Changes/Updates in clear ocean blue. Level 0 profile can be found under my avatar...obviously. Note that this profile is best viewed in the Dark layout, unless you want to have a lot of white assaulting your eyes as well.
Name: Eric Anglekos. He has now also adopted the pseudonym "Sebastian Cadeon III" for his own purposes.
Age: Twenty two.
Race: Human.
Hair Color: Dark Brown, almost black in the winter.
Eye Color: Ranges from a bright, pale blue to a clear gray, depending on his mood at the time.
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 203 lbs
Occupation: Traveler, warrior, and soldier for hire.
Personality: Eric is very calm and confident in himself, and he usually always has a self-satisfied smirk or smile upon his face. He's very much a simple man with simple needs, and likes conversation with other warriors and those like him. He doesn't get angry easily, but when he does his anger is hard to let go of, and he often makes rash decisions without thinking when he is.
In combat, he grows serious and tries to finish battles off as soon as possible. While he likes to use his abilities, he prefers to avoid combat as often as possible, saying that the only battle a warrior cannot lose is one not fought.
Appearance: Standing at about six feet exactly, Eric has a youthful, serious face that is usually shaven, except in times of mourning or when he doesn't have the time to. His build is stocky and toned with muscle. Not so much as anyone would call him a body builder, but he obviously does not sit around on his bottom most of the time. His hair is a dark brown that is lighter in the summer and is almost black in the winter, and he keeps it short enough that it doesn't get in his way but long enough to run his hands through. His bangs are the longest part of his hair, reaching at least past his nose. Why he keeps them long, no ones knows. Over his breastplate and clothing, consisting of usually a black shirt and dark blue pants, he wears a dark cloak for protection against the cold and prying eyes.
Skills:
~Passive Abilities~
Swordsmanship: He has adept skill in combat with sword-class weapons, including one handed and two handed types. He does not have any particular style and is self-taught.
Bowmanship: He has above-average skill with bow-class weapons, and can hit a target reasonably well up to forty feet away, if the arrow can fly that far. Beyond that, his chances fall from rare to nil. As with swordsmanship, he is self-taught.
~Magic~
Lightning Rod: At his will, Eric can supercharge his body, making his body stronger and faster with magical electricity. In this state, his strength, speed, and reaction rates are increased by 2x, and anyone who touches his skin for the duration of the spell receives a sharp electric shock. This shock does is not harmful if just a light touch, but suspended contact can be mildly harmful. This state lasts for two minutes (or two of my posts in battle threads), although Eric can end it anytime he wills it. At the end of the spell Eric is left wearied, and can only perform one other spell afterward. It can be used only once per battle or quest, and can be recognized by others when his eyes start glowing a sinister blue and his body is surrounded by a blue, crackling aura.
Blade Lightning: By willing it, Eric can momentarily increase the cutting or striking power of the weapon he is holding by imbuing it with the same mystical electricity. For two strikes, or two arrows, the striking power is increased by 3x and is imbued with lightning elemental energy, causing twice as much damage to water-based creatures/characters or metal-encased creatures/characters. He can do this twice per thread or battle, unless he performs Lightning Rod first.
Laying of Hands: By imbuing his power into a person (including himself), Eric can heal small bruises and cuts and return stamina unto them. It also makes them feel really good. Can be used once per battle and twice per quest. {Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=18574&page=2)}
Equipment:
- A steel long sword, the blade about three feet long. Eric christened it "Amalia", after his dead fiance', and the hilt of the blade has a tassel made out of a lock of her blond hair. The scabbard is made of leather.
-Twin prevalida daggers christened "Acheron" and "Styxx", they are each a foot long and have a ring underneath the crosspiece that allows him to spin them around his fingers with ease. {Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=18574&page=2)}
- An iron breastplate that covers his upper body and shoulders, with a pair of iron gauntlets as well. It is form fitted to his body.
- Black cloak that provides concealment in the dark. Its made from regular cloth and has no special properties.
