Nightstalker was on his way out of Radasanth, when the memory of his earlier battle caused him to turn down the less traveled section of the Bazaar. EVERYONE knew that the good things were in the more polished sections. EVERYONE knew that the poorer section only had items of an even poorer quality.

Nightstalker chuckled inwardly at the misconceptions of the poor deluded fools that comprised EVERYONE. He wasn't everyone, he wasn't even a part of everyone, he knew that the same quality could be found everywhere, the only difference was in price. His father once spoke in glowing terms of a store called The Jade Armory. Though true it wasn't as polished as some more upscale joints, the prices were honest, and the service was beyond comparison.

Nightstalker found the store, and felt like he had just stepped into history. The building looked to be at least several hundred years old, and though it was indeed rickety, it was in a state of descent repair.

Nightstalker stepped in, and felt powerful enchantments bind him. He wasn't sure how he knew, but he knew it was flat out impossible for him to steal anything. The way the shop assistants looked up from heir sweeping, it was obvious the same enchantments told them he was a Ninja, and thus should be watched.

He walked down the aisles and marveled at the sheer range of weaponry availible. Some mundane, some exotic. He even saw an Auto-crossbow in a sealed glass case. The price for it put it well beyond Nightstalker's reach. It ran along what he was interested in, but wasn't quite what he was looking for.

He noticed the sign that read
"All items Display models only!"

The two assistants ran to the back, and moments later, Nightstalker thought a sage, or a very wise and powerful magi had walked out of the back. Nightstalker had the very strong urge to just sit at his feet and listen to any wisdom he might impart. Yet, care for the customer shown in his eyes. His customers were his top priority, his employees second. All else came third. By the way he dressed, it was obvious he owned the store. A sooty apron told the tale of the forge, and by the sounds in the back, Nightstalker realized he was probably training an apprentice.

"Dear sir, I apologize for the intrusion, but I find myself poorly equipped, and my father, who visited Radasanth often, always spoke in glowing terms about your shop, and you in general. I thought perhaps then, that this was the best place for what I seek. I seek a small knife, possibly of the sort that can easily hide in a belt, or in a boot, and a number of Shuriken, preferably of average steel quality."

A wave of pressure flooded the tiny shop as the venerable shop keeper walked out, one hand upon a long white beard, the other held behind his back. His two servants stood at the ready behind him, there bodies showing signs of stress at being in such proximity to the power of the keeper.

He looked the small ninja in the eyes, and he gave a derisive snort of satisfaction as he looked at the so called ninja before him. It was true he had a few enchantments in his shop, but the power the ninja felt was the awesome energy the mage could release like one would turn on a faucet. He gave a soft laugh, and it echoed in the shop as he glared at the cretin before him.

"Buttering me up doesn't grant you a fair price for my wares. You want average pieces of garbage, go to a world market. I sell only fine quality items. If your father truly knew me, and spoke highly of me than you would have known that. So, who is your father exactly?" He said, flooding the room with more of his power making the ninja feel a heavy weight as if invisible hands were forcing him to kneel.

"My Father was my master. Known to all he met him as Master Roshi. Most lamentably, he has ventured forth to Lady Koriko's realm. As for average, I was merely thinking that perhaps your apprentice, whose hammer I hear ringing in the back even now, had made a few things of his own, and sought to merely bolster his confidence in his skills. However, if his items are not yet up to satisfaction, then yes, I would gladly buy the superior items you have for sell. The order remains the same, a small belt knife and a number of Shuriken." Nightstalker said.

The following moment of Silence was punctuated only by the continued ringing of the hammer on the forge. It took all Nightstalker had not to Prostrate himself on the floor.

"See, I need them to help me. I have learned of the secret location of a man known as Master Hokkaido. Master Hokkaido, as I've been told by the Aibrone monks themselves, was one of the best Ninjas in the world, attaining a rank only six may carry at any one time. Honored Elder, Master Hokkaido was once one of the Demons of Akashima, I always thought the urban legends of the six master Ninja in direct service to the King and Queen themselves false. I mean, no one has ever seen them, no even other masters. I'm hoping I can somehow convince Master Hokkaido to take my training to unparalleled heights, however insane I've been told he is. After all, if you want to be the best, first, you must learn from the best." Nightstalker said, feeling the need to explain himself for reasons unknown to him. Perhaps it was the mysterious added pressure Nightstalker felt from this man.

