Name: Allistia Eraclaire
Age: 21
Race: Human
Hair Color: Fern Green
Eye Color: Golden Platinum
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 140 lbs.
Personality: Allistia is quick to adjust to new social situations and make friends, though most of those relationships are rather superficial. She is outgoing; quick to start a conversation, but just as quick to sit back and let another do the talking. She despises cruelty and unnecessary suffering especially that inflicted upon the young and the weak. Though lighhearted and bright in her public persona, her true nature is much more cynical with a somewhat dark sense of humor.
Appearance: Allistia's golden platinum hair falls nearly to the small of her back. Her pale green eyes shine with a quiet intensity though her expression is soft and welcoming. Her attire is most often simple but elegant in the manor of one accustomed to privileged life, but not particularly attached to its luxuries. Having been raised in a noble household, her posture is rigid and attentive out of habit.
History:
Allistia is the younger of two daughters born to the Baron, Lord Xavir Eraclaire. Her father always favored her over her elder sister who had been born quite ill. Until their mother died shortly before Allistia's eighth birthday, Allistia had accepted that their parents seemed to have picked favorites; however, her father quickly remarried, and his new wife was not quite so fond of Visla as their mother had been. With their mother gone and this new lady of the manor largely ignoring Visla as their father had, Allistia became Visla's closest friend.
From the start, it was obvious that Allistia had the makings of a priestess. Growing up, she would always volunteer to pray before meals, and she couldn't stand to watch idly while someone or something suffered. In fact, that was how the family had acquired their dog, Alfons. When Allistia was about seven, she had accompanied her father into town on some business. While he discussed one thing or another with some shopkeep, Allistia had noticed some local boys harassing a poor stray. The poor thing was obviously tired and hungry, and in enough pain without these hooligans throwing rocks and sticks at it. She stormed across the way and demanded that they leave the poor creature alone. The boys, being boys and having no idea who she was, refused of course. Allistia, unphased, calmly approached the stray and offered it her hand. Initially afraid and thus defensive, the dog quickly calmed at the sight Allistia's sympathetic demeanor. The boys, annoyed that their fun was to be ruined, prepared to throw things at this nosey girl as well when Lord Eraclaire noticed his daughter was no longer at his side and stepped into the street to find her. Fortunately for those young boys, Allistia was a far more forgiving person than her father and she convinced her father to let the boys go without punishment and to adopt this helpless wretch his daughter had rescued.
Soon enough, the girls came of age, and while her older sister managed to avoid attending the local academy for a full year before Allistia reached majority, she could not deny her father's request. Besides she had no desire to hide away in their father's vast estate when she could be out in the world making a difference. Faced with the loss of her only friend, Visla accompanied Allistia, though reluctantly.
Skills:
Light. Allistia is able to, with a touch, cause an object to emit a magical light equivalent to torchlight.
Wyrda Ratandi. Celestial for "words of power." Words of power may manifest themselves differently depending on the will and experience of the invoker. Allistia is currently familiar with only one.
- "Kotor" : a word of power from the Celestial tongue representing the idea of fortification. When this word is invoked by Allistia, the subject is enveloped in a translucent sheen which deadens incoming blows. Weaker attacks are absorbed entirely, but most attacks are only softened as though the target were wearing medium leather armor. Currently, Allistia is only able to invoke this power for herself.
Penance. Allistia's only active, offensive ability, penance causes the target to feel twice the pain of any unhealed wounds which they have inflicted upon Allistia since the last time it was cast on them. Currently, only the sensation of pain is returned, but it is often enough to cause assailants of weaker constitutions to collapse.
Martyrdom. This gift (or burden) from Ilmater allows Allistia to transfer the wounds of a touched target to herself. It requires a prayer taking approximately one minute to recite.
Healing. Despite having been chosen by Ilmater for reasons unknown, Allistia's ability to heal others is meager at best. Her ability to heal herself, however, is certainly noteworthy. She sees this as a sign that she should rely on magic as little as possible for healing and tends to resort to mundane methods involving the gathering of herbs for cremes and salves.
Equipment:
Oaken Quarterstaff. A simple staff made of wood. Used for walking and occasionally as a defensive tool with some proficiency.
Healing Kit. Contains a mortar, pestle, empty bottles, bandages and most other things required for dealing with minor injuries using herbs and other mundane means.
