Consider, for a moment, that there is an entire part of Althanas history destined to go unrecorded.

The Dark Thayne N'Jal was once sealed in a meteor. This is common knowledge. But what if, just what if there was more to it than just that?

Imagine, if you would, that N'Jal's power was so great that they had to split her consciousness into many different parts and keep each of them under guard, in different dimensions, even.

So the calls go out, dragging those destined to serve a Thayne to the realm of Terra (roughly 18th century Earth), to stop the forces of N'Jal's Dark Will from freeing her.

Now, for my actual idea. There are these ancient marks on the earth called Nazca Lines that resemble the shapes of some animals. I propose a what-if scenario, where the Lines are each the Terrestrial manifestations of the Thayne on Terra, a pseudo-Earth. Lorenor and MetalDrago attempt to revive the Dark Thayne through this Nazca Line, and it's up to the servers of the other Thayne to stop her from ever seeing the light of day again. Based on the discussion of the parties involved, the story can shift in many different direction, even going so far as leading to a battle between the Thayne, albeit with them being played as NPCs by the people whose character serves them.

Well, that's my idea. If you want to join or have questions, don't hesitate, please.

Duffy would definitely be interested as a vassal of Tantalus, would be interesting to shift the focus from Althanas for a thread or two, just to mix it up a little.

I agree. That's why I'm doing this what-if thread... It probably won't make canon, but it will be an interesting diversion to writers that desire a little something different, I think.

Sorry for the double post, but the thread is up.

Looks good, although I forgot about 18th century when writing my intro post, which was damned exciting and enjoyable to do! It took a while to think of an idea to get Duffy on his way to Terra, but it all slotted into place. I love the NPC Thayne idea too, just because I've nether thought about what Tantalus would be like beyond a sort of 'guiding voice,' if you guys are up for that it's dandy with me.

Assume the 'towers' referred to are just very tall city buildings or church towers, I'm too lazy to edit it just now.

Let's kick some spider ass :D (Or just me, since both of you are N'jal's lackeys :p)

This ought to be fun. I look forward to seeing how our characters fare against my nifty plot twists.

I will be posting very soon. I just have another post to get to that's taking up my time. Once that one is done I'll play catch-up and knock everything out.
