PM me or PM me to tell me when to get on AIM for you and we can talk about it. I'm not gonna bother laying out the details here but basically:

Guy1: Lives on faraway planet, messes with time travel, planet gets ruined by Guy2 traveling into the past and screwing around, follows Guy2 to Althanas (future), which is a smoldering molten lava rock, travels to Althanas (present) which is not apocalyptic yet, tries to find Guy2 to figure out what he changed on his original planet's timeline to restore it, also later on to try to prevent the apocalypse.

Guy2: Steals time traveling technology on faraway planet, travels back in time and becomes rich+powerful, ends up ruining the planet, flees through space to Althanas (future) which is still green and blue, goes back in time for some reason, eventually causing Althanas (future) to become a giant volcano.

It's sort of a time traveling Spy vs Spy with certain time traveling rules. I need someone to be Guy1, who you can peg as the good guy, or Guy2, the bad guy. I'm simply not interested in doing everything myself.

Need someone/some people who are experienced and active. People who are likely to drop out at any point or not participate for weeks at a time need not apply.

Hmm this sounds pretty nice. I can try this out. This will pop my adventure cherry lol. So sign me up.

And I am on aim most of the night so that is the best time to find me.

Sounds interesting, I'm interested.

Over a week later, and no interest from regulars? Not to doubt anyone that expressed interest already, but I was looking for someone with some experience to their name. Oh well, that was another of my attempts to write on this site again. Maybe I'll try again in a few months. Two years on this site and I can barely get anyone to do anything with me. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I think your goals of attracting regulars and getting people to make new characters for it are stymieing one another. As I told you, there's nothing about the general undercurrent and theme of this idea that demands people drop what they're doing and create new characters. If you're hoping to sell this to people who are experienced enough to be invested in their own characters and ideas, you're going to have to make it relevant to them.

Actually, since it's so irrelevant to their current characters, it should be an easy investment. I spent a long time trying to cater to specific characters, and they didn't want to do anything. I figured no strings would give the most freedom. Anyway, I took a lot of chances and I don't need to go through that again, so if I get no interest that's OK, I expect it. I understand all too well where you're coming from.

Predefined character roles that you are requesting other people to fill not with their current characters but by creating while new accounts merely to fit into those positions... is not freedom.

Also, posting an idea thread is not taking a lot of chances.

Your melodrama aside, I think this is still a decent idea and I reiterate that if you would be more flexible with it and try to tailor it to existing characters, you would get a better response.

You're just nit-picking for the sake of it. Assuming that I would force people to act a certain way as a new character, instead of being wholly receptive to what they want to do, assuming that the 'chances' thing ISN'T the fact that I've been trying to DM/get in threads for the past year and a half with failure, and once again suggesting that I tailor it to specific characters, which is something I tried to do with ideas/concepts hundreds of times in the past and was met with complete failure.

I think I've tried to do something with every regular on this site by now, and they just drop out of threads silently and a couple months later pretend they never happened if they even come back. So, really, if I don't get any interest on something that I actually did different this time, it's OK. I expect it. I'm not going to beg anyone to post with me. If you're not interested, then let the thread die. I'm up for a lot of things besides this, so I'd rather have ideas than criticism.

I'm basing everything I said not on assumptions but on my interaction with you about my interest in this idea.

Criticism is an idea. It's an idea for improvement, but if you want to say "I already tried so hard, everyone always lets me down" and wait for this thing to fail, so be it. An attitude like that hardly encourages people to change your mind.

I see that you've registered a character for it, so maybe you'll just solo it. I retract my interest (edit: which I expressed very clearly to you during our AIM conversation, which you seem to have conveniently forgotten). Best of luck.

Disagreement and trolling are not one in the same. You've been unsuccessful and I've tried to tell you why so you can fix it. If you want to be stubborn and reactionary, so be it.

Retracting interest involves actually having any in the first place. You've expressed zero throughout the thread, but suddenly when I make one of the characters, you apparently developed interest in the solid 10 minutes between your post and my character creation.

Please stop trolling.

I think I've tried to do something with every regular on this site by now...

I've been here 5 years and have yet to do something with you.

This would interest me a lot more if it did not require that I create a whole new character just for it. Visla is right, the fact that most people would have to create a new character to be able to participate is a serious interest deflator.

I very much like the idea here. However, none of my characters are time travelers, therefore none of my characters fit. I have too many other things to do to have time to create a new character that I wouldn't be certain of using ever again.

Perhaps, it would be permissible for a temporary, one-time use character to be created and used on an account that one already has? That would be a solution I'd be willing to implement. Could even go so far as to have it be that the account's character wakes up at the end having had one heckuva dream.

Actually, what I'm more interested now is finding stuff to do with them. If you feel the need for any temporal quandaries or any idea that involves them (good guy doing good stuff, bad guy doing bad stuff, I'll play him under the good guy's account), then I'm down.

blackandblueeyes has given me permission to essentially replace him in his own thread, the concordia blues thread. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=18850) naturally, a new thread will be made, but i'm looking for someone (female preferably) to do this thing.

i got permission from the creator who left the site, we could remake it with the same concept. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=144127#post144127)

i don't want any of my year-long ideas to go to waste, so someone please step up and help me do this! i promise i won't bite.
