hey, a few of my threads have been judged and found out that the Mod thought i did not have an ability.

yet i thought it was implied when this character was approved. I assume i have to have specific wording in my abilities then?

like my paralysis touch, paralyses muscles by blocking nerve signals with magic, yet when myc haracter is hurt i put in a little bit of mana to stop the pain.

i thought i could do that, apparently not.

what would i have to do to get it approved as an ability, and why can't my character do the above said

it is in two but the one that would be easier to find out is here (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=144130#post144130)

All right. This is your ability:

Paralysis touch: This ability allows Max to charge mana into the foe’s nervous system blocking all messages being sent through only to the muscle he touched with his fingers.(( five minutes or two posts on other Characters until end of battle with NPC’s))

This is what the judge's comment said:

“Max pushed mana to his right hand and transferred it to his shoulder, to numb the pain and ease the burn.” [10] ~ You don’t have this ability, it’s powergaming.

Your ability is to temporarily paralyze someone's muscle, and while it's true that if they can't feel ANY signals for it they can't feel pain from it either, you were using it as a healing ability, which you do not have. If you used that move to to block out the pain and then kept using the arm as though there was not an injury - or paralysis - at all, then it would have been an even worse violation.

so using the ability to keep my going longer is a no? even though the less mana i use the less paralysis there is, still doesnt count?

Nope. But you're only about 900 EXP from level 1. If you want to get that as a new ability then, you're welcome to put it in your L1 profile.

Exactly. In both threads you wrote that you took mana and put it into your arm to 'heal' it. Your mana touch paralyzes people, not heals them, so there is no 'implied' healing from the description at all.

Just wait till level 1 and then add that as a new ability, it'll be much easier.

Just to clarify, too, I think the offending sentence is actually the one directly following the one that's already been quoted. The sentence I'm talking about is in bold:
Max pushed mana to his right hand and transferred it to his shoulder, to numb the pain and ease the burn. Once he had thought there was significant decrease in pain he rolled the shoulder making sure it worked just like new before grabbing hold of his last sword with both hand's.If you had done this to your muscle, and then written something like this:
As the pain seeped away, so did the feeling in his shoulder, and when he tried to move his shoulder his limb felt numb and heavy. "Damn!" thought Max, "I might have used a little too much!" But he would have to fight on, even with his arm in such a sorry state. The problem the judge had with your use of the ability is that you used it in a way that maximized its good aspects -- you wrote that it made the shoulder feel "like new" and let you grasp your sword tightly with both hands -- without acknowledging any of the negative aspects of the same spell, namely the numbness and the limb paralysis. You didn't even have to go as far as I did in my counter-example above, you might simply have refrained from calling the shoulder "like new" and said something about how the pain was numbed and refrained from fighting as if it was healed.

With all that said, let me say that I do like the way you are thinking. I've always encouraged players to try to think of their skills and their magic in ways that stretch the imagination and use spells in ways they weren't necessarily intended. But the problem in this case was one of execution; you simply didn't acknowledge that the spell you use has negative side-effects, and acted as if it could provide a great benefit without the drawbacks that would come with it. If you can work on your ability to truly articulate your skills in a way that both accepts their limitations and drawbacks as well as acting creatively with their use, you'll be getting better scores in no time.
