Appearance:
Confident. Fierce. Seductive.
...none of these words could be used to describe Kurze's appearance. Her narrow shoulders and modest chest, coupled with her tendency to wear loose, flowing clothing, make her appear even weaker than she actually is. Her pale, almost sickly countenance only contributes to her frail demeanor, and after getting a glimpse of her cloud-grey eyes and messy, straw-colored hair, one might get the impression that some horrible creature has sucked all signs of life out of this petite woman. Her facial features are faelike and friendly; if it were not for the aura of death that seemed to surround Kurze's meager form, she might have been called approachable. The lobes of each of her pointed ears are pierced with a small, gold hoops, and her right nostril carries a matching stud. Bizarre, cyclopean symbols are scorched into her arms and legs, and are completely indecipherable.

History:
One moment, I was not. The next, I was.
I awoke in a bare, concrete cell with no recollection of who I was. I asked a guard caged in steel, but he would not answer me. I did not know from where I had come - I asked an angel with eyes like burning coals, but he would not answer me. I did not know where I was - I asked a beast with seven heads, but he would not answer me. Then, my Lord placed a spear in my hands and I knew who I was: I was his servant. I was death.
I feel isolated, hollow, barren. There is... something... in my mind. I cannot see it, but it is always there, lurking, watching, waiting. I've seen it before, in my dreams. When I first catch sight of it, it is formless and shapeless, but suddenly it appears with horrible clarity and I awake, screaming, only to have the memory melt away into nothingness. Like sand through my fingers, it is gone.
I do not know where my Lord is, now. I do not know who he is. I do not even know what he wishes of me, yet I wander still. Who am I? Why do I not remember my own name? Do I have a purpose? My mind is a house filled with locked rooms that I may not enter, and I have thousands of questions without answers.

Unfortunately, such power always comes at a cost - every spell Kurze casts causes unintended side effects. Generally, the side effects are mild and almost negligible, but occasionally something truly horrible occurs (see bottom of this post for a comprehensive list of side effects).
Quick Note: Creatures without physical brains (such as golems and elementals) are immune to most of Kurze's psychic powers, unless noted with a +.
Minor Powers These powers rarely trigger side effects.
Mind Loop: Causes a brief memory loop in the mind of a single target, causing their thoughts to slip back several seconds in time. Kurze must be able to see the target, and the target must be within 30 feet of Kurze. Forces the target character to repeat the same actions they took in their last post, be it firing an arrow at a target that is no longer there, continuing to run from a slain enemy, repeating the exact words they just spoke, or diving for cover from a magical attack that has already gone off. Cannot be used to force the target to do something harmful, like run off a cliff. Characters more than 1 level about Kurze can resist this power.
Rattlehead: Causes a single target to be wracked with agony, filling their minds with unspeakable pain. The pain is severe enough to interfere with even the simplest of actions, although no real lasting damage is being inflicted upon their bodies (to put it simply, Kurze causes a forced migraine headache). Lasts two minutes/two posts, affects characters who typically cannot/do not feel pain (in fact, it's likely to have an amplified affect on them, as they have presumably have never felt pain before). Can be resisted by characters more than 1 level about Kurze; only usable on characters within 20 feet of Kurze.
Inspiring Aura: For three minutes / three posts, up to three of Kurze's allies within 50 feet are infused with a feeling of confidence. Targets may also feel compelled to say nice things about her. Which is nice.
Distort Vision: With this power, Kurze disappears and an illusory image of her body appears in another location within 30 feet of her true self. For up to three minutes (3 posts) , Kurze is invisible to all other creatures, and her 'image' mimics her actions. All attacks against her, should her true position be discovered, will be very difficult to land. Creatures that do not rely on sight are not affected by this power. Using a psychic power while Distort Vision is in effect causes this ability to end instantly.
Torch: By burning the very stuff of her thoughts, Kurze can create a glowing ball of psychic flame. The light cast by this flame is equivilent to a torch, is roughly the size of Kurze's palm, and can appear anywhere on her body. This flame pulses in rhythm with Kurze's heartbeat, and can be sustained indefinitely. As long as this ability is active, no other minor psychic powers can be used.
Staunch Bleeding: Immediately stops a single wound from shedding blood. This does NOT heal the wound, it merely forces it to clot at an accelerated rate. Usable on any being within 50 feet of Kurze, including Kurze herself. (+)
Telekinesis; Powers that translate mental energy into physical force. These abilities almost always trigger side effects.
Force Bolt: Hurls a bolt of tangible mental force at a target. This bolt appears as little more than a blur in the air, moves at approximately 40 ft/sec, and strikes with as much force as a solid punch. Accurate up to one-hundred feet; fizzles out completely after three-hundred feet. This bolt is roughly the size of a baseball. (+)

(1) Dark Foreboding: A faint breeze wafts through the area, and everyone in Kurze's immediately vicinity gets a feeling that something unfortunate has happened somewhere in the world.
(2) Mounting Paranoia: Kurze gets a bizarre feeling that something is watching her.
(3) Spoilage: Food grows rotten and water becomes stagnant within 50 feet of Kurze.
(4) Distortion: Mirrors break and other reflective surfaces ripple strangely within 50 feet of Kurze.
(5) Bizarre Echo: For a full minute, voices and other sounds echo regardless of the surroundings within 50 feet of Kurze.
(6) Unnatural Decay: All plants within 50 feet of Kurze wither and die.
(7) Bloody Tears: Blood weeps from stone and wood within 50 feet of Kurze. Statues and portraits of people also appear to be crying blood. This effect is relatively unsettling, to say the least.
(8) Psychic Chill: The temperature drops sharply in the air around Kurze (to approximately 0 degrees celsius) for a few seconds, and a fine coating of frost covers everything within fifty feet of her.
(9) Psychic Discharge: Static electricity fills the air, causing hair to stand on end. Kurze rises roughly five feet into the air over several seconds, then is abruptly dropped back to the earth.

Major:
(1-3) The Gibbering: Kurze screams in pain as uncontrolled psychic energy surges through her unprotected mind. Leaves Kurze helpless for one round, and gives her one hell of a headache for several days.
(4-6) Chronological Incontinence: Time warps around Kurze. She immediately winks out of existence and reappears within twenty feet of her initial location within five minutes.
(7-9) Psychic Mirror: Kurze's power is turned upon her. The power has it's usual effect, but it targets Kurze instead. If the power would typically have a beneficial effect, it instead causes a minor explosion at Kurze's feet, dealing moderate burn damage to her body.

Accidental Summoning: A level 0, demonlike creature pops into existence within thirty feet of Kurze. It detests the psychic, and focuses it's attacks on the fool that summoned it. This demon will remain 'alive' for three posts/minutes, and will only have weak, physical attacks.
