Now I've shelved a couple of crappy characters, I can start up one I'll actually enjoy using.

Name: (True name is unpronounceable in any known Althanian Tongue and thus means little to anyone anyway, however he retains knowledge of it as it serves a purpose in maintaining the link with his original form.)
Chosen Nomenclature: Thios Thayneslayer (He has reasons for this particular title)

History/Backstory etc.: Thios was once a God. In another time, another place, he ruled over civilizations, held a thousand thousand followers in his thrall. However, a god can only be as strong as the prayers that follow him.
Although placed among the stars, ruling with the rest of the ancients, his people were becoming restless. Granted, the benefits of following him over any other of the ruling forces were great, but the costs were equally as great. To fuel his power enough to meet the great demands his followers made - which he would try to meet with great pleasure - he had to also demand great sacrifices, often of prized beasts or relics. The people resented his call to use only what they needed and relinquish the rest to him to allow him to better heed their call. Eventually, many of his rival ‘gods’ gained power and drove their followers to imprison him. When he was forced from his celestial home he was banished through a void in the sky to a distant plane.

That plane was Althanas. He found he was entombed deep beneath the ground, his very essence crystallised into the rock around him. His two sincerest followers had endeavoured to save him and had succeeded only in tearing their own souls free of their bodies and joining him in his subterranean prison. However, with much effort he discovered that the life forces of these two brave men, who had committed to his cause with such fervour, could be used a channel for his own spirit. He could send a mere fraction of his conscience to the surface of the planet by using the twin life forces as a conduit for his mind. A particularly weak-willed man was soon bent to his ways, though it pained him beyond measure to force the man to suffer. The essence of his thrall’s pain was echoed in his visage, a twisted being of pain. By seizing control of the unnamed pawn at opportune moments, Thios found he could significantly alter the course of history and thus his quest for the regain of his freedom began. He learnt much of his world through the thrall and via others once he died. In particular he sought knowledge of those known as the ‘Thayne’. These he knew would hold the key to his release.

Age: N/A
Race: N/A
Hair Colour: N/A
Eye Colour: N/A
Height: N/A
Weight: N/A
Occupation: God.

Personality: Thios longs for the freedom once afforded him by his rule. More than anything else, he merely wants to retake his place among the constellations. Although he has reservations about killing humans (and other sentient life), he will do so if called to or if the perceived gain is greater than the sacrifice. He will always attempt to help others, even to his own detriment and will volunteer much information. By no means is he a soft touch, he picks his friends carefully, but he knows that often the friend is regarded higher than the callous bodyguard.

Skills:
The Thrall: By channelling his conscience through the two spirits of his followers (Beren and Fenris – who, in Thios’ reality, is the brother of a mighty hero by the name of Radasanth and thus bears his likeness if and when he regains a physical form), Thios can take over the mind of his carefully procured pawns. His current pawn’s human name is Rathe (though this is unknown to Thios – Some parts of the mind are almost impossible to break, especially in his weakened state). This works by the spirits carrying a part of the god’s essence up through the crust of the land. They then meld together and enter the target (who has been previously weakened by mental attacks, thus this can only be used on the designated pawn and NO-ONE else.) The pawn experiences a sudden vision, usually of one of the followers rushing at him, before falling unconscious as Thios gains control of his body and will. The thrall’s mind is still present and can attempt to fight Thios’ control but will only succeed if he has been weakened. He may completely go along with Thios if his motives agree and then Thios can concentrate fully on the outside world. This internal struggle completely mutates the thrall’s body and he becomes hideous to look at. His flesh is torn and knotted, scarred by numerous internal conflicts that have spilled out. His eyes become covered over by skin, two brass studs in the centres of the sunken areas where the sockets should be. His tongue becomes ragged and useless, to stop Rathe voicing anything. When Thios wants to speak, a deep, gravely voice emanates from the thrall’s vicinity. Clothing that the thrall is wearing is unaffected by the change unless any particular action from the change affects it.

Mind Raid: Thios cannot leave his thrall’s mind for more than a few seconds without losing control of him. He can however make a quick break into the mind of a nearby small creature (insect, small rodent etc.) and replay their memories from the last five minutes or so) This is only successful 50% of the time and may occasionally cause him to lose his thrall and need to regain him via re-gripping his mind.

Beren and Fenris: The two spirits maintain many of their characteristics from life and although they also reside in the thrall’s body when he is possessed they serve Thios absolutely and are given rule over a faculty. Fenris resides in the hands and although the thrall’s movement is about 75% of that of a normal human he is 150% as dextrous. He may also form the dust of the ground into a sword (long, no tip, strength of steel) which the thrall can draw from the ground after a moment or twos concentration. If Thios starts losing control, the blade crumbles, as Fenris must attempt to keep his master in the thrall above all else. Beren resides in the ears and with Thios’ influence and his role as a conduit, he allows thoughts to be heard. Only the uppermost thoughts of a character may be heard (and only with permission), in fact they almost have to be thought at the thrall to be registered. He also is sensitive to changes of emotion in people, of many races (Although curiously not orcs).

Weakness To Ash: The ash of burnt wood weakens Thios’ hold on his thrall. He does not know why.

What do you look like if you have N/A for all your physical appearances? Other than that, if you could please explain what Thios looks like, what he is (either physical or metaphysical being). For the two that you use, are they physical or metaphysical? And are those spirits, if that's what they are, take over NPC's? Or are they the physical NPC?

The three spirits (Thios, Beren and Fenris) are not physical entities. They are merely spirits. They have no way of interacting with the world except through Rathe's body and thus have no physical characteristics. To all intents and purposes, Beren and Fenris are extentions of Thios' being, affecting only certain things when he enters his Thrall's mind. They have no physical presence or powers if seperated from Thios and so are useless without his guidance. This is why they are put under skills rather than as NPCs.

When he takes control of Rathe, Rathe's body changes as detailed above and Thios is then in control of the empty body created by causing Rathe's mind to vacate it. This means that it is his (Thios') personality that dictates the actions (although Rathe's mind is still within the body, albeit highly compressed, hence why he can still attempt to influence the body's movement). Rathe's physical appearance after being possessed is outlined above (under The Thrall) and this what other characters will see. However it is not meant to be a physical representation of Thios, which is why I choose to put it seperately. Rathe is a very ordinary man when not possessed and won't be used in combat or anything so I didn't think a description was necessary.

Thios does not inhabit Rathe full time (at the begining of each thread he will have to gain control of the thrall) but when outside of Rathe's body, he cannot interact with anything or affect any characters or objects at all. However, he can still travel and view the world, for a limited amount of time (6 hours) before needing to either attempt to enter Rathe or return to his crystalline prison within Althanas' crust.

Oh, it's not necessary to outline the non-combative body, as long as you make sure to describe it well enough for others in threads with you to know what is going on.

That's fine, I was just trying to figure out what was up... hah.

This is APPROVED. Be careful, and have fun.
