This last one is a self portrait I did for my portfolio.. Took me quite awhile to finish it.

Now a lot of these were drawn for a site called MD. They were submitted as avatars, however I no longer draw for the ungrateful bastard who owns the site. So! I'm stuck back at square one, just drawing random things for the heck of it.

I do take commissions and such, but haven't really done a whole lot with the artwork lately. I do plan to though.

I like your use of color in the self portrait and with that one woman. Vivid and dramatic...yet subtle, too.

To explain a bit, I don't like begging for payment really..
But I came from a website where basically all of my artwork was quite literally given away, and in the end my work was completely unappreciated.

I've been considering asking for paypal donations for complicated pieces of artwork or for color pieces.

For pencil sketch/tablet touch ups that would only take about 1 hour to 30 minutes, I'd do those for free. They're fun and well.. I'd like to see how fast I could do one.

My most current one in the first post took me all of 20 minutes to do. Meaning I'm getting faster at it, I think the use of the tablet helped a bit though.

Hah, good luck with getting paid for it on Althanas. No offense meant of course, your stuff is utterly amazing, but on a site where people can make, remake, recycle, and kill characters of their off at will RL money isn't probably going to be paid. :p

However, you will undoubtedly be suddenly assaulted with requests... have fun with that.

Haaah well I may not ask for pay, you never know. :P I love doing pencil sketches (which usually come out really detailed anyway).

And as I said once, I don't like asking for pay.

I'm going to put your pencil sketching skills to the test.

Ailnea looks like a normal human woman, but isn't. So for her, a simple human woman in monks robes with long curly hair would be perfect. If you choose to color sections or draw them with colored pencil, her skin is white, her hair is blond, her eyes are blue.

It's what's behind her that's the test. I'm sure you've seen pictures where one person is at the top, but they fade away and another person is at the bottom?

At the top, or possibly in the distance depending on perspective, I would like you to hint at what can easily be described as an Eldritch Nightmare creature from beyond the stars. Think Cthulhu Mythos but without the copyright violations, as that's where I drew inspiration from.

That creature is both Ailnea's mother, the original Ailnea, and what Ailnea herself will look like in due time. Only the barest hints of its true form are manifesting at the moment. Grey Tentacles for hair with a red band close to the tips, solid purple orbs for eyes, grey mottled skin, like that of a reptile, possibly a dragon, and claws for hands.

But that creature should not be directly drawn, only hinted at, as though seen in the distance through a thick fog....

Understand, or is more explanation required?