OOC: Master Hokkaido is utterly insane. He's fond of beating students who don't live up to expectations with a Bamboo Cane. Those who survive his training, what few in number they are, all three of them went on to become legends in their own right. The remaining 97 are buried in a little graveyard beside his Pagoda. As a man such as this shopkeeper would know something of Hokkaido, use this little ooc snippit however you feel ICly.

The man regarded the name with careful consideration before tossing his long beard forward. "That is a name I haven't heard of in a long time." He whispered looking to the ninja carefully. He turned back to his apprentice and ordered him to begin preparations for the order, and he looked back to the ninja.

"Of what material do you seek, boy?" he asked. "And then we shall talk price."

"Well, for the current moment, good old fashioned Steel suits my purposes just fine. It's not like I expect to go meet a denizen of The Abyss, again." Nightstalker said.
Clearly there was a story behind those words, for they had the ring of truth to them. But now was not the time for stories.

He wondered if he should remind the honored elder he wanted a belt knife and as many Shuriken as he could afford after that.

"Very well, we shall make the weapon, and as many spare parts as we can muster. Each shruiken will cost you 25 gold pieces. The belt will cost you another 50, and the blade will cost you another 75 gold. So you are looking at 100 for the base materials, and 25 for each additional shruiken you want." he replied passing him the quill.

"Well, for obvious reasons, I need the belt to be black on one side, and tan on the other. White sticks out like a sore thumb on a black sneaking suit, even at night. But I'm just wasting breath with something we both know, and I apologize for that.

I have folds and pockets for the Shuriken, so let me think a moment." Nightstalker said.

He was visibly thinking for a moment.

"12 Shuriken would prove most adequate and come to 300 gold all on it's own. Add in the additional 100 for the belt and knife and it comes out to 400, no, wait, you said 50 for the belt and 75 for the knife, so that's 425, not 400. That I can easily cover. However, I am a bit curious what the prices would look like if I went with plynt Shuriken, as the concept of throwing a flaming Shuriken sounds too legendary to pass up." Nightstalker asked, revealing a bit of kid in him that steadfastly refused to grow up. Then again, who didn't have a bit of childhood still lurking around in them somewhere?

OOC: No, really, the idea of throwing a flaming Shuriken sounds too awesome to pass up.

The man gave him a glimmer of irritance, and his eyes narrowed like a father scolding a child for asking the stupidest questions. He let his hand show as he made a sarcastic gesture to his guest, his tone mocking him in high pitch stupidity.

"Why don't we just make it so the blades will turn into flying hydras, that grow and eat everyone in sight and then return to a blasted piece of metal when you tell them too?" He sighed heavily as he calculated the math in his head. "60 gold for each one in the desired material."

Nightstalker appeared to actually seriously consider the flying hydras concept for a moment.

"Alright, lets add five Plynt Shuriken to that for a grand total of Seven Hundred Sixty Gold. Good thing too, it was weighing me down and serving no practical purpose." Nightstalker said.

He reached into his money bags and paid the full amount after writing up what he wanted.

"So, about two, three days to get it all finished?" Nightstalker asked.

The man lifted a single hand and with a word of power a gust of wind spread forth, picking the ninja up and blasting him out of the shop. "It will take a week. Until then don't bother us! I will send an attendant in to fetch you when it's ready." he glared at the ninja before he turned to the back room and began his work.

((Did your math wrong. 425+300= 725. The shop keeper will ignore this slight, as his wind spell magically took the correct amount he needed. :D))

Nightstalker spent the week lurking around Radasanth. He hoped the shop keeper understood he wanted 12 Steel Shuriken plus 5 Plynt Shuriken. He decided such things didn't matter.

After a week, Nightstalker strolled on in and waited quietly for service.

The master entered the room, handing him his new toys, and turned without even letting him get a word in edge wise. "They are completed. Enjoy them, and try not to embarrass yourself with them..." he warned.

(Thread transaction completed.)
