View Full Version : At the end of twilight, there is Dusk

003-Crimson Ace
03-15-09, 11:56 PM
Name: Dusk Vera
Age: Less than a week
Race: Demon
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: read appearance
Height: 4’9
Weight: 110
Occupation: Currently looking

Personality: Dusk is eager to learn about the world and more about Mr. Sin who he is only able to speak to while sleeping, and even then the entity is only a faint whisper. As one would expect of such a young person, he is quite innocent and does not understand much about the world but is willing to help whoever he can and is currently in search of work as instructed by Mr. Sin.

Appearance: Beautiful black hair wrapped in a large purple bow falling down to his back, with shaggy bangs cut just long enough to hide those magnificent swirling eyes of a truly innocent and gorgeous face. Dusk’s eyes are defiantly a spectacle to admire, and is why he keeps them hidden. The primary color is a deep florescent purple which swirls around the entire eye in an erratic pattern, coming to the iris in which a rainbow of color exits in visible waves flowing outward. Despite the size, Dusk appears to be a well toned and muscular human male in his teens, but from a distance appears as a small girl a little on the feral side due to dress and hair unkempt hair. His bistre skin tone is an oddity and makes Dusk stand out among other creatures. A small black vest hugs Dusk frame with four small pouches lined up in the back, while a matching black divided hakama is tied to his waist by a purple sash and tied snug to his ankles.

History: To be slain in battle by a mere mortal is nothing less than pathetic among demons. Some demons however are too stubborn to simply be slain. To survive such a defeat is though even worse a fate then to be vanquished as no matter how much power you once held, others would look down upon you as a weakling. One such demon refused to be looked down upon. This demon decided that if he could not be the strongest, greatest being in existence then he would make everything else weaker and lesser than himself. This is how the Devourer was born. Parallel to the world of Althanas yet not quite a part of it any longer, was this demons one and only weakness. After countless decades of devouring, he required a body. He would need to wait for the chance to be capable of crossing into the body or risk being erased from existence moments after escaping the realm he had been lost within, but there were still methods of contact the denizens of Althanas.

More countless decades pass, a cult following used simply in their naïve worship of what they could not hope to understand, as material for the Devourers future form. The builder of his form was a being by the name of Vera. The demon doubted this person was human or anything of the like, but it mattered not as long as his body was completed. Unfortunately Vera would not live long enough to complete the body but this was only a small problem as the precautionary measures for this had already been set in place and the body would be completed by the time the Devourer was able to break through the barrier keeping him away from Althanas.

As the time approached for the Devourer to take on his new form, other events began to transpire. The Devourers faithful followers that prayed to him as their god had possibly devoted themselves too much to their god and had hidden themselves away from the world, only surfacing to devourer those foolish enough to enter their territory much like their god. Among the next unlucky ‘sacrifices’ was a young thief of no importance to the world. He managed to escape his captures but found what might possibly have been a much more horrifying fate coming upon the Devourers awaiting body. It was at this point the Devourer was able to escape his prison, hopefully long enough to reach what would become his physical form. The young thief however in fear of the Devourer found himself as the final piece to complete the unfinished body.

In away, the boy had saved the Devourers consciousness, as he would only be second to the new being that was this body. Still, a deep seeded hatred for this newly born child had begun to sprout. But, even for a demon that waited for so long only to have his goals snatched away from him, he would not lose hope, for Vera had left a way.

Skills:
003 Series Unit Designation: Crimson Ace
A body constructed out of magically operated machines. This is the Crimson Ace unit. Its construction process is inaccessible as much of the creators research has long since perished. This was supposed to be the Devourers new physical form, but when a young boy accidentally activated the unit; his body was reconstructed and merged with the collection of machines that gave birth to the being know as Dusk Vera.

The unit is currently functioning at only 3% due to adjusting to its new host as well as the Will of Sin.

At this point in time, the active parts of Crimson Ace appear as two 6in wide, thin black bandages with a thick red glowing line down the center. These bandages are quite flexible, as thin as one would expect. They are formed out of trillions of machines that are within Dusk’s body and have a range of 6ft. They are able to each individual pick up an item of 10lbs and no more, though working together they can lift 40lbs total and are as strong as steel when placed into a stiffened state, making them an ideal defense and can form a cocoon around Dusk if needed. Dusk is incapable of using these bandages when under the influence of the Will of Sin.

