Just found out that a close friend of mine was killed yesterday in a hit and run. Some guy slammed into his motorcycle and killed him, then fled.

I'm a bit in that nostalgic and stunned/blank state and can't really think straight enough to post.

The official story is that my close friend ran out of gas on his motorcycle, was pushing it along the road around 12:40am, and a person slammed into him on the side of the road. He was walking his bike back to a party to get gas that they had at the house, and instead got hit and was killed within minutes. Cops showed up at almost 1 am, and he was already dead.

The driver of the car hit him and continued to drive to their house. The car was found hours later, covered by a tarp, but the country sheriff's found it anyway. They still haven't found the person driving, but the entire town that's known the kid for years is in solemn silence. He was going to be 20 in a month.

It's a huge loss... and one that we're all dealing with as best we can. I'm not going to be on because of it. The "celebration of his life" is going to be held on Sunday, July 26th. Till then, I'll probably not be on as much; either Althanas or AIM.

Ailnea and oblueknighto, I have finished your judgment, but haven't completed the detailed part yet. I'll go over it and get it up if I can this week.

Being a motorcyclist myself, I know it's hard and I'm very sorry for your loss. I'd be willing to bet that the driver of the car (when) found claims he never saw the motorcycle. It's the most common excuse, but it's still an excuse and an extremely lame one at that. I'm praying for you and everyone involved.
