If you need help coming up with something, you should check out the 'Mission/Bounty/Employment Boards' that are post in most of the regions. Corone, Scara Brae and Dheathain definitely have them. I don't think the other regions do though. Anyway, you should take a peak in there and see if anything catches your fancy. If not, grab someone who has a character that interests you and brainstorm some ideas. Most of us here are nice to newbies, and I even bite gently. ;)
As you have been officially approved and you DID accept my offer, I will make an arena sometime within the next day or two. I work nights, so, yeah...
I strongly caution you, an arena in the citadel is limited only by your own imagination and can be anything. I will read your profile and devise a challenging arena, or at least one I think will be challenging, but not overly so so as to prevent being overwhelmed. I will then link you to the thread here.

Great, I love challenging things and I love being overwhelmed. It's all good, I'll probably like the most challenging stuff a lot.
Well, judge for yourself.

Going to post soon, just wait a moment for me to get an idea up.
I need more details about the arena and the battle. Is there any terrain other than the ships? What time of the day is it? Where can I start? Do we talk before we fight?
How do you actually get into the battlefield? Do you just magically appear? Do you walk in?
Well, I did forget to put that in. I assumed it was a given that is was daytime. Sorry!
As for getting to the battle, you will need to expand and RP it out, but the common steps to a battle are:
1) decide to go participate in a citadel battle
2) Get to the citadel
3) inform a monk that you wish to battle. (This is usually a random NPC, however I have a few special NPC's relevant to Ailnea's storyline that are also monks.) Note that if you are the one to decide the battle, you will need to, in some manner, also tell the monk what sort of arena you want. This can be simple and ordinary, such as something you might actually encounter either in RL, or somewhere in Althanas, to something a bit more extreme and imaginary. However, this time, I made the arena, so you only need to tell the monk you wish to battle.
4) follow the monk to your arena. This is done usually in the same post you tell the monk you wish to battle, followed by your description of the arena, regardless of who made it. This is the arena as you perceive it.
5) step through one of the monk's many magic doorways that lead to the arena. A common response I see regularly, is to write that it is as though passing through darkness and nothingness.
6) Emerge into the arena. This is a case by case basis. In our instance, two logical choices are self-evident:
>A) appear like Ailnea did, riding a ship and it gets wrecked and taken to The Graveyard
>B) come out a door of a wrecked ship already in the arena. There are underwater sections, so this could be quite the advantage.
Or C) you could appear out of a door that magically appears in mid-air.
7) Introduce yourself to your opponent ICly. Its a common thing, and fairly common courtesy, but not an actual rule.
Steps one through seven can all be done in a single Intro post.
8) Fight!
This takes several posts
9) After the fight ends, in one way or another, a common tactic is to wake up in a random healing room somewhere in the citadel. Your usually fully healed with no repercussions, unless otherwise noted. If you wish to request a spoil, then now is the time to do so, so long as its a spoil relevant to the thread. Normally, this is your last post, unless otherwise agreed upon privately through OOC channels, such as a PM.
10) submit that thread for judgement. Only one player need do this.
11) After the Judge does his/her thing, read the judgement, and at least take their comments into consideration.
12) do the happy dance knowing that you completed a citadel battle thread. (This step is optional.)
I advise you to read some of the threads in the archives, this will give you a firmer grasp of how its done. It will also give you a chance to see what a judgment is actually like, and how EXP and GP is awarded for a citadel battle thread.