Will of Sin-
The Devourer is not a name given lightly, especially among demons. As the Devourer, the demon now referring to himself as Sin had as the name suggest devoured countless demons. Though he viewed them as nothing more than food, they had become a part of him, and as Sin attempted to merge with the Crimson Ace unit his being was divided amongst the many machines that make it up, thus he might as well be the Crimson Ace itself coursing through Dusk’s body.

Because his entire being is not collected and much of the Crimson Ace is not functioning, Sin cannot control the entirety of his devoured foes, and some of them seem to have regain consciousness within collections of the machines that make up the unit. Though Sin is ‘awake’ at all times, when Dusk experiences different thoughts and emotions and they reach a critical point (due to the fact that he is only now beginning to understand them) these collectives will forcefully take over his body and the demon ruling the collective is awakened. This is a form of shape shifting, in which the demons power is augmented by Sin allowing Dusk to survive as a form of defense created by the Crimson Ace unit via Sin’s dormant power. Sin is capable of guiding these demons to do his bidding but ultimately their actions are up to them. At this point, Dusk totally blacks out when a demon is awakened So far only two forms are available.

Fear: When Dusk experiences fear, Sin will channel that emotion to ‘awaken’ Shedal. Shedal is a weak shade spirit that can grow in strength depending on how many shadows are around him. He is very weak to magical attacks, but takes blades like a normal person would. Because of Sin’s power, Shedal is able to survive in high direct sunlight, but he has almost no power. While in complete darkness, Shedal is able to heal his or another’s wounds at an amazing rate and can spread himself over an area of 4feet, minor wounds in 2 min, moderate wounds in 20 mins, severe wounds in 1 hour, fatal wounds in 8 hours, as long as Shedal is left undisturbed. Any wounds that Dusk suffered will transfer over to Shedal and because of this Shedal makes a great form for retreat and healing. Shedal is in no way capable of offense. Shedal’s form consists of a humanoid the same size of Dusk with a single eye similar to Dusk though much larger (about 6in) that can be moved to any part of his form.

Anger: When over come with a violent rage, Dusk is transformed via the power of Sin into Van Waltz. Van Waltz sees himself as a protector of Sin, as his code of honor caused him to allow Sin to devour him when he was struck down with a single blow. He is pleased to aid his master in a direct way then just being a part of him, but that is where such feelings cease. Waltz entire body, is a rocky surface with toughness equal to stone. From his left palm protrudes a spike which he can pull/shoot out and use as a pointed 5ft spear weapon with the toughness of iron. Waltz appears almost exactly like Dusk, but with a pair of bulking arms attached to his back that drag across the ground when not in use. These arms are an entire foot around and as tough as iron, able to lift 25 pounds each with ease. These second arms have the same reaching distance as his normal arms. Another difference is that Waltz hair is a deep red as opposed to Dusk’s black hair. This transformation can only be held for the length of 5 posts before Waltz reverts directly back into Dusk without notice.

These forms can only be taken once per thread and if they were to be knocked unconscious they would revert back to Dusk. Because Sin chooses when to awake the demons with his power, it takes more than just the emotion to trigger the transformation, but Dusk is able to hear whispers of the demons thoughts on the specific situation from time to time when he does feel such emotions very strongly.

Equipment:
001 Series Unit Designation: Searcher
Of the information left in Vera’s destroyed lab, it was believed that there had been dozens of experiments prior to the Crimson Ace unit which were possibly sold off or scattered across the world. The searcher is supposed to be able to help find such items, Sin hoping to use them to create a new body for himself. Unfortunately Dusk cannot figure out how to work the thing. It appears as normal compass glowed with a blue light when Dusk first awoke, pointing toward him but since then has not been able to open.

Please reduce it to 2 of those 6ft. black wrap things.

Fear: Please make it so that he can only 'spread himself' over an area of 4 feet for now. And the healing needs to take A LOT longer. Minor wounds in 2 min, moderate wounds in 20 mins, severe wounds in 1 hour, fatal wounds in 8 hours.

Anger: Looks fine, just be careful with the spear thing that you can 'shoot'.

Alrighty, be very careful about powergaming since this could potentially be a very easy character to do that with.

Approved.
