Name: Gavrin Dunwar
Age: 42
Race: Half Elf, Half Dark Elf
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue, turn Red while angry or under immense stress.
Height: 6’ 2”
Weight: 150lbs
Occupation: Pathfinder

Appearance: Gavrin is a tall man with tanned skin and raven hair that falls behind his pointed ears to his shoulders. He has calm blue eyes that turn red when he is angered. He wears unadorned leather armor underneath a brown wool cloak, and he keeps his rapier strapped to his waist. He generally wears a genial and warm expression on his face, but anyone can tell that he has been hardened by experience. He has a lean but muscular body.

History:
Gavrin’s life has been marked by a paradoxical fascination and disgust with the dark elf side of his lineage. Although he never learned all the sordid details of his parentage, his elven tutors had made it clear that his mother was an elf and his father was a dark elf who forced himself upon her. After Gavrin was born, his mother understandably wanted nothing to do with him, and he was left with a kind village of elves. Although he was always treated with kindness by the villagers and the other children, Gavrin never really felt connected to them, he would always be something of an outsider. This was terrible for a child who loved to socialize and make friends. He began to hate the fact that he was partially a dark elf, but he hated the elves around him because he could tell that they would never accept him completely for who he was. He spent much of his childhood studying and training so that he could set off on his own as soon as possible.

To make up in some way for his lack of friends, the village mage gifted Gavrin with a minor demon he had captured years ago. It’s name was Took, and it was a will o’ wisp , a small ball of light that was bound to him from that day forth. Took, sarcastic and cynical though he was, became Gavrin’s grudging companion, and eventually his closest friend. When Gavrin finally came of age, he decided to set off on his own, his friend Took in tow.

Free from people who knew of his true origins, Gavrin could easily pass as an elf or a half human. He continued to travel from place to place because he loved to learn about new people and places, usually stopping to help anyone in need along the way. The first time he was seriously angered, his eyes mysteriously became a dark elven red. From that day on he strove to learn as much as he could about mixed race creatures. Being the only elf/dark elf hybrid he had ever known of, Gavrin is desperate to know what exactly this odd birth implies and how it affects his life. He is currently working up the courage to meet his father’s people face to face, he feels that he needs to know more about that part of his lineage, even though it scares him that he has “evil” blood in his veins.

Skills:
Racial Advantages: Gavrin has a slightly increased sense of smell, sight, and hearing, and he is gifted with long life.

Above Average Swordfighter: Gavrin has had a bit of professional sword training, making him better than average. His favored weapon is the rapier.

Average Throwing Knife: Gavrin is self trained with the throwing knife and can throw them with average proficiency.

Average Crossbow: Gavrin is self trained with a crossbow and can shoot it with average proficiency.

Survival: Gavrin know the ins and outs of surviving for a short time alone in the wilderness with limited supplies.

Equipment:
Venom, Gavrin’s steel rapier, has a minor enchantment that causes additional burning pain to any wound that it inflicts. These wounds will also take longer to heal and have a greater chance of being infected.

Gavrin’s woolen cloak is enchanted to be as tough as iron armor but still light to carry and wear.

Gavrin also carries a standard iron crossbow, steel throwing knives, and normal traveling gear.

Familiars: Took is a minor will o’ wisp, a demon that takes the form of glowing ball of white light and has limited shape shifting abilities. He can change into a small animal, such as a field mouse or a housefly, for a limited time. Took faithfully follows Gavrin, usually staying hidden safely within his cloak, and can communicate with him telepathically.

senses should only be slightly increased.

need materials for crossbow, and throwing knives. Also, please remove the enchantment on the cloak that avoids magic for now.

Alrighty, looks cool. For the rapier, the way I read it is that a would caused by it has a greater chance of becoming infected, not that the sword itself causes infections... just wounds that burn more when inflicted.

So, keep that in mind, and be very careful with the cloak. A thin cloth that can be as hard as iron is no different than a thin, flexible piece of metal.

Approved.
