Rocky

Name: Rocky
Age: Gained sentience 64 years ago.
Race: Rock (Limestone)
Hair Color: None
Eye Color: None
Height: 5"
Weight: 5 pounds
Occupation: Rolling around.

Appearance: Rocky is nearly pure limestone (something which he is quite proud of), with small amounts of breccia, clay minerals, feldspar, and amphiboles. He is roughly a cube (thanks to being hewn into a rough brick). One side is smooth from weathering, while he is rougher on the other. He’s gray. He’s a fairly attractive rock but not particularly handsome. Many woman aren’t attracted to bald men.

Personality: As far as rocks go, Rocky is fairly brash and arrogant. He considers himself to be a very great and pure rock, as opposed to those mere conglomerates with their unkempt nodules and craggy appearances. He also believes that rocks are far, far superior to humans, the evidence of this being that rocks have the good sense to stand still and are, as it were, the foundation of all civilization. He isn’t terribly likeable, but luckily he doesn’t talk much and so people don’t notice.

Rocky is terrified of spiders.

History: Rocky’s parent rock was a great limestone cliff in a gorge. Unfortunately, some rather uncouth humans decided to chip pieces off and cart them away to build a school. One of those pieces was Rocky. The building he happened to be used in was a magical academy. Magic has a way of leaking, and one day Rocky found that he had attained sentience. This was highly inconvenient and is hardly a desirable trait for a respectable rock. He quickly got bored of life in the academy wall, and he slowly “convinced” the students to pick at the mortar surrounding him during their classes. This took many years, but eventually he crumbled into the nearby alleyway, and he has undergone an exciting life of being kicked, thrown, and jostled about the city.

Equipment: He is equipment.

Abilities:

Leadership: People around Rocky find themselves wanting to do what he wants, as if by magic. Well, it is by magic. He exerts some level of control over anyone within a two foot radius, and even more control over someone holding him.

However, this ability is dependent on how strong-willed the person is. It only works on player characters below Rocky's level; above that they will "hear" his suggestions, but by no means must they follow them. Player characters who are exactly Rocky's level may or may not comply with his "suggestions", depending on the strength of their personality. It is up to their player to decide.

Leadership also works on especially weak-willed NPCs--such as children, beggars, starving people, and the infirm.

Clout: Rocky is quite good for hitting people with. He’s very heavy.

Poet: Some of Rocky’s poems are the best seen anywhere in the multiverse. Unfortunately, he’s been unable to write them down and their brilliance has been lost.

Telepath: Rocky can communicate by thought with anyone holding him, as long as they speak Tradespeak.

Rocky, I'd like for you to limit the control of the Leadership ability. It seems highly powerful and highly abusable. Perhaps add in a note that says he can only do so with levels of his own or lower.

Other than that, it works for me. Make the edit and restriction and I'll re-read and reconsider.

Oh my, I didn't even realize how overpowered that was until I looked at it again. I didn't mean complete mind control (honestly) I just meant that he could give them an extra nudge.

Anyway, I gave it a lot more restrictions, so hopefully that works.