- A yew long bow that functions as both a weapon and makeshift staff. He also carries a quiver with twenty arrows. The shafts are made of oak and the heads are made of iron.
- A pair of steel arm guards and greaves with an enchantment upon them that renders the wearer completely soundless, allowing them to move in utter silence. {Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=18955&page=2)}
- A single coin with four holes punched into it and the name "Reine" engraved upon it. {Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=19054&page=2)}
History:
Eric originally comes from a land not unlike Althanas, a realm called Saleria. He was born upon an island country split into two nations at war, in a small village not far from his nation's capital. This country was unique in that everyone born upon its soil was bestowed with some sort of "power", magic that ranged from mere domestic uses, such as making a flame to boil water, to mighty war spells that could tame the weather to its user's wishes. It also was unique in that all of its inhabitants thought that their country was the entire world; no one had ever journeyed past the storms that surrounded the entire island. And so they lived in ignorance that an entire world lay out there beyond theirs. This country had been split into war between two kings, and it had gone on for so long that no one even remembered why it had begun in the first place.
Eric was born a rarity and freak amongst these people: unlike everyone else around him, he did not possess a scrap of magic in him. This was a terrible burden for him as his father was a great war hero and sorcerer, so everyone had expected him to display the same type of power and strength as his father before him. Forced to rely upon his wits and body and determined to live up to his father's name, he learned how to defend himself with a sword and bow and made up for his disadvantage in sheer tenacity and physical attributes. It was this knowledge that saved his life.
Soldiers apparently from the opposing nation came not two days before Eric was to be married to his fiance', Devon, and slaughtered everyone in his entire village. He fought valiantly but was eventually knocked unconcious and presumed dead from his injuries. Weak, Eric awoke to find his entire village burnt to the ground and everyone he had ever known slain. Also, a soldier bearing the colors of his nation was walking around, poking at the bodies with a spear. Eric approached him and assured the man that he was a friendly, but was immediately shocked when the soldier attacked him out of the blue. Forced to kill the man, despite his own wounds, Eric began to question just what he had always been told when he discovered a letter on the man, giving the soldier to kill any survivors. Thus, after a few days of preparing and rest, Eric buried his fiance' and left his village in search of the truth.
He was soon joined by two comrades who had similar stories to his. One was an older man, a blacksmith, who's daughter had been kidnapped and taken away, apparently by soldiers from their own nation. The other was a female ex-soldier from the opposing nation, a woman who had found evidence that this entire war was just a scapegoat. Once they had found her, they had tried killing her, but she managed to fight her former comrades off and run away. It wasn't long before they rescued a young man from soldiers claiming he was a wanted fugitive, and found out that he was actually the supposedly dead Prince of their nation. Like the other three, he had had doubts about the war and the government in general, and soon enough he found out the truth:
There entire "world" was a lie.
The war was just a distraction, so the two kings, who were brothers, would be able to rule over their island country as almost literal gods. They'd been using their magic to extend their lifespans so that they could rule for lifetimes on end. To keep the war going, they would have bands of their own soldiers dressed in uniforms of the other nation go and kill a village a two, here and there. It kept people from being curious about what was outside the waters around the island.
Furious at being decieved, Eric and his companions went and stormed the nation capital, with a little help of course. Through persistency and cunning, they managed to slay the king, reveal the truth and restore the Prince to his throne, thus dethroning the other king through public rebellions and fighting.
Eric, however, did not want to stay in a country that reminded him his father had died for a lie, and requested that he be able to be sent away. From the country, from the world, from it all. He was surprised, however, when the Prince found a spellcaster with a talent for dimension traveling, and opened a portal to Althanas for him. Without a second thought, Eric entered the realm of Althanas and started the rest of his life.
Here on Althanas, he was suprised to find that he hadn't been born without power after all: The passage to this realm must have awakened his formerly dormant abilities, and now he spends his time finding out just what he can do.
