Kelric Valas

[Hey everyone. ^^ Let me know what you think.]

Name: Kelric Valas
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: Appears to be in his mid 20s, but his age is unknown. Even to him.
Class: Reaver
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Glowing Green
Height: 5'11
Weight: 190lbs
Occupation: Assassin

Personality: A rather happy person Kelric tries to have as much fun as he possibly can in his own way. Considered "weird" most of the time as he talks to his Wraith companion he sometimes forgets that nobody can see the specter. He gets his kicks interacting with others and being as much as an oddball as possible. Rather arrogant with his prior success he's generally more bark than bite. He loves to get get a rise from people, it's just what he does.

Appearance: At 5'11 Kelric has an athletic build giving him enough strength he needs to use what he has, but making him light enough to have the speed necessary for his tactics. With his body covered from head to toe with tattoos of ancient demonic incantations and diagrams. His primary tattoos are snakes coiled around around his arms and shoulder, the tails starting at his elbow and the head coming over his shoulder resting on top of his collar bone. He also has a rather large and intricate pentagram design across his back. With his face being no exception he's got tattoos mapped over his chiseled features. The most noticeable being the Latin phrase "Velox Mortis" across his forehead meaning "Swift Death." With a Labret piercing he's got a miniature sickle curving around his chin and sliding an inch down his neck.

Keeping his body concealed in a large Raven-styled Black Leather Surcoat. Fitted with a custom hood his Wraith was kind enough to give it a dread enchantment. The coat seems alive as black tendrils are capable of enveloping its owner mending them in with shadows or concealing subtle movements to give him them upper hand. With a leather bandoleer over his chest he usually keeps his coat closed hiding the daggers. His scimitars easily hidden within its lower folds. With simple black pants to cover his legs he wears ridged hiking boots for friction with wall/post climbing. A small bulge can be see at his lower back giving the idea of a small traveler's pack.

History: Succeeding his father Kedak Valas only by murder in the shadowy assassin's guild in Soul Forge. At the age of 9 his father murdered his mother suspected of having multiple affairs while he was gone. Fueled anger and coaxed by his father's Wraith within his own mind accused his father of becoming old and weak. Putting his father's basic training into use. Killing him with his own scimitar one night while they were eating. Unsuspecting Kedak wasn't aware of his Wraith's treacherous ways until it was consuming his life force and deeming Kelric his new master. Taking his father's Scimitar and black leather surcoat with a custom hood he set off to make a new name for the family Valas.

Impressed by his gritty determination the guild begins the child's extensive training at the age of 10. He quickly became talk of the Shadow Assassin's guild collecting difficult marks at a young age while his older brother becoming a Bone Lord began to put some fame back into the Valas name leaving him with no regrets. Only appreciation for his father's guile.

Skills: Melee combat is his fancy. He uses the shadows and his incredible speed with little to no sound at all. Extensive training with dual wielding an assortment of weapons, hand to hand, and throwing daggers. Minor training in archery with a bow/crossbow. (Would rather charge an enemy than carry such bulky things.)

Equipment: His main weapons are a pair of Scimitars. Given by the power of his wraith his main hand scimitar has a small life leeching affect. Not too powerful, but it allows him to regain stamina and heal minor wounds each time it sinks into an enemy the blade soaks up as much blood as possible seeming to be forever hungry. His off hand Scimitar which used to belong to his father contains the ability of return in case if he ever drops it or ever needs to throw it. It only has a small return range of 3 meters and within his sight. He has a small leather sash across his chest with thin and light weight throwing daggers, ideal for interrupting spell casters and hitting vital points. With a small pack pressed against his lower back it carries a few days rations, a canteen, and some healing salves/bandages.

Parkour: Spending as much time with with his swords physical training has also been a priority on his list. Feeling as though he can scale anything he's not afraid to go after any target.

Magical Abilities: Having a Wraith bound to him he feeds it the souls of slayed enemies to sate its hunger and fuel its personal abilities in hopes that it'll one day grow strong enough to teach him something new. He only has access to two of the abilities from his Wraith.

Cross-Realm Teleportation: By the directions of his Wraith, Pilch, he's got a large and intricate pentagram tattooed across his entire back. The ability brings him into an entire different realm where time slows down to the point where it seems like it's stopped, but has its own cautions. The thought process of the spell affecting how he moves into the next realm/comes out the other portal's end. Still unaware of the method of how the portal is used he's more than capable of flying out the exit upside down letting him land atop his own head than move about flawlessly. An ability meant for last resort situations.

Death Coil: Able to summon two snakes from the tattoos on his arms they're meant for premeditated attacks. Their dangerous and quick venom meant for paralysis to surprise and weaken his enemy before even initiating an attack usually assuring victory and an easy kill.

Familiar's: Pilch being his beheaded companion the large Wraith stood at 7'6. Dressed in a blood battered and torn robe his skeletal frame could be seen under his simple attire. (Though he rarely makes himself visible. Also he'll never be capable of harming another RPer, but will sometimes have fun with GMable NPCs.) Seeming to be forever decomposing his bony body has withered and torn pieces of flesh scattered about. His legs deprived of feet as he simply hovers above ground, his left foot seemed to have had a clean cut by amputation, but his right leg seemed splintered as if his foot had been broken and snapped off.

Welcome to the site. Just a few things to go over with you and edit, and you'll be on your way!

First, the cloak's enchantment... can you please edit in that it does not make you part of the shadows, but just blends with the shadows very well? That would help not make it seem like you can just slip into any shadow.

Second: Skills -- Melee combat is his fancy. He uses the shadows and his incredible speed with little to no sound at all. ((Uses shadows? How so? And if it's manipulation of the shadows it should be added as a spell/ability below for clarification)). ((Also, 'incredible speed' for a level 0 character can be at 1.5x average.))

Extensive training with dual wielding an assortment of weapons, hand to hand, and throwing daggers. Minor training in archery with a bow/crossbow. ((One of the weapon skills can be above average, one average, and one below average. The rest are going to have to be adept - lowest level of skill. Also, 'assortment of weapons' should be more specific... like 'dual wielding short blades and scimitars'))

Next: Equipment -- I'm going to have to ask that you remove the life-leech and stamina/healing affects from the first blade. The return affect can stay on the second. Please limit the number of throwing daggers to 3 for now. "Healing Salves" should be nothing magical, just like something for a burn, or to keep out infection from an open wound. Not something you put on and it heals it.

For all the weapons, I need to know what kind of material they are made from. At this point you can have the swords made out of steel if you'd like, but the daggers I'd like to have stay at iron. You can always go and buy upgrades and more weapons in the Bazaar as soon as you are approved and throughout your rping time here.

Next: Magic/Abilities -- If you could please remove the Parkour and Cross-Realm Teleportation. Both of these are waaay too similar to that one Prince of Persia game, as well as too strong for a level 0 character. You can always add something like parkour later on when you level up, but for now I'd ask that you remove it.

Death Coil is extremely similar to that tattoo covered guy in that one movie, the really crappy one... think it's called Elektra? Not sure. Never saw it, just the previews of the tat guy and such. However, despite it not being an original concept, I'm not going to ask that it be removed. I would like for you to be able to summon one for now, and it's bite causes minor paralysis to only a localized area (so a bite on the hand means the hand goes numb). Characters with a high constitution or of higher level will be able to feel lessened affects or none at all.

Finally: Familiar -- Is he or is he not visible? I don't really know which it is... and as long as you don't use him against a PC, he'll be fine.
