Dale left his home to join the navy, he felt this was a good idea, cause the love of his life, Stacey, had a different love, and forgot all about him, but he didn’t really know how many friends he actually had until he left and began to miss them all, very much, but it was already to late, his career in the navy had already started, he went from Illinois, too Mississippi, to California, in Mississippi he took classes to become a welder, and in California he joined his first battalion, his new home, and they we going on deployment soon.
Dale was in the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 40 for about 2 months, this was his first deployment, and to his luck, it was in Guam, he wasn’t the best at his job but he tried, he was a lot different than the other Seabees he worked with and got a lot of crap for being different, it was no different than in high school, but as in high school he just ignored everything that they said and went on doing his job in the most efficient way possible.
He had long forgotten about Stacey, he never wanted it to be like this but this was the best way for him to live his life. But the way he forgot about her was not the best way to do it. When he would start thinking about her, he would go out into town and drink and go to the strip clubs, take his mind off her till he forgot about her completely, to his surprise he didn’t get hangovers so he was good to drink on nights that he had to go to work.
One night after his drinking he came back home, stumbling around the barracks, found his room and passed out in his bed, full uniform and all, when he awoke he was in a field, completely empty with the exception of a chair with a tall figure sitting with his back turned to him, Dale tried to get up but was unsuccessful,
“Um, where am I?” Dale asked the man sitting in the chair.
The man got up out of his chair and turned around, to Dales surprise it was Andy, Stacey’s fiancé
“Andy?”
“Yes, Dale, it is me,”
“What are you doing here?”
Andy laughed at that, “Do you even know where you are?”
Dale looked around, it look as if he was in Guam still, there was trees, and grass, and that’s about it,
“I’m still in Guam, what are you doing here?” Dale asked again, hoping that this was all just a dream
“No, this is not a dream, and your not still in Guam, you are now in the world of Althanas.”
