far stronger than herself, and she has learned much from them, including the dark sinister book of Catrina Ferman
Knives: 1/5 She has a knack for using any form of small cutlery but her skills in active combat are not quite up to par with general people. She can however, hold her own.
Equipment:
-Traveler's clothes. One set of nice formal attire. A jet black sneaking suit made of burlap and other weak fabrics.
-Make up kit for stage performance, a satchel to hold her belongings.
-Set of knives, all varying in types, no stronger than Dehlar with a few Titanium and all but three items really usable for combat. Those would be The cat's claws (A wooden pole with blades that com out like a pair of claws(STEEL), Foot long dagger(STEEL), and a parrying knife STEEL for two dagger fighting.
Since incorporating her fathers own knives she tossed a few of her cutlery in favor of new ones, her utensils of death now include the following:
-Titanium Butcher's Knife
-Dehlar Fillet Knife
-Dehlar Serrated Steak Knife
-Rusty Iron Potato Peeler
-Dehlar Butterfly Knife
-Dehlar Searing Knife
-Steel Basic Cooks Utensils.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that unless she uses the weapons meant for combat, her skills with kitchen knives in combat is still more useless than a bucket with a hole. She will also never use her darling, precious knives for anything but her..."Hobby"
~*~*~*~
Across her travels, Cassandra picked up another person who she uses every chance she gets. He is nothing more than a doll to her, and he constantly prays for freedom from his twisted keeper, but his mind can't fathom a life without her.
Kane Kucan is an average sized boy of slender profile, and his black hair is short, strait, and usually unkempt. He met Cassandra when he was serving with the Emperan Police department as a junior detective. His skills were better suited to digging up information, something he did when he was stealing from the target.
Kane was captured by Cassandra after stumbling down a set of stairs right into her lap after she had killed her father, and was put on the chop block for her kiss of death. But instead she saw a dark purpose for Kane, but to make him a worthwhile pet he needed to be broken, and she did just that. She cut him, seduced him, cut him more until his brain couldn't function. Each time he begins to gorw strong her words of seduction tear down the foundations of his soul, causing him to weep and shy away from her touch. All this is just amusement for Cassandra, but she lets Kane go out and use his skills as a thief to dig up information on a new potential playmate for her midnight desires.
Kane is very quiet, and rarely speaks anymore. He avoids social interaction, and when he is forced to be stuck in public he brings one small pocket knife to cut himself to keep himself from screaming. His mind is shattered and is Cassandra's dark puppet.
Being broken, Kane has lost all will and confidence, he will never fight another person, and would rather let himself get the shit kicked out of him than fight. Which is fine by Cassandra, if he were to die, she would care not for one moment.
Kane is an NPC player controlled by Cassandra, and he is to be used to aid cassandra in finding targets. It must be agreed with by a PC to allow him to get involved in any fights with Cassandra and someone else.
