Uh. Yeah I never really know what to say in these introduction type things? It's always kinda awkward in my opinion. But whatever.

HELLO!

Got that over with!

Name's Jenn, I've been rping on and off for just over a year. My writing's not all that great I know, but I'm working on it, and it looks like this site has mechanisms for giving people advice about that sort of thing. :3 (I love that smiley it is adorable). I like sci fi and fantasy and horror, mostly, especially if there's romance involved also. I like '50s rock and roll (spare the comments please, LOL, I know it's weird) and my favorite musician is Buddy Holly. Who I am listening to right now. Blablabla. Etc. <Random facts about myself>

Um.

That's about it.

I TOLD YOU THESE THREADS WERE AWKWARD! ^^;

Oh! And I posted my character...here (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=20129). And now she's approved! Anyone up for an RP? :3

Welcome. I'm reading over the profile right now for approval's sake, and your writing is actually pretty good. Some minor tweaks here and there and you'd be awesome. (Not that you aren't.)

Anywho, pleasure to meet you. If you'd like to run a thread with my char, shoot me a message. I'm pretty much always up for a thread with a newbie.

Hi! Ha, thank you. ^^; Well I'm working on it.

And cool! That'd be great! :3

I looked through it too, and believe me, you're a much better writer than you think.

So welcome, and enjoy the place. A lot of people are busy studying for finals (I should probably get back to that now) so the place might not seem very active right now. It'll get better when the semester ends though.

I'll also put my name in the hat if you ever feel like writing a quest together. Also, good taste: got a weak spot for True Love Ways myself (granted, it's not quite Rock like his other works).

Hullo, and nice of you to say so!

That's not really a problem, I've got big tests this week and the next too...ugh. Such a pain. ^^;

Cool beans. :P Hey, I was just listening to that song a few minutes ago! Love it. Beautiful song.

Same for me, and the worst two are this week and packed close together. Fun times.

Though not quite 50's Rock, I do also enjoy the Troggs and Smokey Robinson on my to-go list of that general era. Tears of a Clown always manages to get to me.

Then there's Night of the Long Grass, which... well yeah.

Ah, that's unfortunate.

Haha, really! I love the Troggs. Night of the Long Grass is one of my all time favorite songs. They're a bit later, true, but definitely good.

I like a really wide variety of music, heh. Pretty much rock from any era at all is good. Rockabilly, punk, grunge, and prog rock are probably my favorite genres, which is pretty diverse. Anything from Buddy Holly to the Clash to Nirvana is good. Plus obviously stuff like the Stones, the Who, Bob Dylan. Franz Ferdinand is a pretty recent band which is just AWESOME. I dunno if you've heard of them. Then like, some power metal like Sonata Arctica, Kamelot is nice sometimes. I don't like techno a lot but some stuff (e.g. Daft Punk) is pretty good also. Buddy Holly is just the GOD of rock'n'roll though. X3

I really don't listen to top 40 stuff at all. >.< My sister is a Lady Gaga/Rhianna/Whatever fanatic and I'm just like...uggghh. No thank you. The only time I like modern music is when I'm listening to the Baseballs, who do '50s rock style covers of pop songs. LOVE IT. Their cover of Umbrella (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5HkglOcm1k) is one of my favorite songs, ever.

Ha, sorry for going on, but music is like MY LIFE. XD

For Franz, I haven't listened to them much, but I liked what I did hear. Save for Kamelot, I've listened to all those (plus The Zombies, Opeth and a bit of Justice) and have become a rabid fan of each during extended periods of time.

While I share the same reservations about top 40 things, though, there's a lot of contemporary music that's very much worth a hear. I was recently introduced to TV on Radio, and they rock.

All time heroes remain David Bowie and Neil Young and Frank Sinatra, though. Well, them and Neil Patrick Harris.

But good lord, I need to listen to these Baseball guys more. They can make any song sound epic.

I hate your music. I won't lie. But welcome anyway! I'm also new (a returning oldie in reality, but I like to think of myself as new as it's been over two years since I left).

I'm more of a metal fan myself. I also like the completely opposite too for some reason, something like Opera or the playings of a piano. I think all those years of playing the Final Fantasies got to me.

*thumbs up* Awesomesauce. I like your music taste, Ataraxis! David Bowie is certainly a hero, I don't know Neil Young all that well but what I do know is good.

And holy cow yes, The Baseballs are AMAZING. <3 I don't own their album but I want it really badly right now. Their version of Hot'n'Cold (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU4uJUZHVJM) is also fantastic. Hearing them sing "You PMS like a bitch, I would know," also makes me laugh out loud every time. So funny. Their covers are generally significantly better than the original versions, in my opinion. They can seriously cover ANY song and make it sound like the modern version is the cover. Oh, Bleeding Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McO2ckRO4AY) might be my other favorite of theirs...but This Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6dmB1ImmlE) and Hey There Delilah (which I unfortunately cannot find) are also awesome. Just such a good band. *excited to share them with people*

And um, that's a bit of an, uh, abrupt way of putting it Majik, but okay. ^^; Thanks for the welcome! I pretty much think there's a lot of value in any kind of music. It's all down to personal taste. Even if you don't like rock, I'm sure we have similarities. Metal's good also, actually, and I definitely can get into some more classical stuff sometimes.

I can't really say I "HATE" any kind of music, honestly. Especially not something like, well, the primary popular genre of music for the past 60 years. >>;

Hate's a strong word, yes, but on the other hand, I'm a strong person. Or, at least, I like to think so. I'm liking the character, look forward to seeing you in action.

By the way, intro threads are indeed pretty awkward, ain't they? It's as if they expect us all to be loving and caring sheep.

But look out, because I'm a wolf, baby.

You've been fully approved now, btw, Miss Jenn.

Oh, you will...

I would slink into the shadows now for an ominously mysterious exit, but this is text. You get an ellipsis in return. Don't go crazy with it.

Logan! You ninja'd this post and thus ruined the excitement of my facade of darkness and foreboding mystery. For that, I hate you. But not really.

Or do I...? (The feeling's back. Ohhh yes, I am good.)

Golem Girl

Yes, I saw that Logan, and thank you very much! :D *goes back to update first post*

And um...okay Majik! ^^; Whatever makes you happy, mr. lone wolf dude...

(and hey, you can't corner the market on ellipses...)
