Hey guys I'm new here. Just thought I'd drop by and introduce myself, maybe get to know some people or something.
But yeah, my character just got approved :D so I'm ready to start! Really I'm hoping to learn how to right better, lol that's why I'm here. So far it looks like I'm in the right place :)

Thanks, nice to meet you. But yeah, I thought the whole setup of this place was pretty cool compared to other places. My friend wanted me to join Theforce.net, but I like the judging system here.

It is, indeed. I once said to a friend long ago that Althanas was technically the greatest and one of the largest MMORPG's on the planet, and the one offering the most customization, due to it's leveling system. It is what all 3D MMO's aspire to but can never reach; no real fault on their own.
Our judges are quite usually fair and competent. If you have any questions, feel free to approach one of them with it; the moderators have their names italicized and the administrators' are bolded.

It was like four weeks ago when I found it so I'm not sure, but I think I was looking for some kind of rpg browser game. Haha but I didn't find anything good and somehow this place popped up.
It's kind of like those I'm a Mac, I'm a PC commercials except we're both capable of doing respectable work and one of us isn't an intolerable hipster ponce.

Heh, better than how I found it. I believe I was searching up demon pornography or something or other when this place popped up. That says way too much about way too many things.
Seeing as you're new, I suggest you start out at Scara Brae (http://althanas.com/world/forumdisplay.php?f=9), Althanas's version of Newbie Isle. Also, the Peaceful Promenade is great place to meet fellow roleplayers ICly; the town of Underwood is home to a diverse culture of inhabitants.

Hmm, but that will make certain people have almost max rep instantly, which doesn't really prove anything other than that they were already awesome, which we already knew. Anyway, the community is just the right size so we know who's respectable and who isn't. It's already set out that way.

He's not kidding about this. This place has been around for almost a decade, and several of us have been around for all or most of that. The best thing is still when new people show up.
As for Lord Angy and his demon fetish, we don't placate him. My character has a succubus and she's never done anything that would be rated more than PG. . . for sex at least, violence is another story entirely.

A pity. Visla is right, however; in general, sex is very rarely written in threads. If it is, a warning must be written by the writer(s) at the beginning of the thread, specifying it's content. We've had a vast assortment of...interesting characters and stories, so feel free to let your imagination run rampant, just make sure to let the readers know beforehand if you want to get more adult with it.

Not true. I've read plenty of threads on this site that had sexual content in them without a disclaimer. And honestly, if you've come here to write you should expect adult material in some shape or form. I can't think of anything that is off limits and hasn't been done already. Write whatever you want, you'll know when you've pushed the envelope too far.

Yeah, thats a cool thing about this place I think. It's so much more lenient than some other sites where they have tons of rules on everything, blah.

Oh, by the way. What is a approved quest?? People talk about doing them, but I don't know what they are.
They're quests in the FQ's current chapter, The Heart of War, that have been approved by me. Anyone can write a quest, but there are special rewards and perks for doing an approved quest, which is any quest that has some sort of impact on the current civil war in Salvar. The reason why I need to approve it is to make sure there's an actual impact on the war and to keep track of the quests falling down the pipe. You don't have to do approved quests or missions if you don't want to, but you'll be better rewarded if you attempt either of them. To get an approved quest, bring your idea to me and we'll talk about it and to get a mission you just head over to the HoW mission board and claim one.

O wow, that's cool. I like the idea of players influencing the storyline.
Sucks though, my characters based in Corone.
You don't have to stay in Corone, you can come to Salvar at any time during the duration of the war, before it, or even afterwards. How and what you do is frankly up to you, but if you're interested in joining the FQ this is the time to do it. After this chapter, my region's involvement in the FQ ends so if you'd like to take advantage of those mission and approved quest rewards now's the time.
