View Full Version : Sometimes you just need to shop
Karuka's life had centered around the bizarre, the impossible, the difficult, and the extraordinary. Normally, this was interspersed by long stretches of intense boredom...but sometimes, too much just hit all at once.
It was during those times that she found herself drawn to the mundane. And what was more mundane than replacing old clothes that were starting to wear out? Since she was in Radasanth anyway...it was the perfect chance to replace clothes that she'd been wearing for over three years.
The redhead shoved the door of the clean, well lit shop open, stepping in and looking around. She knew he was right behind her, although she was convinced it was all a rather stupid joke on somebody's part. But...
Trying to ignore thoughts of what had happened the night before, Karuka went over to a rack of clothing. Vlince was probably her best option...even if she was looking for something a bit stronger...

With a sigh Seth entered the shop pushing the door open behind the red head. His eyes roved the shop and he mumbled about price gouging shop keeps before he moved about the store. He was in dire need of some new boots to replace the old ones. So distended they had become, he was pretty sure that one or two solid kicks would see their soles leave and the rest flop uselessly about his ankle.
He sighed as he looked about the area and felt the weight of his gold pouch, boots would be easy to come by, he'd just need to think of anything else he'd need. Looking at his belt of daggers he saw Malice staring up at him, along with the two daggers he had gotten off his first victim. he'd need more, especially with how he was prone to fighting. Rubbing his eye tiredly he looked about the area before picking up a set of leather boots. Moving to the front counter his eyebrow raised as he spied a set of knives, varying in width and length. Swallowing a bit of drool he leaned on the counter with his impressive stature before he eyed them, mentally cataloging which ones would go home with him tonight.
"How can I help you?" The voice, as gentle as the wind, came from a kindly old man behind the counter. His eyes shimmered in the poorly lit shop, but his smile more than made up the warmth a few extra candles would've produced.
His eyes squinted even more as he saw the young redheaded girl look through the clothing section, and a strange man salivating over his collection of knives.
"I can tell you we have only the finest products here at Doc's."
Karuka's eyes flicked over to the old man behind the counter. "I don't doubt that, seanair,," she said, addressing him with the familiar but respectful term for 'grandfather.' Her fingers traveled once more over some sturdy vlince in a color she found pleasing, then she turned to regard the old man more fully and return his smile.
"Actually, I'm hoping there's something sturdier than vlince, but still as flexible as cloth...but not as light weight as sifan. Is there any such thing, or will I have to go for chainmail?"

Seth looked at the older man before he nodded, "I haven't seen knives this well balanced in awhile... That's really what I'm looking for, knives balanced for throwing, what material would you recommend for that purpose? I've tried steel which has nice heft but, I don't feel it keeps its edge well enough..."
He then looked down at the boots, "Plus I'm going to need those, my old pair has grown a bit, worn."
Doc starred at the young lass first, a grin plastered across his face.
"Chainmail, while flexible, is not as good as vlince when it comes to movement. It'd say your best bet is to layer linen with sifan. It allows flexibility, but adds warmth and heft to it."
He looked at the man, his smile not fading for a second.
"Delyn. It's a bit lighter than steel, but I have a few throwing knives that have a heft to them thanks to a wooden hilt made from Nihon. Best of all, it can hold enchantments and keep a fine edge to it."
