How long?

I just wondered, having seen some of the comments people have made, how long do you spend on average on an IC post?

Depending on the circumstances, I can spend between 15mins and an hour creating a post but how does this compare to other people's experiences?

Varies wildly. I tend to spend an hour or so while walking or driving thinking up ideas for a post before I actually sit down and write anything. Sometimes I end up with ideas for a few pages worth of writing.

Once I sit down it can take me anywhere from five minutes to a half an hour depending on how picky I am about my word choices. Dialog I can write faster, including long stream of consciousness style thoughts. Actions or scene setting descriptions take longer.

These days I spend about the same amount of time as you, Lathienas. Fifteen minutes to an hour or so, maybe a bit longer if I'm really concentrating on it. Back when my laptop was up I used to spend hours on posts, though, and would end up with these huge threads where one post was ten pages long. Literally. Ironically enough, my writing was worse back then, at least score-wise. These days I just go with whatever comes to my mind, and scan it with Word or so to correct grammar and spelling mistakes.

I tend to take somewhere between at the least 30 minutes... up to 3 hours. I'm really picky about what I post though. If I finish and don't like it, I'll delete it all and start over. Don't care how long it is. Then again, all my threads right now that are pertinent and important to this character seem to need a whole lot of thought put into them. I also tend to write a lot of foreshadowing, plot holes, and disguised metaphors... so that takes a bit more time. It's not a forced thing, just something that I like to put a lot of thought into.

With my other characters, somewhere between 10mins to an hour or two. I tend to judge threads faster than I write a single post, but I haven't written anything in an IC thread in a while, and been judging pretty much non-stop for a while... so that's to be expected. Lol.

I spend Nine hours straight thinking on the posts, and then write it all out in few minutes once I get home.

On my current solos however, I spend days writing and thinking on a single post.

40 minutes to an hour, not including time spent thinking on the post.

15 min - 2 hours, depending on what's going on in the thread, and how good I want it to sound.

If I'm leading the quest I take about a day to write a post for me. Seriously, I'm just so picky about how I want it to sound, I read through post over and over. I haven't even been able to post in the Vignette because I keep thinking about it! I need help I think fixing thi sproblem. If I'm in a quest though, it takes about ten minutes or longer. Depends on how much I care.
