Reiko Valour
04-11-09, 11:56 PM
Name: Reiko Brin-sa Valour
Age: 18
Race: Fizlin' Draconis
Hair Color: Dirty blonde
Eye Color: Green
Height: 6'1
Weight: Never bothered to find out
Occupation: Adrenaline Junkie... part-time hero

*Personality: To live, to laugh, to love. A motto that marks out the path Reiko has laid for himself, wishing to experiance all that he can until his heart finally stops beating. He does have a noble streak for when things kick off, but in general hes pretty much a laid-back lounge lizard that is always out for a good time, be it battling nefarious evils of the world... testing the stomaches of the staunchest villagers in a cook-off or in a preferred situation... using his flame affinity to heat up some willing lass. Despite his firey skills and upbringing he has no such mercurial temperment and will usually remain quite calm and relaxed rather than lose his cool and even then it dosen't make for much of a change in his personality.

Appearance: Shaggy, wild, smooth and controlled. Conflicting but all accurate on the Draconis' posture and general gait along with his ragged apperance. The key feature of him, the one that catches eyes is the in-humanity of his face, no rosey cheeks or aqualined nose, no it was a smooth and rather light-catchingly good snout. The Draconis were pretty much a reptile people and so looked the part, incredibly fine scales of varying flame-related hues covered them from head to claws. Upon his hand was only a thumb and two large yet dextrous fingers, solid talons of bone jutting out from their ends. His feet were much the same way, tri-digited and equally as lethally equipped.

In a curious feature, not normally associated with reptiles however was his vast blonde mane. Generally he didn't care much to careful preening and so it just grows and grows, spilling in front of his shoulders and at times even covering an eye now and then depending on his spiked fringe falls, every feature of it as wild and heated as owner. Below the base of his spine is a solid and thickly muscled tail that reaches around five feet in length, at its tip a rather powerfully burning flame, a rather unusual feature of the Fizlin' Draconis that makes them fairly unwelcome in locations such as Barns loaded with straw, corn-fields or a fire-works work-shop. On the plus side while naturally igniting afterwards, the fire can be doused and a typical custom of Draconis living among the human populace of Fizlin' is simply to wrap soaked rags upon their tail-tips.

Adorning nearly every part of Reikos frame are markings of his freedom as he calls them. In fact its a simple set of full-body tattoos, taking the form of large black splotch-stripes. Body-marking is a popular fashion among Draconis at any rate though few go quite so extreme.

His clothing is a rather simple ragged grey cloth top, nicely baggy so that the sleeves often cover all but his claw tips and also comes with a hood... though with so much hair it does little more than bring his massive pony-tail for the fore. On his legs an equally ragged... though more intricately repaired pair of cloth trousers, baggy in just the same way though tightly held up through a simple leather belt. Underneath these garments he wears the only armour that truly caught his eye, on each fore-arm are a pair of steel bracers, their surfaces etched with several deep lines and grooves to aid in guiding an opponents weapon. From ankle to shin his legs were covered in the same way with a set of steel greaves.

History: Fizlin' a little known region wedged solidly in the North-East. It sported nothing more than a collection of farming villages, a very small though stable trading guild and among the species were the typical humans, one Fortress still used by Dwarves and the Draconis. A people that have little history and believe they began through some magical creation or perhaps an evolution of Drakes and lost their history through some great migration that finished with five tribes settling in Fizlin'. History in general seems an unimportant thing for the Draconis in general, while some notable deeds are recorded... things like their early relations with the human settlements or tribal fueds receive very little lasting recordings.

Among the Brin tribe was born Reiko ,the sa, meaning second son of his brood, the Valours. Among their number had been raised proud defenders of the home-steads, influential traders that often leave for far-flung corners of the world and... well there were a rather sizable scattering of typical occupations such as artisans, craft-workers and simple hunters. Reiko, being born into such a simply varied family meant that he'd not really been expected for great things but was encourage just to have fun with whatever he did and see what stuck for his particular path in life.

Spending time with Aunts, Uncles and other various scattered relatives, including a few half-bloods that stuck in the more human dominated areas simply affirmed what Reiko believed to be true, he was up for pretty much anything. Causing trouble with his brothers and other young kids around the settlements was a particular enjoyment and through all those little innocent scuffles and pranks came his affinity for combat... later attempting to focus this natural flair in hunting for whichever home he was currently staying with. It was not unknown for Draconis to be very transitory, not just in where they lived, but who they lived with and on hitting his early teenage years and noticing that Draconis girls shared the same fun bumps as human girls Reiko became a hell of a lot harder to catch in one place for any length of time... several concerned parents tried their best though.

