Relt PeltFelter
03-26-09, 07:06 AM
NAME: Group Captain Relt PeltFelter, RAF
AGE: 21
SPECIES: Homo sapiens
GENDER: Female
HAIR COLOR: A brown as fine and lustrous as an English chestnut.
EYE COLOR: The very green of the Emerald Isle herself!
HEIGHT: 5'2", by the Queen's own Imperial Metrics
WEIGHT: 8 stone (or 112 lbs.)
OCCUPATION: World-renowned flying ace of the Great War! The Hun never knew what hit them. In peace time, however, she is the greatest Extremely Big Game Hunter ever to stalk the steamy jungles of Hyper-Africa, and hero to hundreds of impoverished Cockney orphans who she personally will have nothing to do with.
PERSONALITY:
Relt has a certain vitality to her that can't be easily placed into words. She is violent, argumentative, condescending, and disrespectful towards anyone professing to be a figure of authority; and yet, there is something in her bearing and tone that makes her extremely likable, even in the midst of chastisement. She makes friends easily, but she makes corpses even easier. She is cunning, preferring to stalk her prey and be prepared for a single, devestating strike as opposed to a protracted conflict. She is an excellent patron of the arts, both plastic and theatrical, and has an eye for beauty and detail which does not well match the sailor's mouth she usually displays.
APPEARANCE:
Her commanding officer, during the first year of the Great War, described her as "The face of an angel concealing the mind of a tiger." This is not an inaccurate assessment. Despite her predatory mind, she is considered by most to be singularly beautiful; indeed, only her rampant sexual misconduct, war hero status, and improper behavior prevent her being the most sought-after bachelorette in all of London. Her hair is kept short for hygiene, and she wears no make-up or perfume on her delicate features. She is short, and slight, but giving the impression of barely-restrained motion as opposed to frailty. A smirk oft graces her lips, and her immaculate eyebrows are often jauntily cocked, as if in appreciation of some joke that only Relt can hear. Her skin is tanned, a combination of much time spent out in the fresh air and some unknown but exotic ancestry on her mother's side. Her lips are plump with the promise of kisses, but the delivery of curses; her hips are pleasingly wide, but do not ruin her slender frame. Her legs, encased in jodhpurs, have set many a dandy to twizzling his moustache in panic.
HISTORY:
Born into great wealth in the fine, aristocratic family of PeltFelter, Relt was known from the beginning to be destined for a life of more than wooing gentleman callers and fainting coquettishly. Her parents were kind, timid, and utter twits; the chinless PeltFelter scion Archineld, and his lady wife Radrina Gloobis, of the industry-wealthy Gloobises. They tried to raise their daughter in the finest traditions of the English upper-crust.
Unfortunately for this simple pair, it was not to be. From the age of two, Relt refused the usual comforts of female children; dolls were desecrated, dresses destroyed, and make-up mashed up and fed to the family dog. Relt's education was precarious for its entire span; her headstrong attitude caused more than one suspension, and she was long considered a disgrace to her inoffensive heritage.
Immediately following her graduation at age 16, Relt enrolled in Her Majesty's Royal Air Force, flying steamjets across the skies in the wake of the Colony Wars, in which the ingenious Super-Zulu Nation won their independence from the crown. By her eighteenth birthday, there were ominous rumblings of war; finally, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Five-Hundred of the Robottoman Empire, the Great War began.
Despite her RAF commission, Relt did her time in the trenches, fighting the enhanced forces of the Mecha-Kaiser. With her help, Gerry was pushed back from the front lines in UltraFrance, and Europe was restored to stability. Of course, following this, she immediately found herself bored; with there being no-one socially acceptable to kill, Relt turned her attention to the annals of her family, and found a new passion; Extremely Big Game Hunting; the tracking and slaughter of such creatures as the Rhinocerotops and the MultiLion. Her travels across the globe earned her new trophies and knowledge, and she became an exceptional appreciator of art and science.
Which, as it happens, is exactly how she came to find herself on this unusual world in the first place; at a public Grand Exhibition of Professor Gontletrot's "Steam-Powered Universal Fabric Shuttling Loom and Quantum De-Tangler", she volunteered to be the first to visit (and impose the crown's will upon) another world. Stepping into the threads of the loom, the universe was folded and stitched around her, dropping the English war heroine onto the plains of Althanas.
She knows in her head that she must return to the foggy streets of London Town, but her heart cries out that there is so much in this strange new world...so much beauty and novelty that she can kill, stuff, or wage war against.
SKILLS:
-RAF Training: The finest military training the crown provides! A basic understanding of all steam-based war machinery, basic survival techniques in the wild, advanced espionage and subterfuge tactics, etc. If it flies, she can pilot it. She also has an uncanny eye for trench warfare.
-Art Appreciation: Relt has a passion for the arts, and will often go out of her way to experience some new expression of the human condition; her love for art has no cultural or racial bias, and she is always quick to learn of a new artistic tradition. She has a 75% chance of identifying any visual art piece's influences, and can interpret the intent of the director of a dramatic production with a success rate of 60%. When expressing herself artistically, she favors a style of Italian Renaissance art, and has memorized several of the works of Billiam Shakespeare.
-Stealth Tracking Skills: Learned the hard way by stalking the greatest beasts of the world, Relt has the ability to, when working very hard, be undetectable. The basics of sticking to shadows, remaining downwind, and tailing a target are second nature to her, and even the most cunning animal will rarely see or hear her until she leaps upon them with a blade in her hand and a roar in her chest.
EQUIPMENT:
-Kukri: Given to her by a monk in the mountains of Nepal, this weapon has served as machete, eating utensil, and guillotine. It has no special qualities, and its edge is dulled slightly with use, but it is a useful weapon. It is crafted of steel, yak hide, and yeti hair.
-Service Revolver: Lamentably, entirely without ammunition, as Relt carries it largely as a symbol of her duty to the crown. It is carried around her neck on a cord, and is composed of steel with an ivory handle. It has six chambers, but again, no ammunition.
-RAF Pilot Uniform: A leather jacket, cotton shirt, cotton jodhpurs, leather boots, a long scarf, and aviator goggles. The jacket bears on one shoulder the Royal Coat of Arms of England, and on the other, the patch of Group Captain PeltFelter's regiment.
-Safari Garments: An assemblage of khaki shirt, khaki jacket, khaki jodhpurs, a silk cravat, a pith helmet, and monocle. Perfect for hunting the most dangerous game of all...man.
-Survival Accoutrements: An RAF field kit containing the following:
-Portable aluminum tea kit with thirteen (13) teabags.
-Iron rations to last four (4) days.
-Three (3) indecent magazines depicting both men and women in various states of undress and coitus (standard issue).
-Two (2) packs of cigarettes, of the popular "Cheerful Ro-borg" brand.
-One (1) extremely dull trench knife.
-One (1) aviator goggles cleaning kit.
-Two (2) signal flares
-Four (4) bottles of emergency whiskey