Hitting early adolesence at the ripe-age of 16 Reiko had finally decided Fizlin' was going to be a nice place to return to. He'd broken bones, promises and hearts... and done so many more positive things left etched in many memories, but he had to move on just to expand his horizons. For a parting gift the departing scoundrel was given a set of limb protectors, a sloppy lick up his cheek from Grandma Valour and hitched a ride on the back of a trade-caravan. Offwards, to adventure, excitement and really wild things.

Skills:

Hot-blooded: It shouldn't be suprising that a creature like the Fizlin' Draconis is quite talented in both the usage of fire from within them and being protected from it.

Fire-breath - Every Fizlin is capable of breathing out a gout of flame and some can sustain it as long as they breath within their lungs. Reiko never had much interest in flaming breath though and can only do short coughing spurts that reach up to 3 foot, but since its just solitary blasts its little use on enemies and only practical when it comes to lighting things such as dried grass.

Heated hide - All Fizlin's have a rather high body temperature, not uncomfortably so for any regular warm-blooded creature to touch and hold, in fact for a chilly traveller hugging a Fizlin' can be a rather pleasant experiance. All that constant internal heat however, along with all the fine scales means that the Draconis are rather decently fire-resistant and increase that protection with prolonged exposure. Reiko was always a smart soul when it came to dealing with fire and so has only gained protection against simple natural flames. Hot-coals, camp-fires and wall-mounted torches have no effect upon the Draconis, though hotter sources such as a black-smiths furnace or flames created through magic can still hurt him. Simply from being scaled hes not particulary good at being burnt though, nothing all that flammable. While the hair of a Draconis might seem one thing which would catch alight it shares the same properties as their scales when it comes to flames.

Brim-stone - A rare move that only some of the younger among the Draconis really care for. By ingesting handfuls of pebbles and stones the Draconis can gather it within their stomach and through massive internal heating... along with a muscle reflex be able to launch a red-hot ball of melded rock from their maws. The experiance is rather unsettling for most since its like vomiting up a football. Reiko however dosen't mind it all that much and the power of such an attack distracted him from improving his fire-breath. Currently hes capable of forming around five brim-stone balls within the space of two hours, the process of forming one is very quick but it does require a lot of energy in order to increase his own temperature enough to fuse the pebbles into a good solid lump at around 4 inches in diameter. If malnourished or in starkly cold climates that number can be reduced to just the one if extreme enough.

Being hit by a Brim-stone ball at around a distance of ten feet feels like being smashed by a very hot brick and can leave serious burns on exposed flesh if left pressing against it. Further out the damage becomes less and less and his unelevated head range is 13 feet, but by then all force is long-gone.

Instinctive violence: Being one of the wilder types among his people Reiko always sought to make good use of his natural endowments, those being his meat-shredding teeth lining the inside of his maw. The sets of claws upon fingers and toes... not to mention the powerful muscles within his tail and his bodies general fitness. Despite being purely a fighter of instinct, they are sharply honed and he could be rated at Above average in skill.

Being a Draconis also benefits him in his psyhique and while not hugely different he is 1.5 times faster than a human which shares his lanky exterior, the extra balance afforded by his tail helps a lot.

Hi there and welcome to Althanas! I'll be in charge of going over your profile with you and asking for any necessary changes to be made. ^^

Heated Hide - At this level, Reiko can have resistence to fire, but magically created flames can hurt him (not just cause him pain) so can stronger flames from hotter sources than simple camp fires.

Brim-stone - At this point, Reiko can only swallow enough stones to make a molten lump about 4 inches in diameter.

You may pick either strength or speed to be 1.5x better in, but not both.

Make those changes and you should be good to go.

Its been changed to that wording. Didn't see much point altering heated hide since being hurt is the same as getting pain, its just that being scales he can't ignite as simply as a human being with their body hair. Still like I said, its been changed to that wording and the skills have been altered. Done and dusted.

Pain is merely pain, being hurt means that it can cause damage.

Approverized!
